なでしこジャパン、池田太監督退任で思うこと/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録

JFA(日本サッカー協会)は21日、なでしこジャパン(日本女子代表)の池田太監督(53歳)が、契約満了に伴い退任することを発表した。池田監督は21年の東京五輪後になでしこジャパンの監督に就任。昨年夏のオーストラリア・ニュージーランド共催のW杯はベスト8、メダルを期待されたパリ五輪もベスト8で敗れて悲願のメダルには届かなかった。 JFAの佐々木則夫女子委員長は、世界大会での上位進出には新たな人材が必要と判断し、8月で契約の切れる池田監督に対して契約延長の申し出はしなかったという。そして後任には外国人指導者も対象に含まれるとし、10月26日に国立競技場で開催される予定の親善試合(対戦相手は未定)についても、早急に決める必要はないと監督の人選は含みを持たせた。関係者の話によると、佐々木委員長は現在のなでしこジャパンのサッカースタイルがカウンターになっていることに危機感を抱いているそうだ。かつてのようにマイボールの時間を長くして、ポゼッションスタイルがなでしこジャパンの本来のスタイルであるべきだと考えている。確かに佐々木監督は、澤穂希や宮間あやといった稀代の選手とともにW杯で優勝を果たし、ロンドン五輪でも銀メダルを獲得した。なでしこジャパンのポゼッションスタイルは、当時のアメリカのスンドハーゲ監督をして「一度ボールを失ったら取り返すのは難しい」と言わしめるほどだった。しかしドイツW杯優勝から13年が経ち、ポゼッションスタイルはなでしこジャパンの専売特許ではなくなった。どのチームもマイボールを大切にして、自陣から攻撃を組み立てようとする。もともとフィジカルの能力はなでしこジャパンよりも高い。そんな欧州のチームがボール保持率で日本を上回るのだから、必然的に昨年のW杯初戦のスペイン戦のように、なでしこジャパンはカウンターに活路を見いだすしかないのは自明の理である。それでも、あくまでポゼッションスタイルにこだわるというのなら、なでしこジャパンはとりかえしのつかないレベルまで落ちてしまうのではないかと危惧している。幸いなのは、新監督に外国人も含まれるという点だ。日本人だとどうしても過去の栄光にとらわれやすく、ポゼッションスタイルからの脱却も難しいのではないだろうか。その点、外国人監督なら現在のなでしこジャパンの実力を正当に判断し、欧州やアメリカなどと台頭に渡りあうにはどうすべきか先入観なしに考えられるのではないだろうか。技術に多少の難点があっても、ずば抜けて足が速いとか、190センチ近い長身FWを起用するといった“一芸に秀でた”選手の起用でカウンターに徹するのはいかがだろうか。ダメならやめればいいだけだ。金太郎飴ではないが、誰が出ても同じようなサッカースタイルは、一定のレベルを保てるアドバンテージがあるものの、対戦相手にとって慣れてしまえば脅威も半減してしまう危険がある。ポゼッションスタイルからの進化を図る意味でも、ポゼッションスタイルで成功を収めた佐々木女子委員長の交代もなでしこジャパンの復権に欠かせないのではないだろうか。 2024.08.22 22:30 Thu

【東アジアE-1サッカー選手権2025】日本代表 0ー0 中国代表(7月16日/水原ワールドカップ競技場) 19歳のFWが、新たな一歩を踏み出した。昨季19試合7ゴールを記録した日テレ・東京ベレーザの樋渡百花が、東アジアE-1選手権の第3戦・中国代表戦に先発出場。塩越柚歩と交代するまでの69分間のプレーは、収穫よりも課題が多く見つかったようだ。「初めてのスタメンで緊張はあったんですけど、『思いっきりやってやろう』っていう気持ちで、失うことはないかなと思ったので、そういう気持ちで入りました」という言葉通り、A代表のデビュー戦では数少ないチャンスの中で勢いよくゴールに向かっていった。 22分には成宮唯の浮き球のスルーパスを引き出すと、ボックス内で右足を力強く振り抜く。シュートはGKに阻まれたが、前半の中では最も大きな決定機と言えるプレーだった。