ポルトは8日、U-21ポルトガル代表MFロドリゴ・モラ(18)との契約を2030年6月30日まで延長したことを発表した。この新契約によって契約解除条項は7000万ユーロ(約114億6000万円)に設定されている。
ポルトの下部組織出身でブラガやモレイレンセなど国内の複数クラブでプレーしたホセ・マヌエル氏を父親に持つモラ。
その父と同じポルトのアカデミーからキャリアをスタートした168㎝の攻撃的MFは、ポルトガル屈指の名門、ポルトガル代表の世代別チームで常に注目を集めてきた。
プロ契約前にポルトBでリーグ史上最年少(15歳8カ月10日)のシニアデビューを飾ると、2023年11月には当時のセグンダ・リーガ(ポルトガル2部)の最年少ゴール記録(16歳6カ月6日)を樹立し、今シーズンはファーストチームに定着。
昨年10月のAvs戦ではクラブ歴代3位となる17歳5カ月23日でのゴールも記録。今季ここまではプリメイラ・リーガで21試合8ゴール4アシストと見事な数字を残している。
傑出した攻撃センス、テクニック、クイックネスに加え、ここに来て決定力まで身に着けた18歳の怪物にはすでに国外のビッグクラブも関心を示しており、クラブは今後の売却も見据えて条件面を改善した新契約を締結するに至った。

エスパニョールがCDグアダラハラのメキシコ代表FWアレクシス・ベガ(24)の獲得を目指すようだ。
メキシコを代表する強豪クラブのひとつであるグアダラハラで背番号10を背負うベガは、173cmと小柄ながらメキシコ人らしい巧みなボールコントロールや、重心の低いドリブルが特徴の左ウィンガーで、メキシコ代表では通算16試合3得点を記録。昨夏の東京オリンピックにも出場しており、3位決定戦のU-24日本代表戦でCKからヘディング弾を決めるなど、大会通算3得点を挙げ、銅メダル獲得に大きく貢献していた。
今秋のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)でもお目にかかれる可能性があるベガだが、アメリカ『ESPN』によると、エスパニョールが獲得に本腰を入れる見込みとなっており、W杯を目前にしてキャリア初のヨーロッパ移籍となる可能性は低くないようだ。
これまでにもPSVやポルトといった、欧州外の出身選手にとって登竜門となるクラブから関心を寄せられてきたベガだが、スペイン『ムンド・デポルディポ』の北米版によると、欧州へのステップアップは時間の問題とのことで、グアダラハラ側は移籍金1000万ドル(約13億5000万円)以上のオファーであればベガの売却を前向きに検討するとみられている。

ポルトの選手や監督たちが飛行機の中で大はしゃぎをしてみせた。
26日、ポルトはチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)グループB第5節でクラブ・ブルージュとアウェイで対戦した。
この試合に勝利すれば、アトレティコ・マドリーvsレバークーゼンの結果次第でグループステージ突破が決まるポルト。前半にイラン代表FWメフディ・タレミのゴールで先制すると、後半の早い時間帯に2点を重ねリードを広げる。
70分には再びタレミが決めて、0-4で勝利。首位のクラブ・ブルージュを撃破した。
アトレティコvsレバークーゼンの試合の前に戦いを終え、帰路についていたポルト。プレッシャーをかけて移動していた中、その後に試合を行なったアトレティコは苦しい展開に。それでも2-2で迎えた終了間際にPKを獲得する。
決めれば劇的な逆転勝利。一方で、ポルトの面々からすれば引き分けに終わってくれれば2位以内が確定する大事な局面に。移動中の飛行機の中、選手などは各々集まってスマートフォンやタブレットでそのシーンを見守っていた。
このPKをヤニク・フェレイラ・カラスコが蹴るも、GKルーカス・フラデツキーがセーブ。こぼれ球をサーウル・ニゲスが頭で押し込むが、今度はクロスバー。さらにヘイニウド・マンダヴァが押し込むが、ゴールならず。そのまま2-2で試合は終了した。

欧州5大リーグ以外で最も市場価値が高い選手は…。
15日、スイスのスポーツ研究国際センター(CIES)サッカー観測所が、欧州5大リーグ以外でプレーする選手の中から、市場価値が最も高い10選手を発表した。
10人中6人を占めたのがプリメイラ・リーガ(ポルトガル1部)勢。またトップ3はいずれもポルトガル代表選手。若手の登竜門として名高いベンフィカ、スポルティングCP、ポルトは、市場価値が高い選手を生み出し続けているようだ。
一方で、欧州外から唯一ランクインしたのは、今夏のレアル・マドリー移籍が決定しているパウメイラスのブラジル代表FWエンドリッキ(17)。ポスト・ネイマールは4位に食い込んでいる。

いまや世界屈指の指揮官として名高いモウリーニョだが、彼の名が世界中に知れ渡ることになったのは、この頃だった。2002-03シーズンからポルトを率いたモウリーニョは、初シーズンからいきなりリーグ戦、国内カップ戦、UEFA杯(現EL)の3冠を達成する。そして、満を持してCLの舞台に登場した2003-04シーズンでは、さらなる偉業を成し遂げた。
国内リーグを制して2連覇を達成したチームは、欧州最高の舞台であるCLで快進撃を見せる。レアル・マドリーと同居したグループステージを2位で通過すると、決勝トーナメントで強豪マンチェスター・ユナイテッドと対戦。誰もがユナイテッドの勝ち抜けを予想したが、ポルトが戦前の予想を見事に覆した。
ホームで行われた1stレグで逆転勝利すると、続くオールド・トラフォードでの2ndレグでは試合終了直前にコスティーニャが値千金のゴールを記録。1-1のドローに持ち込み、ユナイテッド撃破を成し遂げた。ゴールの直後、オールド・トラフォードのタッチラインで豪快なロングランを見せたモウリーニョ。世界トップレベルの指揮官へと駆け上がる彼のキャリアで、大きな分岐点となったと言える試合となった。
