23日、AFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)2023-24の西地区準決勝2ndレグが行われた。
決勝進出を目指して行われた一戦。準決勝に勝ち上がっているのは、UAEのアル・アインとサウジアラビアのアル・ヒラル。1stレグは4-2でアル・アインが勝利していた。
アル・ヒラルのホームで行われた2ndレグ。ブラジル代表FWネイマールは継続して欠場も、セルビア代表MFセルゲイ・ミリンコビッチ=サビッチやポルトガル代表MFルベン・ネヴェス、ブラジル代表FWマウコム、モロッコ代表GKボノらが先発出場した。
1stレグのリードを守りたいエルナン・クレスポ監督率いるアル・アインと、逆転勝利を収めたいアル・ヒラル。試合はホームのアル・ヒラルのペースに。開始1分も経たない中でミシャエウが倒されてアル・ヒラルがPKを獲得。オンフィールド・レビューの結果でも判定は覆らないと、ルベン・ネヴェスがしっかりと決めて、早々に1点を返す。
2戦合計でも1点差としたアル・ヒラルだったが、アル・アインはすぐに同点に。12ふん、左サイドを崩すと、ルーズボールを拾ったヤヒア・ナデルの折り返しをエリックがダイレクトで蹴り込み、すぐに同点とする。
逆転には2点差の勝利が必須のアル・ヒラルは同点とされた後も猛攻。それでもゴールが生まれなかったが、51分に再びスコアを動かすことに成功。ヤセル・アル・シャフラニのロングスローがクリアされるが、このボールをボックス内で拾ったサレム・アル・ドサリが蹴り込み、再びアル・ヒラルがリードを奪う。
あと1点が必要なアル・ヒラルは猛攻。59分には巧みな崩しからミシャエウがGKとの一対一の決定機を迎えるが、GKがセーブ。その後もゴールに迫るが、アル・アインは追加点を許さず。GKハリド・エイサの好セーブが続き、2-1で試合終了。2戦合計、5-4でアル・アインが勝利を収め、2016年以来となる決勝進出を果たした。
なお、東地区の準決勝2ndレグは24日に開催。横浜F・マリノスと蔚山HD FCの勝者が決勝でアル・アインと対戦する。なお、1stレグは蔚山がホームで1-0と勝利していた。

ブラジル代表FWネイマールに悲劇が続いている。
今夏パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)からサウジ・プロ・リーグのアル・ヒラルへと完全移籍したネイマール。カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)後の今年2月に足首のじん帯を損傷。手術を受けてプレーできずにいた。
その後復帰したネイマールだったが、10月17日に行われた北中米ワールドカップ南米予選第4節のウルグアイ代表戦で負傷交代。チャージを受けて踏ん張ろうとした際につまづいて転倒。左ヒザを押さえて倒れ込み、両チームの選手が心配してすぐに駆け寄る形となった。
ネイマールは左ヒザの前十字じん帯断裂および半月板損傷の重傷を負い、ブラジルで手術。復帰まではかなりの時間を要することとなったが、無事に成功したという。
サウジアラビア『Al Riyadiah』によれば、ネイマールはアル・ヒラルの外国人選手リストから外されたとのこと。長期間プレーできないことから、他の選手のために枠を空けることになったという。
『アル・リヤディア』は「クラブに近い関係者」の話として伝えている。
ジョルジェ・ジェズス監督は、1月に左サイドバックに外国人選手を補強したいものの、8人の外国人枠を空ける必要があり、最低6カ月はプレーできないとみられるネイマールに枠を使う必要はない。
アル・ヒラルには、ネイマール以外にモロッコ代表GKボノ、セネガル代表DFカリドゥ・クリバリ、ポルトガル代表MFルベン・ネヴェス、セルビア代表MFセルゲイ・ミリンコビッチ=サビッチ、ブラジル代表FWマウコム、セルビア代表FWアレクサンダル・ミトロビッチ、ブラジル人FWミシャエウが外国人選手として所属している。
ケガが大きな悲劇ではあるが、7日にはかつて交際していたモデルのルアナ・アンドラーデさんが29歳で他界する訃報。脂肪吸引の施術を受けていた際に脳卒中を起こして亡くなったという。
