メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

元クロアチア代表DFで、かつてはJリーグの大宮アルディージャでプレーしたマト・ネレトリャク氏が、日本代表について語った。クロアチア『sportske novosti』が伝えた。 5日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のラウンド16でクロアチアは日本と対戦する。 前回大会のファイナリストであり、今大会は悲願の初優勝を目指すクロアチア。日本はドイツ代表、スペイン代表をグループステージで下し、初のベスト8を目指すこととなる。 先日までカタールに滞在していたマト氏は、母国が対戦する日本について言及。日本人のメンタリティを警戒すべきだとした。 「日本は我々のイメージよりも遥かに優れている。ただ、もし日本とスペインのどちらかを選べるなら、私はいつだって日本を選ぶ」 「彼らのメンタリティを知っている。彼らはW杯の準優勝国と対戦するという事実を光栄に思うことだろう。ただ、それは彼らが勝てないと思っているということには繋がらない」 「それどころか、彼らには優勝経験のある監督がいる。彼は広島で2度チャンピオンになり、代表チームをしっかりと構築してきた」 森保一監督がJリーグで優勝経験があることも知っており、日本人のリスペクトは敗戦を受け入れていると言うことではないと警告するマト氏。日本の戦い方を分析し、強豪国を倒した方法を説明した。 「日本は低いブロックを持つチームだ。技術面ではクロアチアの方が圧倒的に優れているだろうが、日本は強い個性を持ったチームだ」 「0-0の時は粘り強く守り、攻撃に深みを求めるが、失点すればハイプレスに切り替わる。それが彼らがスペインを相手に最初にゴールを決めたやり方であり、2点目も同じような特徴を持っていた」 日本のことをよく知るマト氏。2009年、2010年は大宮でプレーし、主軸としてJ1で59試合11得点を記録。クロアチア代表としてもプレーし、大宮に所属した前後では韓国の水原三星ブルーウィングスで合計5シーズンプレーした。 アジアをよく知り、日本のことも知るマト氏は、日本人のメンタリティについても言及。忍耐強いということを滞在時に学んだと明かした。 「継続性と忍耐力は彼らの生き方の特徴の2つだ」 「2年間について多くのことを学んだ。最初には私は落ち着くやり方を学んだ。日本ではストレスがない。毎日自分の仕事をして、最善を尽くすことができる」 「そうしていくことで、列に並ぶということを学ぶ。近道はない。文化は全く違うので、日本での生活は私を豊かにしてくれた」 そして、その経験から日本と対戦することがどういうことかというのがわかると語るマト氏。クロアチアとしては、我慢強く戦う必要があるとした。 「日本人について全て知ると、何が我々を待ち受けているのかがわかる。まさに塹壕戦(時間がかかる長期戦)。彼らはドイツ代表とスペイン代表にそれで勝利した」 「確かに、彼らを過小評価することはないが、長い戦いに備える必要がある」 「試合は決して簡単ではないが、経験がものを言うだろう」 2022.12.05 18:55 Mon
