フットボール界の過密日程化にまた1人のシティ選手が苦言…「選手のことも考えないと」「限界ある」「30歳で引退するかも」
マンチェスター・シティのスイス代表DFマヌエル・アカンジも近年のタイトスケジュールに苦言した。 フットボール界ではビジネス化が進む一方で、日程の過密化が今後のテーマに。代表でもプレーする有力選手であればあるほどハードスケジュールを強いられ、最近でもベルナルド・シウバや、ケビン・デ・ブライネらシティ勢が揃って警鐘を鳴らす。 そのなか、2022年夏のシティ入りからクラブと代表で127試合の出場数を積み上げるアカンジもますます休養の時間を作るのが難しくなる現状に苦言を呈した。イギリス『BBC』が報じる。 「とてもタフだよ。今季だけじゃなく、来季のことまで考えないと。リーグやカップ戦で優勝し、クラブ・ワールドカップ(CWC)の決勝に勝ち上がったとしよう。コミュニティ・シールドは3週間後だ」 「じゃあ、いつ休みなのかな? 冬はブレイクがない。運が良ければ2週間ぐらい休めるけど、それから戻って、次のシーズンだ。そして、次の夏はワールドカップ(W杯)だ。終わりがないね」 また、今後のCWCをはじめ、来るチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)も拡大化に伴って試合数が増加。国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)や欧州サッカー連盟(UEFA)のこうした動きも“悪手”に感じるようだ。 「次から次へと試合を重ねるばかりで、これから2、3年がどうなるか読めない。試合数を増やして、すべてがこれまでと同じようにいくなんて思えない。選手のことも考えないとね」 「どこかでもうプレーできないほど疲れ切るだろう、で、間違いなくケガもあるはず。僕らはできる限りハードにトレーニングし、体調万全だけど、それだって限界もある」 ちなみに、アカンジは冗談だが、「30歳で引退するかもしれないね!」とも。このままカレンダーの過密化が続けば、30歳前後で引退という流れができてもおかしくなさそうだ。 2024.09.16 17:40 Mon