さらに、同日には生後1カ月の娘とパートナーのブルーナ・ビアンカルディさんが強盗被害に。誘拐の可能性もあったとされるが、こちらは高級ハンドバックや時計、宝石などを盗まれるにとどまっていた。
自身について悪いことが連続して起きているネイマール。日本式に言えば、お祓いに行く必要があるかもしれない。

浦和レッズは6日、AFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)2022決勝第2戦でサウジアラビアのアル・ヒラルを埼玉スタジアム2002へ迎え、1-0で勝利。2戦合計スコア2-1で浦和が2017年以来となる3度目の優勝をつかみ取った。
4月29日の第1戦では先制されながらも、興梠慎三がアウェイゴールを奪って1-1で終えた浦和。2007年、2017年以来、5大会ぶり3度目の優勝を目指して迎える第2戦では、第1戦と同じ11人が先発メンバーに起用された。
対するアル・ヒラルは第1戦で退場者を出したこともあり、Jリーグの初代得点王でもあるラモン・ディアス監督はスタメンを3人変更。システムも[4-4-2]から[4-3-3]へ変更し、序盤からボールを握る。
「We are REDS」の大声援が木霊する真っ赤に染まった埼スタで、最初のチャンスを迎えたのはアウェイのアル・ヒラル。5分、右サイドからクロスが入ると、オディオン・イガロのコントロールは流れるも、GKとDFの間にこぼれる。アブドゥラー・アル=ハムダンも絡んで混戦となり、ルーズボールをイガロが拾い直してボックス内右から狙った。
浦和はこれをゴールカバーに入ったアレクサンダー・ショルツが防いだが、GK西川周作がアル=ハムダンと接触で痛み、プレーは一時中断。状態が心配されたが、GK西川は無事プレーに復帰した。
以降も第1戦と同様、アル・ヒラルのポゼッションに対して浦和は我慢の時間が続き、21分にはミシャエウの強烈な右足をGK西川がストップ。この時間帯は左右から多数のクロスを浴び、ボックス内へ釘付けにされてCKも複数与えたが、集中した守備でしのぎ切る。
浦和の決定機は30分に到来。相手のビルドアップに制限を掛けてミスを誘い、右サイド高い位置でのスローインを獲得すると、これを起点に酒井宏樹が巧みなドリブルでボックス内右へ侵入して折り返す。難しい高さながらもフリーで興梠が合わせたが、右足のフィニッシュはクロスバーを叩いた。
35分には対角のパスをゴール前でミシャエウに収められてヒヤリとするが、GK西川が距離を詰めて事なきを得る。二次攻撃からのモハメド・カンノの右足も枠を外れ、42分にバイタルエリア中央左寄りから浴びたアンドレ・カリージョの強烈な右足のミドルもGK西川が右手一本ではじき出し、ゴールレスで前半を終えた。
両チームともに交代なく迎えた後半は早々に試合が動く。
浦和は49分、小泉佳穂が倒されてセンターサークルをやや越えた付近でのFKを獲得すると、岩尾憲はボックス内左へ柔らかい浮き球を送り、マリウス・ホイブラーテンが頭で折り返す。飛び込んだ興梠は触れられずも、これが影響を与えたか、ボールはGKの指先を抜け、クリアを試みたカリージョのオウンゴールを誘発した。
ポゼッションは依然としてアル・ヒラルだが、浦和も徐々に中盤でボールを握る時間が増加。73分にはイガロのシュートをホイブラーテンがきっちりブロックして窮地をしのぐと、直後には途中出場のホセ・カンテから大久保智明がボックス左で絶好機を迎えたが、左足でファーを狙ったシュートは枠を捉えられない。
追い掛けるアル・ヒラルは選手交代も駆使してクロス攻勢。再びボックス内での守備を強いられた浦和は、ミシャエウのインスイングのクロスが抜けてあわや直接ゴールインかというシーンも。それでも、耐えに耐えて87分にはカウンターから安居海渡の左足と、隙あらば追加点という姿勢も見せる。
90分にはやはりクロスからイガロに決定機を許したが、ここもGK西川が阻止。声量の増したサポーターの後押しも受け、追加タイムはゲームコントロールしてこのままタイムアップ。浦和が5大会ぶり3度目のアジア制覇を成し遂げた。
