28日、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)決勝のリバプールvsレアル・マドリーがパリのスタッド・ドゥ・フランスで行われ、0-1で勝利を収めたマドリーが4年ぶり14度目の戴冠を果たした。
今シーズンの欧州王者を決める戦いには、各界のスターたちも観戦に訪れたが、その1人がNBAのユタ・ジャズに所属しているルディ・ゴベアだ。
216cmの高身長を武器にNBA最優秀守備選手賞にも選ばれているゴベアは、優勝直後のピッチに降り立つと、マドリーの選手たちと記念撮影。GKティボー・クルトワ、MFエデン・アザール、FWカリム・ベンゼマとそれぞれ2ショット写真も撮影した。
ゴベアは自身のインスタグラムでそれらの写真を投稿しているが、あまりのサイズにファンが衝撃。特に、CL決勝でも200cmの身長をいかして好セーブを見せたクルトワとの並びには、「クルトワですら小さく見える」、「200cmのクルトワが小さく見えてしまう衝撃」と驚きの様子だ。
その他にも「でっかぁ」、「大きすぎる」、「アザールだって小さいわけじゃないのに」、「コラ画像にしか見えない」といった声が上がっており、アスリートの中でも大きいゴベアのサイズに中々理解が追いつかないようだ。

セビージャのモロッコ代表GKボノ(31)が、スペイン『Relevo』のインタビューで選手キャリアを振り返った。
カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)で好セーブを連発し、モロッコを、ひいてはアフリカ諸国として史上初のベスト4に導いたボノ。この活躍を受け、長期離脱したマヌエル・ノイアーの代役を探すバイエルンからの関心が伝えられるなど、去就が注目されている。
インタビューではカナダでの出生から現在に至るまでを回想。21歳で欧州初挑戦の地として選択したアトレティコ・マドリー時代では、加入からしばらくホームシックにかかっていたと明かす。
「最初は大変だった。モロッコが恋しくなり、毎日泣いていたよ。転機は2年目の終わりかな。ティボー・クルトワ(現レアル・マドリー)がチームを去り、ポジションを争う決心をした。結局はヤン・オブラクが来て、僕はローンに出されたけどね」
また、PK戦の末に勝利したカタールW杯のスペイン代表戦について問われると、「対スペイン」のPK戦の準備はしていなかったと語り、GKたちの参考になるようなエピソードも披露している。
「PK戦の準備? 特段何もしてなかったよ。普段からよくチームで練習の最後にチームメイトとPK対決をするんだ。キッカーには5回蹴ってもらって、1回でも外せば僕とコーチに500ユーロだ(笑)」
「PK戦で難しいのは、試合中ならキッカーじゃない選手との対戦だ。ブスケッツのキックを止めたとき、僕はバルサと対戦したときの彼が印象にあった。彼はいつも相手の動きを見てボールを蹴るよね」
「あの時のPK戦でも、彼は僕が先に動くのを待っていた。でも動じなかったよ。止められるかどうかは運も必要だけどね」
セルヒオ・ブスケッツのPKの傾向はデータがなかったとしつつ、普段のプレースタイルから大事な部分を抽出した格好のボノ。PK戦の極意を披露したが、お金の「賭け」だけは真似しないでほしい。

NECナイメヘンの元デンマーク代表MFラッセ・シェーネ(37)。稀代のフリーキッカーはもう1年、ピッチに立つことを決めた。オランダ『Voetbal International』が伝える。
日本代表FW小川航基、そしてMF佐野航大が所属するオランダ1部・エールディビジのNECは17日、キャプテンを担う37歳シェーネとの契約を1年間更新したと発表。
このシェーネ、母国デンマークでプロデビュー後、現在に至るまで約20年間ほとんどの時期をオランダで過ごし、イングランドやスペイン歴もないが、抜群の知名度を誇る存在。なぜなら、当代屈指のフリーキッカーだからだ。
もはや伝説と言ってもよいのが、アヤックスで中軸を担っていた18-19シーズン。
チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)ラウンド16でレアル・マドリーと対峙し、敵地2ndレグ…シェーネは2戦合計4-3で迎えた72分、左サイドの角度のない位置から弾丸FKを叩き込み、結果マドリーを2戦合計5-3で下したアヤックスが8強入り。名手ティボー・クルトワはシェーネの凄まじい一撃に呆気に取られ、マドリーはCL4連覇が絶たれている。
シェーネはオランダ国内のタイトルを総なめしたアヤックスを退団後、イタリアでの1年半とヘーレンフェーンを経て、若手時代に所属したNECへ2度目の加入。気づけばエールディビジで通算「442」試合出場…外国籍選手で歴代最多の数字だ。
元々は今季でキャリアを終える意向だったようだが、NEC幹部の必死の説得により、契約を1年更新。今季に入って途中出場とケガが増えたことも影響し、22年3月を最後にFKからのゴールがないシェーネ…来季は是非とも観たいし、ストライカー小川にはたくさんFKを獲得してもらいたい。

パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシが試合中に感情を露わにした。
PSGは9日、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)ラウンド16の2ndレグでレアル・マドリーとアウェイで対戦。1stレグを先勝し、2ndレグも先制したものの1-3の逆転負けを喫し、2戦合計2-3でベスト16敗退が決まった。
3トップの右でフル出場したメッシは、前半こそ効果的なプレーを見せていたものの、ゴールに直結する活躍を見せられず。試合中にはフラストレーションを露わにする場面もあった。
PSGが1点をリードして迎えた前半アディショナルタイム、PSGはカウンターからチャンスを創出。ボックス左でネイマールが仕掛けたが、相手DFがストップ。しかし、ルーズボールをマルコ・ヴェッラッティが拾った。
この際、メッシがボックス内へと走り込んだものの、ヴェッラッティのチョイスはファーサイドのアクラフ・ハキミへのクロス。競り合いとなったのち、ボールはマドリーのGKティボー・クルトワがキャッチし、PSGはチャンスを逃した。
走り込んで左足ダイレクトで決めるのはメッシの十八番でもあるが、ボールが出てこなかったことにメッシは怒り。ヴェッラッティの方を向き、両手を前に出しながら大きく叫んでいた。
メッシが感情をむき出しにするシーンには、多くのファンも反応。「バルサならパス来てた」、「(ジョルディ・)アルバだったら」、「メッシの得意なやつなのに」といった声が上がっていた。

レアル・マドリーのスペイン代表MFダニエル・カルバハル(30)が、モデルのダフネ・カニサレスさん(32)と結婚した。
マドリーの育成組織出身の30歳は、2012-13シーズンにレバークーゼンでのプレーを経て、翌年以降はマドリーを支え続けてきた。今季は2シーズンぶり35回目のラ・リーガ制覇や14回目のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)優勝にも貢献している。
クラブの歴史をまた1つ積み上げたカルバハルは、24日、モデルのダフネ・カニサレスさん(32)と結婚。招かれた約250人の前で愛を誓い合った。式にはチームメイトや関係者などが招かれ、ゲストの中にはベルギー代表GKティボー・クルトワ夫妻の姿もあった。
2人には1歳半になる息子のマルティンくんがいる。スペイン『HOLA』によれば、カニサレスさんは元客室乗務員のオランダ系のスペイン人モデルで、現在は結婚式や社交イベントの企画をする会社のオーナーだ。
また自身もウエディング・プランナーであり、2人の式は彼女が出かけたとのことだ。カニサレスさんには双子の姉妹メラニーさんがおり、アラベスでプレーするFWホセルと結婚している。
