エスパニョールがCDグアダラハラのメキシコ代表FWアレクシス・ベガ(24)の獲得を目指すようだ。
メキシコを代表する強豪クラブのひとつであるグアダラハラで背番号10を背負うベガは、173cmと小柄ながらメキシコ人らしい巧みなボールコントロールや、重心の低いドリブルが特徴の左ウィンガーで、メキシコ代表では通算16試合3得点を記録。昨夏の東京オリンピックにも出場しており、3位決定戦のU-24日本代表戦でCKからヘディング弾を決めるなど、大会通算3得点を挙げ、銅メダル獲得に大きく貢献していた。
今秋のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)でもお目にかかれる可能性があるベガだが、アメリカ『ESPN』によると、エスパニョールが獲得に本腰を入れる見込みとなっており、W杯を目前にしてキャリア初のヨーロッパ移籍となる可能性は低くないようだ。
これまでにもPSVやポルトといった、欧州外の出身選手にとって登竜門となるクラブから関心を寄せられてきたベガだが、スペイン『ムンド・デポルディポ』の北米版によると、欧州へのステップアップは時間の問題とのことで、グアダラハラ側は移籍金1000万ドル(約13億5000万円)以上のオファーであればベガの売却を前向きに検討するとみられている。

リーガMX、グアダラハラのメキシコ人MFアラン・トーレスのループシュートが絶妙だ。
9日に行われたリーガMXの後期開幕節でマサトランをホームに迎えたグアダラハラは、45分にPKで先制点を挙げた。いい時間帯でリードを奪うと、直後にはA・トーレスにもファインゴールが飛び出した。
ボックス内へ侵入したアレクシス・ベガからボールが流れてくると、GKの位置を見ていたA・トーレスはペナルティアーク内から右足のアウトサイドでループシュート。これが鮮やかな弧を描いてゴールへと吸い込まれた。
実況もゴラッソだと繰り返した鮮やかなループ。ファンからも「これは素晴らしいゴール」、「彼にカップを与えよう」、「どうやったら防げるのかわからない」などの賛辞が送られた。
勢いづいたホームチームは前半アディショナルタイムにさらに加点。そのまま3-0と、快勝を収めている。

U-24メキシコ代表FWのアレクシス・ベガが東京オリンピックに参加した歴史を自身の体に刻み込んだ。
ベガはメキシコの左サイドで攻撃を牽引。U-24日本代表との3位決定戦では、先制となるPKを獲得するドリブル突破に加え、後半にはCKからヘディングで追加点。銅メダル獲得の立役者となった。
母国に戻ったベガだが、まず最初にしたのはグアダラハラに拠点を構えるタトゥーアーティスト、ハイメ・アバルサ氏のもとを訪れることだった。
ベガは右足のヒザから足首にかけて、「TOKYO 2020」の文字、5色の輪で構成されるオリンピックシンボル、聖火のタトゥーを入れた。ベガが所属するチーバスの公式イングラムも、タトゥーの写真とともに「夢は叶い、永遠に残る」と紹介している。
メキシコのリーガMXはすでに開幕。ベガは進化した右足で新シーズンに挑む。