「ちょうど唯さんが声を掛けてくれて、裏に抜け出したんですけど、シュートする前にワンテンポ置いちゃったところがあり、そこで相手に追いつかれたかなと思うので、もう少し早い判断ができればよかったかなと思います」と試合後には反省を口にしていた。だが、それはストライカーらしい動きでもあった。今大会のなでしこジャパンには生粋のセンターフォワードが多くなく、初戦で1トップを張ったのはセンターバックが本職の高橋はなで、第2戦は2列目が主戦場の吉田莉胡だった。今大会のメンバーでは貴重な人材だったことに加え、ロングボールの蹴り合いによりチームとしてのチャンス数が多くなかった試合でゴールに迫ることができたのだから、170cmの大型FWは一定のインパクトを残せたという見方もできる。しかし、本人は全くと言っていいほど満足していなかった。「前線からの守備をもっと強度高くやったり、得点力だったりポストプレーっていうのももっと伸ばしていかないといけないなっていうふうに思います」樋渡がピッチを退いた後、なでしこジャパンは2度の得点チャンスがあった。それを作ったのは、センターバックで先発していた高橋。しかも、樋渡が作ったチャンスよりも惜しいものであり、ニルス・ニールセン監督も試合後の記者会見で「勝てる試合だった」と総括した根拠にもなっていた。タフに守りながらゴールにも迫ったキャプテンのプレーは、19歳のFWの目にはどう映っていたのか。「はなさんはディフェンスの選手でありながらFWでもプレーしているというところで、素直にすごいなっていう気持ちがあるのと、はなさんはとてもフィジカルが強くて、決定力もあるなっていうふうに思うんですけど、自分は違う特徴を持ってるのかなとも思う。はなさんの良いところも盗みながら、自分のプレーも出していきたいです」と、刺激を受けているようだ。 19歳のFWが目標とするのは、マンチェスター・シティとノルウェー代表でゴールを量産する規格外のストライカーだ。「海外の選手で言うと、ハーランド選手。身長が高くて、似ていると言っていいのかわからないですけど、タイプは少し重なるところがあるかなと思うので、抜け出しやシュートテクニックは参考にしています」 10日間で3試合を戦った濃密な時間を、近い将来、新エースに名乗りを上げるための試金石にするために──。まずは8月に開幕するWEリーグの新シーズンで、持ち帰った課題の克服にトライしたい。 2025.07.16 22:00 Wed

1人だけ時間がゆっくりと流れている。そう錯覚するほど、チームがボールを保持している時のプレーに余裕があった。 7月7日、東アジアE-1選手権を戦うなでしこジャパンの練習初日を見学していると、11対11のゲーム形式でチームのビルドアップを完全掌握する選手がいた。その名は、北村美羽。161cmのMFは[4-1-4-1]のアンカーに入ると、チームのパスワークをなめらかにさせていた。中盤の底に留まりつつ、タイミングよく顔を出すことで後方からのパスを引き出す。少ないタッチで相手のプレッシャーをいなし、テンポ良く左右に配球していく。止める・蹴るといった基礎技術が高いことに加え、常に顔が上がっていて周囲の状況把握も的確。身振り手振りで全体に指示も出す。北村を中心にボールが動き、相手陣内にボールを運んでいた。「ビルドアップは長所としてやっています。いろいろな選手がいる中で、全員が流動的に動くと、バランスが崩れやすくなってしまうので、ああいうポジション(アンカー)をやるときはバランスを意識しています。自分が長い時間ボールを持つというよりは、状態が良い選手にどんどん渡したいっていう意識が自分の中にはあるので、1タッチや2タッチでパスを出すようにしています」ボールを触る回数は多かったが、自分のターンやドリブルで相手のプレスを直接的に無効化するシーンはほとんどなかった。それでも、パスの経由地点になることで、相手チームに奪い所を絞らせず、確実にボールを前線に届けていく。軽やかに、鮮やかに攻撃のタクトを振っていた。 21歳の司令塔は、今回が代表初選出だった。中学生から高校生までの6年間をジェフユナイテッド千葉レディースで過ごし、東洋大学を経て、2024-25シーズンにジェフ千葉レディースに加入。2023-24シーズンから特別指定選手としてWEリーグのピッチには立っていたが、大卒ルーキーのシーズンを戦い終えたタイミングでのニルス・ニールセン監督からの招集は、まさに寝耳に水だったようだ。