ストラスブールの日本代表GK川島永嗣が、再び定位置を掴むかもしれない。
ストラスブールはここまでリーグ戦全試合でゴールを守ってきた守護神マッツ・セルスが新型コロナウイルスの検査で陽性反応を示し、隔離中となっている。そのため、9日に行われたリーグ・アン第20節、メスとのアウェイゲームでは、川島に出場機会が巡ってきた。
公式戦では12月16日のクープ・ドゥ・フランス以来、今シーズン2試合目の出場となった川島。リーグ戦は今季初出場ながらも、クリーンシートを達成し、2-0の勝利に貢献した。
古巣相手に完封勝利を収めた川島は試合後に自身のインスタグラムを更新。「素晴らしいグループの勝利。古巣メスとのダービー。2-0で勝利」と簡潔ながらも、充実感にあふれるコメントを残している。
ファンからも「すごいっ」、「笑顔最高です」、「脱帽です」、「ナイスプレーでした!」など、祝福や称賛の声が届けられた。
昨季も当初は第3GKという位置づけでスタートしながら、セルスの負傷やビングル・カマラ(シャルルロワ)のコロナウイルス陽性反応などでチャンスと得ると、定位置を確保して24試合に出場。契約の2年延長も勝ち取っている。
今回も突如出番が巡ってきた中で結果を残した川島。このまま出場機会を増やすことになるだろうか。

シャルルロワは23日、ストラスブールからセネガル代表GKビングル・カマラ(25)を今シーズン終了までのレンタル移籍で獲得したことを発表した。
フランスで生まれ育ったカマラはリーグ・ドゥのトゥールでプロデビューを飾り、2017年にストラスブールへ完全移籍。加入初年度はリーグ戦19試合に出場も、以降はベルギー代表GKマッツ・セルスと日本代表GK川島永嗣とのポジション争いで劣勢を強いられ、3番手に甘んじていた。
それでも、セネガル代表として2キャップを刻むなど、高いポテンシャルの持ち主はジュピラー・プロ・リーグで5位に位置するシャルルロワへ加入することになった。
なお、シャルルロワには元日本代表MF森岡亮太が在籍しており、再び日本人選手とチームメイトとなる。
