21日、プリメイラ・リーガ第23節のサンタ・クララvsポルティモネンセが行われた。サンタ・クララの日本代表MF守田英正はフル出場、FW田川亨介は88分から途中出場。一方ポルティモネンセのMF中島翔哉は先発し、88分までプレーした。リーグ10位のサンタ・クララが9位のポルティモネンセをホームに迎えた一戦は、右サイドで先発した中島が惜しい場面を作るものの、43分にサンタ・クララが先制。カウンターからゴールを奪った。

迎えた後半には両チームにチャンスが続出。守田のポスト直撃のシュートもあるが、どちらもゴールには届かない。
すると80分、中島がボックス左手前でボールを持つと、ボックス内の味方を確認してから右足でクロス。完全に相手の裏を取ったDFファド・モウフィが頭で合わせ、同点のゴールとなった。

その後は両チームともに勝ち越しゴールを狙ったものの、ゴールは生まれず。試合はそのまま1-1の引き分けで終了となった。

「全ての監督が日本人を指導すべき」守田英正に感銘を受けたスポルティング監督が絶賛「良いことしか言えない」

日本代表スタメン発表! 1トップは上田綺世、久保建英や堂安律ら順当にスタメンに【2026W杯アジア最終予選】

2024年の世界得点王はスポルティングFWギョケレシュ! 驚異の63戦62ゴール、2021年のレヴァンドフスキに迫る
