アーセナルは15日、2025-26シーズンのホームキットを発表した。
2年連続でプレミアリーグ2位のアーセナルは、今シーズンも残り2試合で2位に位置。無冠に終わったシーズンだったが、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)では決勝進出まであと一歩のところまで勝ち上がっていた。
新シーズンもアディダスのキットを着用するアーセナル。男女共通のキットとなる中、人間の心臓を創造的な装置として使い、バッジの背後にある生命の源へとサポーターを導くデザインとなっている。
オーソドックスなクラブカラーの赤が身頃となり、「Arsenal」の「A」が並べられたデザインに。また、肩口から袖、首元は白、アディダスのスリーストライプスも赤となっている。
アカデミー育ちのイングランド代表DFマイルス・ルイス=スケリーは「新しいユニフォームが大好きだ。新鮮に見える。素晴らしいサポーターの前でこれを着るのが楽しみだ」と語り、「彼らのエネルギーは僕たちを元気づけてくれる。このユニフォームを着てピッチに立つと、これまで以上にそのエネルギーを強く感じる」とコメントしている。
18日に行われるエミレーツ・スタジアムでのホーム最終戦のニューカッスル・ユナイテッド戦でお披露目される。
なお、このタイミングで選手の新背番号が発表。正守護神としてチームを支えるスペイン代表GKダビド・ラヤは背番号「1」に変更されることが決定。また、今シーズン飛躍のシーズンとなりつつあるMFイーサン・ヌワネリは「53」から「22」に変更となる。
ファンは「素晴らしいキットだ」、「このデザインは好きだ」、「当然買うぞ」、「CLのパッチが欲しかった」、「欲しいのはタイトルだ」、「これでタイトルを勝ち取るぞ」とコメントが寄せられている。

先週末に行われた第36節ではリバプールvsアーセナルの頂上決戦がドローに終わったほか、ニューカッスルvsチェルシーの上位対決は前者に軍配。また、マンチェスター・シティが最下位サウサンプトン相手に痛恨のドローとなった。
最終節前となる今節は17日にFAカップ決勝のクリスタル・パレスvsマンチェスター・シティ、21日にイングランド勢対決となったヨーロッパリーグ(EL)決勝が開催される影響で、16～20日に分かれての変則開催となる。
フライデーナイト開催となる2試合ではいずれもビルバオでのELファイナルを控える、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドとトッテナムが、いずれもアウェイで上位のチェルシーとアストン・ビラと対戦する。
16位のユナイテッドは前節、ウェストハムとの下位対決に臨んで0-2の敗戦。EL準決勝2ndレグ直後の試合ということもあり、若干のターンオーバーを敢行して臨んだホームゲームだったが、試合の際で相手に上回られて敗戦。加えて、DFヨロの負傷というアクシデントに見舞われ、リーグ戦は7試合勝利なしに。最優先はあくまで週明けのタイトルを懸けた大一番となるが、これ以上の離脱者は避けつつも、これ以上の不甲斐ない戦いは見せられない。
一方、5位のチェルシー(勝ち点63)は前節、ニューカッスルとのアウェイゲームで0-2の敗戦。開始直後にMFトナーリに先制点を奪われた上、前半半ば過ぎにはFWジャクソンの相手DFに対するエルボーがレッドカードと判断され、数的不利を背負うと、そのままホームチームに押し切られて公式戦連勝が「5」でストップ。トップ5争いでギリギリ出場圏内にとどまるが、下位との勝ち点差が縮まっている。対戦相手は大幅なターンオーバーが見込まれるが、残り試合で主砲ジャクソンをサスペンションで起用できず、最終節は1ポイント差で7位のノッティンガム・フォレスト(勝ち点62)とのアウェイゲームとなるため、勝ち点3奪取は必須だ。MFパーマーやFWペドロ・ネト、MFエンソ・フェルナンデスら主力の活躍に期待したい。
17位のスパーズは前節、クリスタル・パレスとのホーム開催のロンドン・ダービーで0-2の敗戦。GKにキンスキーを起用するなどユナイテッド同様に大幅にメンバーを入れ替えたエクスキューズはあったが、再三の際どいオフサイド判定などに助けられなければ、大差での敗戦もあり得た不甲斐ないパフォーマンスだった。また、決勝に向けては右の膝蓋骨の手術を受けたMFクルゼフスキが起用できない痛恨のアクシデントにも見舞われており、リーグ5戦未勝利で臨むアストン・ビラとのアウェイゲームでは主力のコンディション維持とともに中盤や前線のオプションも試したいところだ。
対戦相手となる6位のアストン・ビラ(勝ち点63)は前節、難敵ボーンマス戦を1-0で勝利。ライバルの取りこぼしを活かして逆転でのチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)出場権獲得へ望みを繋げた。負傷のFWラッシュフォードが今季絶望で、MFラムジーはボーンマス戦の退場で不在となるが、今のスパーズ相手のホームゲームであれば、勝ち点3を掴み取る可能性は高い。
サンデーナイト開催となる5試合では2位のアーセナル(勝ち点68)と3位のニューカッスル(勝ち点66)の直接対決が最注目カードとなる。
アーセナルは前節、王者リバプールとのアウェイ開催の頂上決戦を2-2のドローで終えた。圧倒された前半に2点のビハインドを背負ったが、後半にFWマルティネッリとMFメリーノのゴールで追いつく。だが、そのメリーノが2枚目のイエローカードで退場となり、試合終盤は割り切った守備的な戦いで勝ち点1を持ち帰る形となった。得失点差を考えれば、残り2試合で勝ち点1を得られればトップ5確定となるが、マグパイズ相手に2位の座を譲ることはできない。このホーム最終戦ではサスペンションのメリーノに加え、MFライス、MFジョルジーニョが負傷で不在と難しい戦いを強いられるが、負傷明けのFWハヴァーツの復帰も追い風に総力戦で勝ち点3を手にしたい。
一方、ニューカッスルは前節、チェルシーとの大一番を制して来季CL出場権獲得へ大きな勝ち点3を手にした。これで2位浮上のチャンスを得た一方、依然として最大の目標であるCL出場権獲得への戦いは続いており、気を引き締めて臨みたい。対ガナーズは今季の公式戦3試合全勝となっており、良いイメージでエミレーツ攻略といきたい。
マンデーナイトにはMF三笘薫を擁する9位のブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオンと、MF遠藤航が所属する王者のリバプールが対戦する。
ブライトンは前節、好調のウォルバーハンプトン相手に2-0の勝利。負傷明けの三笘も途中出場で復帰を果たした。ただ、フォレストの試合結果によって来季のヨーロッパ出場の可能性は潰え、残り2試合ではトップハーフフィニッシュが目標となる。それだけに、コンディションが万全ではない三笘らの起用には慎重な対応も必要となるが、今季2桁ゴール達成まであと1ゴールに迫るだけにその偉業達成を期待したい。
一方、リバプールも優勝決定後にチェルシー、アーセナルのロンドン勢相手に1分け1敗の結果に終わっており、アンフィールドで行われるパレスとの最終節を前に白星を取り戻したいところ。遠藤と三笘の日本人対決も期待しつつ、王者らしい戦いぶりを見せてほしい。
17日のFAカップ決勝から中2日となる20日に試合を行うマンチェスター・シティとクリスタル・パレスは、それぞれボーンマスとウォルバーハンプトンと対戦する。
4位のシティ(勝ち点65)は前節、FWハーランドが先発復帰となったセインツ戦で痛恨のゴールレスドロー。FAカップ決勝に弾みを付けられず、逆に、連勝が「4」でストップし、CL出場権争いにおいてよりシビアな立場に。まずは今季唯一のタイトルが懸かる聖地ウェンブリーの大一番に集中しつつ、ホーム最終戦では難敵チェリーズ相手に勝ち点3を奪取し、MFデ・ブライネのホームラストマッチを白星で飾りたいところだ。
MF鎌田大地を擁する12位のパレスはトップハーフフィニッシュへ若干の可能性を残すとともにホーム最終戦という部分で、在籍13年のDFウォードを白星で送り出すべくしっかりとした戦いを見せたい。

