モロッコ代表FWユセフ・エン=ネシリが素晴らしい身体能力を発揮した。
10日に行われたカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)でポルトガル代表と対戦したモロッコ。自慢の堅守で相手の攻撃を防ぐと、42分に左サイドからのクロスにエン=ネシリがヘッドで合わせ、1-0で勝利。アフリカ勢史上初のベスト4進出を決めた。
この時のエン=ネシリは、最高到達点278センチメートルを記録したとされているが、これがポルトガルのエースFWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドの過去の記録を更新したかもしれない。
イギリス『SPORTBIBLE』は、同様にその高さで注目を集めたC・ロナウドのゴールと比較。2019年12月に行われたセリエA第17節サンプドリア戦で、当時ユベントスに所属していたC・ロナウドは最高到達点256cmを記録していた。
だが、スペイン『アス』によると、当時レアル・マドリーのC・ロナウドは2013年2月に行われたチャンピオンズリーグ・ラウンド16のマンチェスター・ユナイテッド戦で最高到達点293cmのヘディングシュートを決めていたといい、その場合だとC・ロナウドの記録は破られていないことになる。
データを取っているのが別々の場所のため、純粋な比較はできないかもしれないが、2人とも尋常ではない跳躍力だ。
なお、身長は2人とも188cmだ。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)を前に、モロッコ代表の監督を解任されたヴァイッド・ハリルホジッチ氏(69)が、監督キャリアを終える可能性があることを明かした。フランス『RMC Sport』が伝えた。
かつては日本代表も率いていたハリルホジッチ監督。モロッコ代表を率い、カタールW杯の出場権を獲得していたが、モロッコサッカー協会(FRMF)は8月11日、本大会まで3カ月のタイミングで退任を発表した。
FRMFは「カタールW杯に向けた最終段階の調整に関して見解の相違があったため、ハリルホジッチ氏と友好的に別れることに合意した」と発表していたが、背景は大きく異なる。
2019年8月にモロッコ代表の指揮官に就任し、2022年のカタールW杯出場に導いたハリルホジッチ監督。しかし、数カ月前からチェルシーのMFハキム・ツィエクやバイエルンのDFヌサイル・マズラウィら一部選手との確執により、チームの主力となりうる実力者を除外するなど、メンバー選考に関して批判の声が集まっていた。
監督としてはヴェレジュ・モスタルやボーヴェ・オワーズ、ラジャ・カサブランカ、リール、スタッド・レンヌ、パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)、トラブゾンスポル、アル・イテハド、ディナモ・ザグレブ、ナントなどのクラブチームの他、コートジボワール代表、アルジェリア代表、日本代表、そしてモロッコ代表と4カ国の代表チームを指揮した。
その4カ国ではいずれもW杯本大会に導く手腕を見せていたが、2018年の日本代表でも大会直前の親善試合で結果が出なかったことから解任され、西野朗監督が本大会では指揮。また、2010年のコートジボワールでもW杯前のアフリカ・ネーションズカップで結果が出ずに解任されていた。
史上初の4カ国で4大会連続の本大会出場を決める偉業を成し遂げながら、2大会連続、通算3回目の大会直前での解任の憂き目に遭ったハリルホジッチ氏。モロッコ代表の監督を退任した際の心境を語った。
「この決断は私にとって少し辛いものだった。むしろ、変な形でキャリを終えようとさえ思っている」
「それが人生だ。浮き沈みは激しいが、ちょっとやりすぎだ。サッカーにありがとうと言いたい」
選手の起用をめぐる問題などがありながらも、その手腕は高く評価され、モロッコ代表の監督を退任した後も「多くのオファーを受けた」とのこと。ただ、「どのオファーも受け入れない」と語り、実質的に監督業から引退することを決めたようだ。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の中で多くの人の感動を呼んだワンシーンが壁画となった。
