データおよびテクノロジーにおけるリーディングカンパニーの「ニールセン・グレースノート」が、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場する選手のインフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表した。
なでしこジャパンも出場する女子W杯。開幕までおよそ1カ月となった中で、各国の出場選手も決定している。
「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。
トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。
1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。
アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。
2位には、バルセロナのエースでありスペイン女子代表のエースでもあるMFアレクシア・プテジャス。フォロワーは280万人であり、1位のレーマンがどれほどのフォロワーを抱えているかがわかる。
2シーズン連続でUEFA年間最優秀女子選手、バロンドールを受賞。2021年にはFIFA最優秀女子選手賞を受賞している。
2022年にはスペイン女子初となる代表100キャップに到達。その後、前十字じん帯を損傷し女子ユーロは欠場していた。
3位は、サンディエゴ・ウェーブスに所属するアメリカ女子代表FWアレックス・モーガン。フォロワーは1000万人だが、増加率やエンゲージメント率が低く、価値は3位となった。
言わずと知れたアメリカのエースで、過去2度のW杯優勝を経験。2012年のロンドン・オリンピックでは金メダルを獲得している。アメリカ女子代表として200キャップ以上を記録し、120ゴール以上を決めている。

プレーヤーとしての注目はもちろんのこと、インフルエンサーとしても注目を集める選手が多い女子W杯。残念ながらなでしこジャパンの選手はトップ10に入らなかったが、注目したいところだ。

元ドイツ代表MFのミヒャエル・バラック氏(44)の次男に、父の長年のパートナーがメッセージを送った。
5日、かつてバイエルンやチェルシー、レバークーゼンで活躍したバラック氏の次男、エミリオ・バラック(18)が四輪バイクの事故で逝去したと伝えられた。
事故はバラック氏が数年前にリスボン南西のトロイアに購入した家の近くで発生。エミリオは事故当時にクアッドバイクの車両から消防士によって救出されたが、その後に死亡が確認されたとのことだ。
2002年に生まれたエミリオはバラック氏が前妻のシモーネ・ラム(45)との間に設けた3人の息子の内の一人で、兄弟には1歳違いの兄であるルイ、4歳下の弟であるジョルディがいた。
バラックの家族はまだエミリオの死について公に何かを伝えてはいない。ただ、長年交際を続けているナターシャ・タヌスさん(37)が自身のインスタグラムで哀悼の意を示している。

▽7日にドルトムントの本拠地ジグナル・イドゥナ・パルクで昨季限りで現役を引退した元ドイツ代表GKロマン・ヴァイデンフェラー(38)の引退試合が行われた。ドルトムントが公式サイトで同試合のマッチレポートを伝えた。
▽カイザースラウテルンの下部組織出身で同クラブでトップチームデビューを飾ったヴァイデンフェラーは2002年のドルトムント移籍以降、同クラブで16年間を過ごしたドルトムントのレジェンドだ。また、ドイツ代表としても通算5試合に出場し2014年のブラジル・ワールドカップでは控えGKとして優勝を経験していた。
▽今回の引退試合ではドルトムントの現役選手とクラブOBを中心とするBVBオールスターズ、ドイツ代表のOBを中心にヴァイデンフェラーの友人たちで構成されたロマン&フレンズによるオールスター形式の一戦に。前述のBVBオールスターズの指揮官はドルトムントでヴァイデンフェラーを指導した現リバプール指揮官のユルゲン・クロップ監督、ロマン&フレンズの指揮官は同選手にとってキャリア最後の指揮官となったペーター・シュテーガー監督が務めた。
▽そして、7万109人の大観衆を集めた一戦で主役のヴァイデンフェラーは前半にロマン&フレンズ、後半にBVBオールスターズでプレー。試合はアレクサンダー・フライの開始3分のゴールでBVBオールスターズが先制に成功するも、ロマン&フレンズも現ヴィッセル神戸FWルーカス・ポドルスキのゴールですぐさま追いつく。だが、37分にはモハメド・ジダンのゴールによってBVBオールスターズが1点リードで前半を終えた。
▽迎えた後半、立ち上がりにロマン&フレンズのポドルスキがPKを蹴るもここは主役のヴァイデンフェラーが見事に阻止。さらに、この試合では攻撃の主役を担ったヴァイデンフェラーが74分と90分に得たPKをきっちり決め切って自身の引退に花を添える。また、85分にもエリック・シュミットのPKをストップしたヴァイデンフェラーはBVBオールスターズの4-1の勝利に貢献し、文句なしのマン・オブ・ザ・マッチに輝いた。
▽その後、両チームの選手たちから胴上げされたこの日の主役は、「すべての仲間たち、すべてのチームメート、そしてもちろん、すべてのファンに心から感謝しています」と引退スピーチを行い、試合中の熱狂とは裏腹にジグナル・イドゥナ・パルクは一転して感傷的なムードに包まれた。
▽また、教え子の引退試合のためにジグナル・イドゥナ・パルクに戻って来たクロップ監督は試合後に、「BVBは今日、特別なクラブであることを改めて証明した。おじさんたちの球蹴りを見に7万もの人が集まるなんて、何か特別な理由がなければ考えられない。その特別な理由は、今日の場合はロマン・ヴァイデンフェラーだった」と、ヴァイデンフェラーに賛辞を送っている。

カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)では、日本代表とも対戦するドイツ代表だが、その“愛称”について議論がなされている。
2014年のブラジルW杯では優勝を果たしているドイツ代表。チームの愛称として「Die Mannschaft(ディー・マンシャフト)」が採用されている。
これはW杯制覇後の2015年にドイツ代表のマネージャーを務めるオリバー・ビアホフ氏が呼称として導入したもの。意味は「これがチームだ」というものだが、廃止の方向で話が進んでいる。
ドイツサッカー連盟(DFB)のベルント・ノイエンドルフ会長は、この呼称について終わる可能性があることを20日にコメント。7月末に結論を出すという。
「終わりが来る。7月末に責任機関の会合が開かれ、決定が確実に下される。終わりのない話には興味がない」
「今回の定性調査では、我々のイメージを固め、意見をまとめることができるはずだ。ただ、調査に依存することはない」
この言葉の生みの親とも言われるビアホフ氏は「我慢すれば良い」と会長の決定を受け入れることを示唆。日本と対戦するときにはもう使われない愛称となっていそうだ。

ブラジルメディアがユーモアあふれる投稿で日本代表の勝利を祝している。
日本は23日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)グループE第1節でドイツ代表と対戦した。PKで前半に先制を許すも、後半のシステム変更が奏功し、堂安律、浅野拓磨のゴールで2-1と逆転勝ち。戦前の下馬評を覆す大きな勝利を収めた。
世界中のメディアが驚きを持って報じるなか、ブラジルのエンタメ情報メディア『BCharts』は『Troll Football』によるユニークな一枚を引用した。
「後半、日本はこのメンバーでドイツに勝った」と、日本代表11人をアニメキャラクターに置き換えたコラージュ画像を掲載。集合写真には『ドラゴンボール』の孫悟空や『ONE PIECE』のモンキー・D・ルフィのほか、『名探偵コナン』の工藤新一などが登場した。
各作品の主人公などがずらりと並ぶ一枚には、海外ファから「大好きです」、「今日もドラゴンボール見に行く」、「まさにその通りだった」、「彼らはスーパーイレブンを召喚した」、「ユーモアとジョーク」などのコメントが届いた。
