インテル・マイアミのウルグアイ代表FWルイス・スアレスがまたしても噛み付き行為を見せてしまった。
スアレスといえば噛み癖がある選手として知られ、アヤックス時代の2010年にはPSV戦でオットマン・バッカルの左肩を噛んで7試合の出場停止処分を受けた。
リバプール移籍後の2013年にはチェルシー戦でブラニスラフ・イバノビッチの腕に噛み付き、10試合の出場停止に。さらに、ウルグアイ代表としても2014年のブラジル・ワールドカップのイタリア代表戦でジョルジョ・キエッリーニの左肩に噛みつき、ウルグアイ代表として9試合の出場停止、さらに4カ月のサッカー活動禁止処分を受けていた。
その後は噛み付き行為が話題になることはなかったスアレスだったが、10日に行われたCONCACAFチャンピオンズカップ準々決勝2ndレグのロサンゼルスFC(LAFC)戦でまさかの行為に出ていた。
LAFC戦の89分にピッチ上で乱闘が発生。リオネル・メッシに対する激しいファウルの後、両チームが揉み合うことに。するとその中に他スアレスが、自身を掴む横の選手の右手指に噛みつこうとした。
左手ではしっかりと首をホールドし、逃げられないようにした上で噛み付いた相手は、なんとチームメイト。元スペイン代表DFジョルディ・アルバに噛みついてしまい、フランス代表FWオリヴィエ・ジルーが心配して駆け寄る状態となった。
スアレスも同じピンク色のユニフォームが目に入ったのか、驚いた顔を見せていたが、10年以上経って再び噛み付きで話題になるとは予想外の出来事。今回の行動で処分が下されることはなさそうだが、38歳を迎えても癖は簡単に治らなそうだ。

6日、来日しているインテル・マイアミの来日記念パーティーが開催。集まった豪華メンバーに注目が集まっている。
元イングランド代表MFのデイビッド・ベッカム氏が共同オーナーを務めるメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のインテル・マイアミ。アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシをはじめ、ウルグアイ代表FWルイス・スアレス、元スペイン代表MFセルヒオ・ブスケッツ、DFジョルディ・アルバと元バルセロナの選手が多く所属している。
そのインテル・マイアミは、2024シーズンの開幕を前にプレシーズンツアーを実施。アル・ヒラル、アル・ナスルのサウジアラビア勢と戦った後、4日に香港選抜チームと対戦。7日には「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」にて国立競技場でヴィッセル神戸と対戦することとなっている。
6日の昼には、神戸戦に向けた記者会見も実施されていたなか、夜には来日記念パーティーが開催。「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」の公式X(旧ツイッター)がその様子を伝えている。
最高額は1人300万円というスペシャル・エクスペリエンス・シートのチケットを持っている一般の参加者もいる中、パーティーには、インテル・マイアミの選手だけでなく、メッシらとバルセロナでも一緒にプレーし、神戸でもプレーしていた元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタ(現エミレーツ・クラブ)や神戸の三木谷浩史代表取締役会長の姿もあった。
豪華メンバーの集まりには、ファンも「ほぼバルサの同窓会じゃん」、「これは夢ですか?」、「当時のスタメン5人が式典に居るって凄いです」、「メンツえぐすぎる」とコメント。3冠達成を果たした2014-2015シーズンなどバルセロナの黄金期の主力を担った選手たちの再会に喜びの声を寄せている。

アル・ナスルのポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウド(40)が、再び世界で最も稼ぐアスリートとなった。アメリカ『フォーブス』が伝えた。
サッカー界のスーパースターの1人であるC・ロナウド。初めて世界で最も稼ぐアスリートになってから9年。40歳になった中で、3年連続5度目のナンバーワンとなった。
スポルティングCPで才能を見出され、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドで輝きを放ち、レアル・マドリーで全盛期を迎えると、ユベントス、ユナイテッドでプレーし、現在はサウジアラビアのアル・ナスルでプレー。AFCチャンピオンズリーグ・エリート(ACLE)では準決勝で川崎フロンターレに敗れてアジア王者は逃したが、その存在感は健在だ。
サッカー界のNo.1プレーヤーという肩書きは譲りつつあるものの、この1年間で稼いだ金額は推定2億7500万ドル(約399億6000万円)とのこと。これは自己最高記録であり、歴代でも2015年に3億ドル、2018年に2億8500万ドルを稼いだプロボクサーのフロイド・メイウェザーだけとなっている。

インテル・マイアミのオーナーであるデイビッド・ベッカム氏が、対戦相手のインスタグラムで苦言を呈している。
10日に行われたメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)でインテル・マイアミはアウェイでミネソタ・ユナイテッドと対戦した。
今季はここまで結果が出ていないインテル・マイアミ。この試合では、リオネル・メッシ、セルヒオ・ブスケッツ、ジョルディ・アルバが揃って先発出場した中、試合はミネソタ・ユナイテッドが圧倒。前半で2点のリードを奪うと、後半早々にメッシが1点を返すも、その後に2点を奪い、4-1でミネソタ・ユナイテッドが勝利を収めた。
両チームはカンファレンスが異なるものの、インテル・マイアミは勝ち点21となったが、ミネソタ・ユナイテッドは勝ち点22としてインテル・マイアミを超えることに。すると、その順位表のスクリーンショットをインスタグラムに投稿。「Pink Phony Club」のメッセージを添えていた。
これはインテル・マイアミのチームカラーであるピンクと、2025年の第67回グラミー賞で最優秀新人賞を受賞したチャペル・ローンの『Pink Pony Club』をかけた投稿となった。
この投稿に対し、ベッカム氏は「少しは敬意を示し、勝利に優雅さを」とコメント。相手クラブの投稿に言及。さらに、試合中にミネソタ・ユナイテッドのサポーターが掲げた「History Over Hype Cluture Over Cash(誇大広告よりも歴史を、キャッシュより伝統を)」という横断幕の写真もアップしたが、これにベッカム氏は「全てに敬意を払う」とコメントしていた。
MSLのルールの範囲内とはいえ、スター選手を多く抱えているインテル・マイアミを揶揄する投稿。結果で見返す以外はなさそうだ。

インテル・マイアミのアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシがイメチェンした。
2016年のコパ・アメリカの時からゲン担ぎで髭を伸ばすようになったメッシ。それからは髭を蓄えた姿が基本となっている。
今夏加入したインテル・マイアミでもずっと髭を蓄えていたメッシだが、19日の練習にスベスベのお肌で登場。久々の姿にはファンから「逆に違和感」、「昔を思い出す」、「一気に若返った」、「こっちの方が好き」と様々な反響が集まっていた。
ほぼ毎年バロンドールの授与式前には髭を剃るメッシだが、今年の授与式は10月30日に予定されており、それに合わせたとしてはやや早い印象だ。何か心境の変化があったのだろうか。
そのメッシは、髭を剃った後に行われた後の20日に行われたトロントFC戦に先発出場。7日のエクアドル代表戦にアルゼンチン代表の一員として出場して以来の実戦となったが、37分で自ら交代を要求し途中交代となった。
どこかを負傷したわけではなく疲労の蓄積ということだが、インテル・マイアミは24日にはオーランド・シティとのリーグ戦、27日にはヒューストン・ダイナモとのUSオープンカップの決勝戦を控えており、離脱となれば大きな痛手となる。
まずはUSオープンカップ決勝での復帰を目指すメッシだが、回復は間に合うだろうか。