初の冬開催となったカタールW杯も残すは3位決定戦と決勝戦の2試合のみ。17日にはクロアチア代表vsモロッコ代表、18日にはアルゼンチン代表vsフランス代表が行われる。
グループステージから多くの名シーンが生まれた今大会。日本代表もMF三笘薫がラインギリギリで折り返したシーンが世界中で話題になった。
一方で、乱闘騒ぎが起きたり、試合後に審判団への怒りを示すなど、悪い部分も見えたが、多くが感動的なシーンに。その中の1つはモロッコ代表で生まれた。
それはパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)に所属するDFアクラフ・ハキミの行動。アフリカ勢初となるベスト4進出という快挙を成し遂げたチームを牽引しているが、試合後に見せた母とのワンシーンが話題となった。
スタンドに応援に来ていた母のもとへと歩み寄るハキミ。母は愛する息子の活躍を祝い、ハグ、そして頬にキスをした。
母の愛情が感じられるワンシーンだが、ハキミは8歳でレアル・マドリーの下部組織に入団。母は息子の輝かしいキャリアを願い、人一倍働いてお金を稼いでいた。ハキミは過去に「母は掃除人として働き、父は露天商だった。彼らは僕のために命を捧げた。僕が成功するために、僕の兄弟からも多くのことを諦めさせた。彼らのためにプレーする」と語っており、家族への感謝の気持ちをもってプレーを続けていることを明かした。
そのハキミは、W杯という舞台でのモロッコ代表の躍進を母に感謝。そのワンシーンが、バルセロナで壁画になった。
素晴らしい出来栄えに多くの人が「うっとりする」、「本当に美しい」、「美しく描かれた美しい瞬間」、「モロッコはみんなの心を奪った」とコメント。感動を与えてくれたモロッコへの感謝も伝えられている。

出場権を獲得した元日本代表監督のヴァイッド・ハリルホジッチ監督が退任することとなったモロッコ代表。カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)に向けたユニフォームは、クラシックなスタイルをベースとしているようだ。
ハリルホジッチ監督に率いられ、2大会連続のW杯出場を決めたモロッコ。1986年のメキシコ大会以来となるグループステージ突破を目指して戦うこととなる。
監督との確執から招集がされていなかった、ハキム・ツィエク(チェルシー)などの一部選手は9月に復帰。ヨーロッパでプレーする実力者が揃っているだけに、一枚岩になれれば台風の目となる可能性は高い。
そのモロッコのホームユニフォームは、1998年のフランス大会で着用していたユニフォームからインスピレーション。クラシックな見た目となった。
国旗の赤をベースに襟や袖口は緑に。胸には中央にプーマのロゴが白で入っており、両サイドが緑のボーダーに。胸にはサッカー連盟のエンブレムが入っている。
アウェイユニフォームは、白がbーエス。中央には緑でプーマのロゴ、サッカー連盟のエンブレムがあり、背番号は赤。その周りには、モロッコの伝統的なモチーフであるライオンのたてがみが描かれている。
また、襟と袖は国旗の緑と赤で縁取られている。

モロッコ代表が主力サイドバック2人を欠いて次節のベルギー代表戦に臨む可能性が出てきている。
モロッコは23日に行われたカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のグループF第1節でクロアチア代表と対戦し、0-0で引き分けた。
同試合では前回大会準優勝チーム相手に堂々とした戦いぶりを見せたが、後半序盤に左サイドバックで先発したDFヌサイル・マズラウィが負傷。担架に乗せられてピッチを後にしていた。
さらに、フランス『フット・メルカート』によると、DFアクラフ・ハキミが同試合でハムストリングを負傷した可能性があるという。
クロアチア戦では後半にハムストリングの違和感を訴えながらもフル出場したハキミだが、現時点では中3日で臨む27日のベルギー戦の出場が微妙な状況のようだ。
仮に、ハキミが間に合わない場合、左サイドバックはDFヤヒア・アティヤト・アラーが引き続き代役を担う形となるが、右サイドバックは本職不在で戦うことになるかもしれない。