「選ばれると思わなかった。それが正直な気持ちでした。だけど、すごくうれしいことでもありますし、素晴らしい選手と一緒に素晴らしい舞台で戦える。しっかりと自信に繋げていきたいです」練習でボールの動かし方を情熱的に指導していたニールセン監督には全3試合のうち2試合に先発起用され、どちらもフル出場した。代表デビューとなった初戦のチャイニーズ・タイペイ戦は、「誇らしい気持ちと楽しみな気持ちで試合に入りました。リズムを掴むのに少し時間が掛かっちゃいましたけど、緊張し過ぎずに臨めたと思います」と、堂々とプレー。押し込む展開の中、練習で見せていたようにパスワークを円滑にさせた。さらに、中盤の底からインサイドハーフを飛ばして最前線の高橋はなに届ける縦パスで、相手の守備ブロックを切り裂いた。ゴールやアシストはなかったものの、攻撃のスイッチを入れる役割を全うした。自分の特長は出せた。だが、満足はしていなかった。「試合前にコーチから三浦成美選手の守備の映像を見せてもらっていたので、守備のリスク管理やポジショニングは意識できました。後半は攻めていた中で自分のポジションが低くなってしまったので、もう少し前でしっかりとルーズボールを取れるようにしていきたいなと思います」守備での改善点を踏まえて臨んだ第3戦の中国戦は、勝利すれば優勝だったが、追いつかれる形で1-1での引き分けに終わり、結果的に3位で大会をフィニッシュ。3連覇を達成することはできなかった。「勝つためだけに全員がピッチに入りました。勝ち切れなかったのは、自分個人としても弱さが出た」と開口一番に反省を述べ、「もっとボールを引き出すことができれば良かったんですけど、相手がアンカーを消しにくる形だった。(後ろに)落ちても良かったんですけど、落ち過ぎると今度は中央が枚数的に難しくなってしまう。そこは正直、自分としては難しかったんですけど、お互いロングボールが増えてきたので、その中ではセカンドボールを意識しました」と、ビルドアップへの関与という自分の良さを出すシーンを多く作れなかったことを分析していた。だが、何もできなかったわけではない。後半には前に出ていき、相手と競り合いながらルーズボールを回収。これは初戦の後に課題に挙げていたプレーであり、短期間の中で修正力も示した。 10日間で3試合を戦った過密日程の大会で、代表キャリアを歩み始めた。記録にも記憶にも残る日の丸の第一歩は、自分に気づきを与えてくれるものになったようだ。「自分の立ち位置というか、まだまだな部分がたくさんあるなと感じたし、自分が海外でプレーするためにどういう部分が必要なのかがすごくわかった。自分の良さだけじゃなくて、フィジカルの部分だったりそういうところは海外でもっと突き詰めていけたらいいなと思います」今大会のチームは、WEリーグに所属する選手で構成された。いわゆるWEリーグオールスターだ。しかし、北村は大会後にヨーロッパでプレーする。8年間を過ごした千葉Lからリンシェーピング(スウェーデン)への移籍を決断してE-1に臨んでいたのだ。「もともと目立つ選手ではないと自分の中では思っていて。その中でしっかりと自分の良さを出していくと、やっぱり見てくださる人は見てくれるんだなっていうのを今回(海外チームからのオファーと代表初招集で)感じることができました」夢だったなでしこジャパンと海外挑戦のスタート地点に立つことはできた。ここからは約2年後のワールドカップのメンバー入りを目指して戦うことになる。アンカーのポジションには、長谷川唯や三浦成美、長野風花など実力経験共にトップレベルの選手がひしめき合う。割って入るのは簡単なことではない。それでも、北村にはパスワークの潤滑油になれる技術と目と思考力がある。それはボールを保持して攻撃を組み立てるニールセン体制との親和性も高い。トランジションやインテンシティが重要視される時代を逆行するかのようにやってきた新たなレジスタは、今大会の経験を糧に海外で研鑽を積んでいく。その先に代表定着を勝ち取る日が来れば、ニールセン監督は2025年のE-1選手権で貴重な人材を発見したことになるだろう。取材・文=難波拓未 2025.07.21 21:07 Mon
