ポルトは8日、U-21ポルトガル代表MFロドリゴ・モラ(18)との契約を2030年6月30日まで延長したことを発表した。この新契約によって契約解除条項は7000万ユーロ(約114億6000万円)に設定されている。
ポルトの下部組織出身でブラガやモレイレンセなど国内の複数クラブでプレーしたホセ・マヌエル氏を父親に持つモラ。
その父と同じポルトのアカデミーからキャリアをスタートした168㎝の攻撃的MFは、ポルトガル屈指の名門、ポルトガル代表の世代別チームで常に注目を集めてきた。
プロ契約前にポルトBでリーグ史上最年少(15歳8カ月10日)のシニアデビューを飾ると、2023年11月には当時のセグンダ・リーガ(ポルトガル2部)の最年少ゴール記録(16歳6カ月6日)を樹立し、今シーズンはファーストチームに定着。
昨年10月のAvs戦ではクラブ歴代3位となる17歳5カ月23日でのゴールも記録。今季ここまではプリメイラ・リーガで21試合8ゴール4アシストと見事な数字を残している。
傑出した攻撃センス、テクニック、クイックネスに加え、ここに来て決定力まで身に着けた18歳の怪物にはすでに国外のビッグクラブも関心を示しており、クラブは今後の売却も見据えて条件面を改善した新契約を締結するに至った。

かつてはJリーグでもプレーし、現在はブラジルのアトレチコ・ミネイロでプレーしている元ブラジル代表FWフッキが、Jリーグを離れた時のことを振り返った。スペイン『アス』が伝えた。
フッキはサンパウロの下部組織からヴィトーリアの下部組織へと移籍。そのままファーストチームへ昇格すると、2005年7月に川崎フロンターレへと完全移籍。Jリーグでのキャリアをスタートさせる。
川崎Fでの出場機会をあまり得られず、北海道コンサドーレ札幌、東京ヴェルディへとレンタル移籍を経験。札幌では公式戦41試合で26ゴール1アシスト。東京Vではその後完全移籍をはたし、公式戦56試合45ゴールと驚異の得点力を見せていた。
2008年4月に川崎Fから東京Vへと完全移籍したフッキだが、その年の7月にポルトへと完全移籍。そのポルトでは公式戦169試合に出場し77ゴール61アシストと結果を残すと、4度のリーグ優勝、3度のカップ戦優勝、そしてヨーロッパリーグ優勝を経験。2010-11シーズンは3冠達成とともに、プリメイラ・リーガでの得点王も獲得していた。
その後に加入したゼニトや上海上港(現上海上港)でも結果を残したフッキは、今シーズンから母国へと復帰し、アトレチコ・ミネイロでプレーしている。
そのフッキは、自身にとってキャリアを大きく変えたポルトへの移籍についてコメント。自分を示すことができたとし、今も変わらぬ愛があると語った。
「サッカー界の知名度という点では、世界中で認知され、リスペクトされている僕の名前からしても、ポルトは“入り口”だったと言えるだろう」
「僕のキャリアはヴィトーリア(ブラジル)でスタートし、日本に渡った。そして22歳でポルトに到着した。自分がプレーした中で、最も大きなステージに立っていた」
「アジアのサッカーからヨーロッパへとやってきた。あまり知られた存在ではなかったが、短期間で自分の居場所を確保し、クラブや国で尊敬されるようになり、チャンピオンズリーグでプレーし、ポルトで歴史を作ることができた」
「ポルトは僕の心の中にあるクラブだ。僕にとって、120年以上の歴史を持つ施設があること、クラブの歴史の中で“選ばれし11人”がいる博物館があること、そして僕が最も多くの票を得たことはとても喜ばしいことだった」
「そこには僕の銅像がある。このような評価を受けたことはとても喜ばしいことだ。アトレチコでは、このようなことをしようとしてきた。この繋がりを持ち、このような歴史を持ち、記念すべきタイトルを獲得して歴史を築くためにだ」
また、東京Vからポルトに移籍する際には、アトレティコ・マドリーからのオファーもあったと告白。スペインでプレーする可能性もあった中、ポルトを選択した理由を明かした。
「2008年にポルトへと加入した時、2つのオファーがあった。ポルトとアトレティコ・マドリーのどちらかを選ぶことができた。ポルトを選んだのは、2001年か2002年にポルトガルに行った時、ポルトの試合を観に行ったからだ」
「UEFAカップ(現ヨーロッパリーグ)かチャンピオンズリーグの試合だったと思うが、スタジアムへ行ってみると超満員だった。あの素晴らしく美しいステージを見て、アルトゥールに向かって、いつかあそこでプレーして歴史に名を残すんだと言った」
「オファーを受けた時、その時のことを思い出した。もちろん、僕が加入した時は、エスタディオ・ド・ドラゴンになっていた。でも、それは予定されていたことで、僕はポルトのシャツを着る機会を得た。もちろん、アトレティコ・マドリーは世界中でリスペクトされているチームだ」

