その後もモドリッチをベンチスタートとしたクロアチア相手に主導権を握るデンマークは、41分にボックス手前右からライナーのコントロールシュートが枠を捉えたが、GKリヴァコビッチのセーブに阻まれ、前半のうちにゴールをこじ開けることはできなかった。
