昨シーズンまで浦和レッズを指揮したリカルド・ロドリゲス氏(48)がスコットランドで監督に就任する可能性があるようだ。イギリス『デイリー・レコード』が伝えた。
徳島ヴォルティスを率いては、チームをJ1に昇格させる手腕を見せていたリカルド監督。2021シーズンに浦和の監督に就任し、チームの改革を託された。
2021シーズンは天皇杯を優勝、2022シーズンはAFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)でチームを決勝に導く手腕を見せ、戦い方も変化をもたらせた一方で、リーグ戦では安定した結果を残せずに目標としていたタイトル争いができず、2年での退任が決まっていた。
退任後はヨーロッパでサッカーを学び直しているとし、マンチェスター・ダービーやリバプールvsチェルシーなどを観戦。先日は母国に戻り、バルセロナのトレーニング施設、シウター・エスポルティバ・ジョアン・ガンペールを訪れたことを報告していた。
そのリカルド・ロドリゲス氏だが、スコティッシュ・プレミアシップのアバディーンの監督候補に浮上しているという。
アバディーンは現在リーグ戦で7位に位置。指揮を執っていたジム・グッドウィン監督が解任され、バリー・ロブソン氏が暫定的に指揮を執っている。
新監督の候補には、シェフィールド・ユナイテッドで長らく指揮をしたクリス・ワイルダー氏が候補だったが、就任する可能性はないとのこと。また、かつてセルティックを指揮した名将でもあるゴードン・ストラカン氏の噂も消滅したという。
イギリス『Press and Journal』によれば、その中で候補に浮上したのがリカルド・ロドリゲス氏。セルティックで結果を残している、アンジェ・ポステコグルー監督が横浜F・マリノスで結果を残したことが注目されたが、それに続いて注目を集めているという。
日本以外では、スペインのジローナやタイのラチャブリー、バンコク・グラス、スパンブリーで指揮。U-17サウジアラビア代表も指揮したことがあるが、スコットランドに元Jクラブの監督が再び就任するだろうか。

かつてセルティックやスコットランド代表を率いたゴードン・ストラカン氏は、今夏アーセナルに加入したスコットランド代表DFキーラン・ティアニーがリバプールのオランダ代表DFヴィルヒル・ファン・ダイクのような名ディフェンダーになると考えているようだ。
ティアニーは今夏のプレミアリーグ移籍市場最終日に推定2500万ポンド(約33億2000万円)と言われる移籍金でセルティックからアーセナルに加入。
ケガの影響で新天地デビューは遅れていたが、今月24日に行われたEFLカップのノッティンガム・フォレスト戦で待望の新天地デビュー。同試合では77分に途中交代するまで攻守両面で安定したプレーを披露し、早くもガナーズサポーターのハートを掴んだようだ。
現役時代にマンチェスター・ユナイテッドやリーズ・ユナイテッドで活躍し、引退後はセルティック、スコットランド代表を率いた経験を持つストラカン氏は、スコットランド代表時代に指導したティアニーが同じくセルティックOBのファン・ダイクのような名ディフェンダーになれると考えているようだ。イギリス『ミラー』が元スコットランド代表MFのコメントを伝えている。
「キーランは本当に素晴らしい若手プレーヤーだ。彼には素晴らしい危機察知能力が備わっている」
「彼のプレーはファン・ダイクを思い起こさせる。ヴィルヒルとキーランのプレーを初めて見たとき、“彼らはツキに恵まれているのか、それとも試合を読む力がずば抜けているのか”と考えさせられたよ」
「キーランはボックス内でのインターセプトやクリアの数が非常に多く何らかの分析をしたいと考えている」
「彼はフォワードのような考え方を持っていて、相手が何をしようとしているのかを理解しているんだ」

ティアニーの主戦場はあくまで左サイドバックだが、178cmとまずまずのサイズと高い身体能力を有しており、センターバックでファン・ダイクのような仕事はできないが、チェルシーDFセサル・アスピリクエタのように3バックのストッパーでの起用はありかもしれない。