ポルトの選手や監督たちが飛行機の中で大はしゃぎをしてみせた。
26日、ポルトはチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)グループB第5節でクラブ・ブルージュとアウェイで対戦した。
この試合に勝利すれば、アトレティコ・マドリーvsレバークーゼンの結果次第でグループステージ突破が決まるポルト。前半にイラン代表FWメフディ・タレミのゴールで先制すると、後半の早い時間帯に2点を重ねリードを広げる。
70分には再びタレミが決めて、0-4で勝利。首位のクラブ・ブルージュを撃破した。
アトレティコvsレバークーゼンの試合の前に戦いを終え、帰路についていたポルト。プレッシャーをかけて移動していた中、その後に試合を行なったアトレティコは苦しい展開に。それでも2-2で迎えた終了間際にPKを獲得する。
決めれば劇的な逆転勝利。一方で、ポルトの面々からすれば引き分けに終わってくれれば2位以内が確定する大事な局面に。移動中の飛行機の中、選手などは各々集まってスマートフォンやタブレットでそのシーンを見守っていた。
このPKをヤニク・フェレイラ・カラスコが蹴るも、GKルーカス・フラデツキーがセーブ。こぼれ球をサーウル・ニゲスが頭で押し込むが、今度はクロスバー。さらにヘイニウド・マンダヴァが押し込むが、ゴールならず。そのまま2-2で試合は終了した。
劇的な瞬間を見守っていたポルトの選手やセルジオ・コンセイソン監督は、機内で大はしゃぎ。見事にベスト16に駒を進めた瞬間を見守り、喜びを分かち合っていた。

エスパニョールがCDグアダラハラのメキシコ代表FWアレクシス・ベガ(24)の獲得を目指すようだ。
メキシコを代表する強豪クラブのひとつであるグアダラハラで背番号10を背負うベガは、173cmと小柄ながらメキシコ人らしい巧みなボールコントロールや、重心の低いドリブルが特徴の左ウィンガーで、メキシコ代表では通算16試合3得点を記録。昨夏の東京オリンピックにも出場しており、3位決定戦のU-24日本代表戦でCKからヘディング弾を決めるなど、大会通算3得点を挙げ、銅メダル獲得に大きく貢献していた。
今秋のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)でもお目にかかれる可能性があるベガだが、アメリカ『ESPN』によると、エスパニョールが獲得に本腰を入れる見込みとなっており、W杯を目前にしてキャリア初のヨーロッパ移籍となる可能性は低くないようだ。
これまでにもPSVやポルトといった、欧州外の出身選手にとって登竜門となるクラブから関心を寄せられてきたベガだが、スペイン『ムンド・デポルディポ』の北米版によると、欧州へのステップアップは時間の問題とのことで、グアダラハラ側は移籍金1000万ドル(約13億5000万円)以上のオファーであればベガの売却を前向きに検討するとみられている。

AIがスタジアムをデザインしたら…。『433』が世界的に有名なサッカークラブのスタジアムをAIで作成している。
近年になって大きく発達したAIによる画像生成ツール。今では誰でも簡単に出来栄えの良い画像を作れる時代だ。
サッカー界でも、国内外のクラブがSNSを中心に話題を呼んでいる『AIイヤーブック』を活用。選手たちを“アメリカの学生”のような写真に加工し話題となっていた。
AIの画像生成は人物だけでなく風景やモノのイラストももちろん可能。『433』は選手ではなくスタジアムに焦点を当てて、AIを活用している。
『433』が作ったのは、ベンフィカ、バルセロナ、ガラタサライ、パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)、レアル・マドリー、ボカ・ジュニアーズ、アーセナル、ポルト、ミラン、バイエルンの8つのクラブのスタジアムだ。
PSGであればパリのエッフェル塔、ミランであればミラノのドゥオーモというように、クラブの本拠地近くの名所をデザインしたものもあれば、アーセナルの大砲やベンフィカの鷲、ポルトの龍といったようにエンブレムから逆算されたデザインのものも作られている。
オクトーバーフェストでお馴染みのバイエルンだけは、スタジアムの真横に巨大なビールとややおふざけ要素も含まれているが、いずれも秀逸だ。
それらのデザインについて、ファンも「最高にカッコイイ」、「これは夢が広がる」、「ベンフィカは最高に美しい」、「マドリーは本物の方がいい」とコメント。斬新なアイデアに目を奪われている。
エンブレムの要素をそのままスタジアム全体のデザインに採用するのはAIらしいが、ここまでワクワクするようなデザインになるのであれば、実際に見てみたい気もする。
