ナイキの最新フットボールキャンペーン「Footballverse」のプロモーション映像が注目を集めている。
ナイキは16日、「全ての世代のアスリートがスポーツの歴史に名を残し、そのスポーツの世界を広げただけではなく、未来の世代のアスリートたちが自分達の爪痕を刻むことを励ましている」との主張のもと、「Footballverse」を展開。過去から現代に至るナイキの偉大なプレイヤーたちが主役となり、彼らが一つのピッチで競う世界を、想像力と遊び心を交えて描いた。
ストーリーはスイスのジュネーブにある秘密研究所を舞台とする。科学者たちは、現代のフランス代表FWキリアン・ムバッペと2006年のロナウジーニョ、どちらが優れているかという議論を発端に、「マルチバース」と呼ばれる仮想選手を召喚して実際に対戦させようと試みた。
フィルムには2人のほかに、元ブラジル代表のロナウド氏、ポルトガル代表FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウドとその息子ジュニアくんや、アメリカ女子代表FWアレックス・モーガンなど10名を超えるナイキの契約アスリートが登場。は映画「ときめきサイエンス」のダニー・エルフマン作曲でオインゴ・ボインゴによる懐かしいサウンドトラックも採用されている。
新旧レジェンドの共演には「これまでに作成された最高のマルチバース!」、「涙がこぼれました」、「ナイキは常にコマーシャルで先を行っています」、「美しく壮大で記憶に残るコマーシャル!」といった大賛辞が寄せられた。
また、実在の登場人物のみならず、イナズマイレブンのキャラクター、豪炎寺修也も登場。「ゴウエンジが出てきてカッコいい」「GOUENJIが入っているだけで最高のサッカーCM」「みんなGouenjiを入れた」「豪炎寺修也、史上最高!」と、日本のゲームキャラクターには海外のファンからも熱い視線が注がれることとなった。

データおよびテクノロジーにおけるリーディングカンパニーの「ニールセン・グレースノート」が、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場する選手のインフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表した。
なでしこジャパンも出場する女子W杯。開幕までおよそ1カ月となった中で、各国の出場選手も決定している。
「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。
トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。
1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。
アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。
2位には、バルセロナのエースでありスペイン女子代表のエースでもあるMFアレクシア・プテジャス。フォロワーは280万人であり、1位のレーマンがどれほどのフォロワーを抱えているかがわかる。
2シーズン連続でUEFA年間最優秀女子選手、バロンドールを受賞。2021年にはFIFA最優秀女子選手賞を受賞している。

アメリカで将来が嘱望されていた女子サッカー選手が大学の寮で遺体で発見された。
亡くなったのはスタンフォード大学の女子サッカー部でキャプテンを務めているケイティ・マイヤーさん(22)。ポジションはGKで、今週スタンフォード大学の寮で遺体で見つかった。
大学は当初、1日に学生が亡くなったことを発表。友人や家族への連絡を行い、2日にマイヤーさんの死を確認したという。
大学側は死因を明らかにしていないが、警察はキャンパス内での危険はないとし、マイヤーさんの死が疑わしいものではないと考えているようだ。
アメリカ『マーキュリー・ニュース』によると、マイヤーさんはイタリア女子代表やオランダ女子代表、世界各地のクラブのキャンプにも参加していたとのことで、将来が有望視されていたGK。スタンフォード大学の史上3度目の全米制覇に貢献していた。

美麗なドレス姿はフランス代表FWも魅了したようだ。
17日、バロンドール2022の授賞式が行われ、男子はレアル・マドリーのフランス代表FWカリム・ベンゼマが、女子はバルセロナのスペイン女子代表MFアレクシア・プテジャスが選出された。
ノミネートされた各選手が美麗な衣装で参加する中、話題を集めた1人がワシントン・スピリットのアメリカ女子代表FWトリニティ・ロッドマンだ。
弱冠20歳の新鋭は元NBAのスターであるデニス・ロッドマン氏の娘で、昨季のナショナル・ウィメンズ・サッカーリーグ(NWSL)で新人賞を受賞。今年頭には代表デビューも果たした。
トリニティは授賞式に体のラインを見せるブルーのドレスで登場。クラブカラーを意識したタイトなドレス姿には「カバーガールみたいだ!」、「あのドレスは…すごい」などの声が上がっていた。
また、席ではパリ・サンジェルマンのフランス代表FWキリアン・ムバッペの隣に。ワシントン・スピリットが「こんにちはトリン。こんにちはムバッペ」と公開した写真には、ファンから「この2つをつなげられますか?」、「若いゴートとムバッペ」、「レジェンドが隣り合わせ!」、「デートじゃん笑」、「カップルだと言ってください!」などの声が寄せられることとなった。
トリニティは「自分がノミネートされたなんて信じられません!(ここにいる)すべての選手を尊敬しており、ここにいることができて本当に素晴らしいです」と語る。アメリカの新鋭として、今後の活躍や来年に控えるオーストラリア・ニュージーランドワールドカップ(W杯)でのプレーにも注目が集まる。

アメリカ女子代表は30日、ジル・エリス監督(52)が10月退任することを発表した。
ジル・エリス監督は2014年5月にアメリカ女子代表の監督に就任。それまでは同チームのアシスタントコーチやU-20とU-21のアメリカ女子代表を歴任してきた。
米女子代表監督の正式就任以前に2回ほど暫定監督を務めたエリス監督は、翌年のワールドカップでは決勝で日本を5-2で下し、就任から13カ月で世界一に。FIFA(国際サッカー連盟)が認めるその年の女子年間最優秀監督に選ばれた。さらに今夏にフランスで行われた同大会でも決勝でオランダを下し、2連覇を達成した。
エリス監督は在任期間5年半で、102勝18分け7敗という史上最多キャップと勝利数を誇る。「変化は私の人生で常に受け入れられてきたものであり、私や家族にとって適切なタイミング」と語り、大きな感謝の意を示した。
