元南アフリカ代表DFアネレ・エンゴンカ氏(33)が死去した。
母国のFCフォーチュン(現ウェスタン・プロヴィンス・ユナイテッド)でプロデビューしたエンゴンカ氏は、2007年にヘンクへ移籍。その後、トロワでのプレーを経て、FIFAクラブワールドカップにも出場した母国の強豪マメロディ・サンダウンズに加入。直近にはアマズルFCへのレンタル移籍が決まっていたが、クラブから正式発表はされていなかった。
2009年に初招集を受けた南アフリカ代表キャリアにおいては2010年に母国開催となった南アフリカ・ワールドカップ(W杯)メンバーに選出。通算52キャップを記録していた。
9年間在籍した古巣のヘンクは23日にクラブ公式ツイッター(@KRCGenkofficial)で｢アネレ・エンゴンカから悲しいニュースが届いた。彼は自動車事故で亡くなった。エンゴンカはヘンクで通算279試合に出場していた。彼の家族や友人の皆様、心よりお悔やみ申し上げます｣とエンゴンカ氏の他界を報告するとともに、悼んだ。
なお、『ESPN』によればエンゴンカ氏は23日早朝、友人と南アフリカのムツンジニ近くの高速道路を走行中にコントロールを失い横転。この事故により、同氏は命を落とし、運転していた友人は重傷で病院へ緊急搬送されたという。

伊東純也が所属するヘンクが新監督を招へい、3シーズン前にカップ戦制したヴランケン氏と契約
日本代表MF伊東純也が所属するヘンクは28日、新指揮官にワウテル・ヴランケン氏(43)を招へいすることを発表した。 なお、契約期間に関しては、無期限とされている。 ヴランケン監督は、現役時代はシント=トロイデンやヘント、ヘンク、メヘレン、コルトレイクとベルギー国内でプレーを続け、2010年10月に現役を引退した。 その後指導者となり、ロンメルでの監督やコルトレイクでのアシスタントコーチを経て、2018年8月からメヘレンの監督に就任した。 メヘレンでは145試合で指揮を執り、70勝31分け44敗の成績。2021-22シーズンは7位でシーズンを終え、ヘンクとともにプレーオフ2に参加していた。 なお、2018-19シーズンにはクロッキー・カップ(国内カップ戦)で見事優勝に導いていた。 2022.05.28 22:50 Sat
