生まれ故郷の名門リヨンの下部組織出身でプロキャリアもスタートしたラカゼットは、2017年7月にアーセナルへと完全移籍。その後、2022年7月に古巣帰還を果たし、以降は頼れるエースとキャプテンとしてパリ・サンジェルマンらライバルの後塵を拝するクラブを支えてきた。
クラブ通算390試合199ゴールの数字を刻み、今シーズンもここまで公式戦41試合17ゴールと健在ぶりを発揮していたが、クラブが深刻な財政問題を抱えるなかで高額なサラリーの影響もあって、今季限りの契約に関する延長交渉は行われずにいた。
サウジアラビアのネオムとの接触も報じられ、多くのリヨンファンは17日に本拠地グルパマ・スタジアムで行われるアンジェとのリーグ・アン最終節がエースのラストマッチとなることを察していた。
そんななか、15日に公式会見に出席したパウロ・フォンセカ監督はこの試合がラカゼットのリヨンでのラストマッチとなることを認めた。
「今日アレックス(ラカゼット)と話した。確かに、これが彼にとってここでの最後の試合になる。チームにとって更なるモチベーションになるはずだ」
「彼はこのクラブのために素晴らしいことをしてくれた。素晴らしいプロフェッショナルで、一緒に仕事をするのが大好きだった。彼のために素晴らしい試合をしなければならない。彼は素晴らしい形で旅立つのに値する」
また、会見に同席したFWラヤン・シェルキもチームメイトであり、兄と慕うレジェンドを最高の形で送り出したいと意気込む。

アーセナルのゴールマウスを守るイングランド代表GKアーロン・ラムズデールだが、新たに守るものができたようだ。
2021年夏にシェフィールド・ユナイテッドからアーセナルん加入したラムズデール。ドイツ代表GKベルント・レノ(フルアム)の前に控えの立ち位置だったが、チームが開幕3連敗を喫したこともあり起用されると、そこからチームはV字回復。そのまま正守護神に定着した。
ビルドアップ能力が長けているだけでなく、決定機を防ぐセービング能力も高く、攻守にわたって躍動。レノが今夏フルアムに移籍したことで、背番号も「1」に変更となった。
そのラムズデールだが、8月11日にガールフレンドにプロポーズを行っていた様子。見事に成功したことをインスタグラムで報告した。
ラムズデールのガールフレンドは、ジョージナ・アーウィンさん。ブリティッシュ・エアウェイズの客室乗務員(CA)で、ウィンブルドンに在籍した時から交際していたとのことで、オン・オフに限らず2ショットがたびたび投稿されていた。
ラムズデールはプロポーズの写真とともに「Forever and always(いつまでも永遠に)は良い響き」と投稿。アーセナルの他、元チームメイトのアレクサンドル・ラカゼット、そしてイングランド代表で同僚のカルヴァン・フィリップス(マンチェスター・シティ)、トレント・アレクサンダー=アーノルド(リバプール)、ジョーダン・ヘンダーソン(リバプール)などからも祝福のメッセージが届いた。

この面々に日本人がいることはやはり驚きを与えている。
4日、アーセナルが2022-23シーズンのチーム集合写真を発表した。
どのクラブでもシーズン毎に撮影するチームフォト。監督を中心に、選手たちが整列して座って撮るものだ。
アーセナルは、今シーズン用のチームフォトを公開。今夏の移籍市場の立ち振る舞いが大きく現れた写真となった。
総勢24名の選手とミケル・アルテタ監督の25名が写っているが、パッと見た印象は他のクラブや過去のアーセナルの写真よりもコンパクトにまとまっている印象だ。
今夏はGKマット・ターナー、DFオレクサンドル・ジンチェンコ、MFファビオ・ヴィエイラ、FWガブリエウ・ジェズス、FWマルキーニョスの5名の獲得の他、マルセイユからDFウィリアム・サリバ、フェイエノールトからMFリース・ネルソンがレンタルバック。昨シーズンから7名が加わった。
一方で、退団選手は多数。GKベルント・レノやFWアレクサンドル・ラカゼットの他、DFヌーノ・タヴァレス、FWニコラ・ペペはレンタル移籍。DFエクトル・ベジェリン、DFパブロ・マリ、MFルーカス・トレイ、MFエインズリー・メイトランド=ナイルズらがレンタル移籍している。
そんな中、注目は日本代表DF冨安健洋。今シーズンはベンチスタートがここまで多い中、それでもアルテタ監督からの信頼は厚く、クローザーとして終盤に投入されることが多い。
昨シーズンは2列目の向かって左から3番目、DFロブ・ホールディングとMFアルベール・サンビ・ロコンガの間に立っていた。
そんな中、今シーズンもなんと昨シーズンと同じ2列目の向かって左から3番目。ただ、隣はDFガブリエウ・マガリャンイスとFWガブリエウ・マルティネッリに変わっていた。
これにはファンも「この中に日本人居るのマジで凄い」、「トミキュート」、「やっぱかっこいい」、「日本人いるのやばすぎ」、「誇りだなと感じる」、「冨安髪セットして」と各国の代表選手の中に冨安がいることは、2年目でも凄いと感じるようだ。
その他「整理されたな」、「すごくコンパクト」、「残った精鋭たちって感じ」、「少数精鋭部隊」と人数の少なさにもコメントが集まった。

モナコの日本代表MF南野拓実がリーグ・アンのベストイレブンに選出された。
パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)の3連覇、12度目の優勝で2023-24シーズンを終えたリーグ・アン。南野が所属するモナコは2位でフィニッシュした。
フランスの大手メディアである『レキップ』のベストイレブンにも選出されていた南野。リーグ公式のベストイレブんにも選出された。
チームとしても躍進したモナコだが、南野も苦しみ続けた1年目とは大きく変わり、2年目の今シーズンは躍動。リーグ・アンでは30試合で9ゴール6アシストを記録し、チームの2位躍進に貢献していた。
『レキップ』では左ウイングでも選出されていた中、リーグのベストイレブンでは左インサイドハーフで選出された。
その他のメンバーでは、DFアクラフ・ハキミ(パリ・サンジェルマン)、MFピエール・レース=メル(ブレスト)は『レキップ』と同じ選出に。その他の8名は異なっている状況だ。

2025年のリーグ・アン(フランス1部)のサラリーランキングが、フランス『レキップ』によって発表された。
2024年はパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のFWキリアン・ムバッペが月給600万ユーロ(約9億7000万円)と破格の金額でランキングトップに君臨していたが、その最高給取りがレアル・マドリーに移籍したことで、今年のランキングはより拮抗したものに。
ただ、今シーズンのリーグテーブルで首位を独走するPSGが発表されたトップ30のうち、上位12位まで独占する金満ぶりを改めて証明。そのなかで1位に輝いたのは、新エースFWのウスマーヌ・デンベレの月給150万ユーロ(約2億4000万円)となった。
そして、2位にはキャプテンのDFマルキーニョス、3位は同額でDFリュカ・エルナンデスとDFアクラフ・ハキミが並んだ。
PSG勢以外ではマルセイユのMFアドリアン・ラビオとMFピエール=エミール・ホイビュア、リヨンのFWアレクサンドル・ラカゼットが月給50万ユーロ(約8億1000万円)で並んでいる。