アーセナルは14日、6000人のサポーターを集めて、エミレーツ・スタジアムで公開トレーニングを実施。シーズン残り2試合に向けて、イベントを実施した。
週末のニューカッスル・ユナイテッド戦が今シーズンのホーム最終ゲームとなるアーセナル。チームはタイトルを逃した中、現在はプレミアリーグ2位確保、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)出場権獲得を目指すこととなる。
ファン・サポーターの前でトレーニングを行ったアーセナルだが、2月に太ももを負傷して離脱が続いていたドイツ代表FWカイ・ハヴァーツが復帰。シーズン最後に戻って来られることとなった。
選手たちはファンサービスも行い、残り2試合に向けて力をもらうこととなった。

▽事件は約13年前のオールド・トラフォード、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドvsアーセナルで起こった。当時のプレミアリーグは、ユナイテッドとアーセナルの2強時代。MFロイ・キーン、MFパトリック・ヴィエラという闘将に率いられていた両者の直接対決は、常に意地と意地がぶつかり合う激闘だった。
▽そして試合では、0-0で迎えたアディショナルタイムにFWディエゴ・フォルランがボックス内でDFマーティン・キーオンに倒されてPKを獲得。しかし、このPKキッカーを務めた名手ファン・ニステルローイは、シュートをバーに当ててしまった。
▽そして、試合は0-0のまま終了。宿敵の絶対的エースがPKを失敗したことにより勝ち点を獲得してテンションが上がったアーセナルの選手たちは、試合終了の笛とともにファン・ニステルローイを囲んで挑発。試合中も激しくやりあっていたキーオンは、ファン・ニステルローイに“ジャンピングチョップ”を敢行した。

アーセナルに加入したポーランド代表DFヤクブ・キヴィオルの彼女にも注目が集まっている。
23日にスペツィアから完全移籍でアーセナルに加入したキヴィオル。左利きの189㎝のDFで、安定した対人守備に加え、戦術眼とビルドアップ能力に長けた総合力の高いDFだ。
19年ぶりのプレミアリーグ制覇に近づけるための戦力として期待が高まるキヴィオルだが、イギリス『サン』は妻のクラウディア・コヴァルチクさんにも注目している。
彼女は2017年にドイツのトゥワークダンスのコンテストで優勝した経歴の持ち主とのこと。トゥワークダンスとは、お尻を動かし、音楽に合わせて挑発的に踊るヒップホップダンスの一種で、クラウディアさんは2018年のヨーロッパ大会でもセミファイナリストになったようだ。
