アーセナルは15日、主将を務めるガボン代表FWピエール=エメリク・オーバメヤン(31)と新たに3年契約を延長したことを発表した。現行契約が2021年夏までだったため、2024年夏まで契約を延長したことになる。
バルセロナやインテルへの移籍も報じられていたオーバメヤンだったが、今後もアーセナルのエースとしてプレーすることが決まった。
契約延長に至ったオーバメヤンは｢特別なクラブとの契約延長は当然のことだ。アーセナルを信じているし、偉大なことを成し遂げることができると思っている。ここでプレーすることがベストだと信じている｣とコメント。
2018年1月にドルトムントから5600万ポンドで加入したオーバメヤンは、ここまで公式戦111試合で72ゴール25アシストという見事な成績を収めている。昨季はFAカップ決勝でチェルシー相手に2ゴールを決めて最多14度目の制覇に導くと、先日のコミュニティ・シールドでもゴールを決めて、PK戦の末のリバプール撃破に貢献していた。

「トゥヘルの様子が…」オーバメヤンがチェルシー時代を回想「デビュー戦は人生最悪の試合」「僕自身も準備できていなかった」
元ガボン代表FWピエール=エメリク・オーバメヤン(現:アル・カーディシーヤ)が、イギリス『Athletic』でチェルシー時代を回想した。 ブンデスリーガとプレミアリーグで得点王に輝いたストライカー、オーバメヤン。ドルトムントとアーセナルで腰を据えて活躍し、半年間だけの在籍となったバルセロナでも得点を量産した。 22年夏、バルセロナの財政状況により、加入半年でチェルシー移籍を余儀なくされることに。 当時チェルシーはドルトムント時代に師事したトーマス・トゥヘル監督(現:イングランド代表)が指揮も、オーバメヤンいわく再会した恩師トゥヘルは「様子がおかしかった」という。 「あの日のことをよく覚えてる。チェルシーで最初に出場した試合のことだよ」 「僕はトゥヘルと親しい関係性で、彼はいつも選手たちに理解を示してくれる…しかし、再会した彼は僕の知っている男ではなかったんだ。試合に敗れて怒りを撒き散らし、チェルシーでの仕事を楽しんでいないのだと理解した」 “トゥヘルがいるなら”とチェルシー加入を承諾したオーバメヤンだが、結局デビュー戦翌日に指揮官は解任され、コンディションもモチベーションも落ちていくことに。1年後にマルセイユへの完全移籍でチェルシーを去った。 「チェルシーでの初戦は“人生最悪の試合”。正直言って僕自身も準備ができていなかったと認めざるを得ない。ファンはアーセナル時代の僕を期待していただろうけど、不本意にバルセロナを離れ、心の整理ができていなかった」 「チェルシーも僕自身も混乱していた1年だったと思う。クラブが僕をプレーさせたくなかったことは、今思えばラッキーだったかもしれない。当時の僕は休息が必要だったからね」 その後、オーバメヤンは23-24シーズンのマルセイユで公式戦30得点を叩き出し、今季から高待遇のサウジ移籍を掴むなど、復活を遂げた。 2025.01.08 15:20 Wed

セクシーすぎる腰振りが圧巻!アーセナル新加入DFの彼女はお尻ダンスの女王
