ブレントフォードは29日、U-20イングランド代表FWマイケル・オラキベ(19)との契約を2028年6月30日まで延長したことを発表した。
QPRやフルアムの下部組織でプレーしたオラキベは、2022年7月にブレントフォードのBチームに加入すると、昨季は公式戦27試合に出場しクラブのU-21プレミアリーグカップ初優勝にも貢献していた。
ここでの活躍が認められ、今夏にアメリカで行われたプレシーズンツアーに帯同し、今季はBチームに所属しながら8月29日に行われたEFLカップ2回戦のニューポート・カウンティ戦でトップチームデビュー。これまで公式戦6試合に出場している。
オラキベとの契約延長について、クラブディレクターのフィル・ジャイルズ氏は以下のようにコメントしている。

エンベウモが今夏ステップアップを示唆…ニューカッスルらが関心か
ブレントフォードのカメルーン代表FWブライアン・エンベウモ(24)が、今夏のステップアップを示唆している。 2019年夏にトロワから当時チャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のブレントフォードに加入したエンベウモ。2020-21シーズンに主力としてプレミアリーグ昇格に貢献すると、以降の3シーズンもビーズの攻撃の主軸として活躍。今シーズンは足首のケガで3カ月の離脱を強いられたが、プレミアリーグ25試合9ゴール6アシストと見事な数字を残した。 171㎝とサイズには恵まれていないものの、フィジカル能力が非常に高く、高精度の左足を駆使した打開力とスペースをアタックするランニングで、ボールのオン・オフに関わらず、相手に脅威を与えられる優れたアタッカーだ。 そして、ブレントフォードとの現行契約が残り2年となる24歳に関してはニューカッスル、リバプールといったプレミアリーグの強豪クラブが関心を示していると言われる。 そういった中、エンベウモはフランス『レキップ』で今夏のステップアップの可能性を認めている。 「ブレントフォードで5年間過ごした。このクラブで成長し、節目を迎えることができた。もちろん、最高のクラブで最大の大会に出場したいと思っているよ。いくつかのビッグクラブが自分に興味を持っていることを見聞きするのは、魅力的なことだね。今後がどうなるか見てみよう!」 2024.05.31 20:50 Fri

ブレントフォードがダムスゴーアと新契約締結! 今季は10ゴール関与と本領発揮中

ブレントフォードが20歳SBカヨデを買取OP付きレンタル! フィオレンティーナで昨季ブレイクも今季は控えに
