DFBがスーパーカップの名称変更を発表!2025シーズンから“フランツ・ベッケンバウアー・スーパーカップ”に

表彰見送りの「バロンドール」がドリームチームを発表!現役からはメッシ&C・ロナウドが選出

バイエルンが背番号「5」を永久欠番に 故ベッケンバウアーの功績を称え

バイエルンは8日、背番号「5」を永久欠番とすると発表した。 これは今年1月に78歳で逝去したクラブきってのレジェンドOB、フランツ・ベッケンバウアー氏に敬意を示すもので、バイエルンの会長を務めるヘルベルト・ハイナー氏が年次総会にて明らかにした。 ベッケンバウアー氏の婦人であるハイジさん、息子のジョエルさんを招き、この発表をしたハイナー氏は総会後、ドイツ『ビルト』で経緯を説明する。 「今も我々の誰もがフランツの死にショックを受けている。スピーチでは何度も彼がいなくなるのかどれだけ寂しいか、そして何よりも彼がこのクラブをどれほど形作ってきたかを述べてきた」 「彼は選手であっただけでなく、監督であり、会長でもあったんだ。まさに偉大な人物だった。ベッケンバウアーという存在なしに今日のバイエルンも存在しなかったことだろう」 「そこでこの総会でベッケンバウアーを偲び、敬意を示すべく、このイベントを開催すると決めた」 なお、今季のバイエルンでは背番号「5」を背負う選手は不在。直近では現インテルのフランス代表DFバンジャマン・パヴァールがつけていた。 2024.12.09 12:46 Mon

皇帝の逝去から一年。スーパーカップの冠名に決定/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録

早いもので、西ドイツが生んだ偉大なフットボーラーであるフランツ・ベッケンバウアー氏が亡くなってから一年が経とうとしている(24年1月8日に逝去。78歳)。現役時代は「皇帝」のニックネームで尊敬を集め、守備だけでなく攻撃にも自由に参加する「リベロ」という概念を確立した。 W杯は66年イングランド大会で準優勝、70年メキシコ大会は3位、そして自国開催となった74年西ドイツ大会では母国に2度目となるトロフィーをもたらした。監督(肩書きはチームシェフ)として86年メキシコ大会こそディエゴ・マラドーナ率いるアルゼンチンに敗れて準優勝に甘んじたが、90年イタリア大会ではアルゼンチンに雪辱を果たし、選手と監督でW杯を制した2人目という偉業を達成した。 同じく選手と監督でW杯に優勝したブラジルの名将マリオ・ザガロ氏も24年1月5日にこの世を去り(享年92歳)、選手・監督でW杯に優勝したのはディディエ・デシャン1人になった。 さらに昨年10月6日には、西ドイツW杯決勝でベッケンバウアー氏と好勝負を演じたオランダのヨハン・ニースケン氏も逝去した(73歳)。西ドイツとの決勝戦での先制点、ゴール中央に強シュートを突き刺した衝撃は今でも忘れられない。彼のシュートは、それまで左右のスミを狙うのが常識だったPKに、新たな発想をもたらしたのではなだろうか(パネンカのチップキックによるPKも伝説だ)。 すでに2016年3月24日には、もう一人の“ヨハン”であるクライフ氏も亡くなっている。「トータルフットボール」の具現者として世界に衝撃を与えただけでなく、指導者としてバルセロナでは超攻撃的なスタイルを確立。現在のバルサの礎を築いたと言っても過言ではないだろう。彼の出現で背番号「14」は特別な番号になったはずだ。 そんなレジェンドの1人である「皇帝」の功績を称え、昨年12月20日、ドイツサッカーリーグ機構(DFL)は25～26シーズンからDFLスーパーカップの名称にフランツ・ベッケンバウアー氏の名前を冠することを発表した。 すでにバイエルン・ミュンヘンはベッケンバウアー氏の現役時代の背番号「5」を永久欠番にすると発表していた。それに続き、シーズン開幕前にブンデスリーガ優勝クラブとDFBポカール優勝クラブが激突する大会の名称が「フランツ・ベッケンバウアー・スーパーカップ」に変更されることになった。 かつてW杯のトロフィーは、ブラジルが70年メキシコ大会で3度目の優勝を果たし、永久保持するまでは、W杯の提唱者であるフランス人の「ジュール・リメ杯」と呼ばれていた(74年以降は特別な名称はない)。同じくEUROのトロフィーも提唱者であるフランス人の名前をとって「アンリ・ドロネー杯」と呼ばれていた。 しかし公式戦の名前に選手個人の名前が冠されるのは今回が初めてではないだろうか。近年の大会名にはネーミングライツ権を売ることで、企業の名前が冠されることが一般的になりつつある。そんななかで、今回のDFLの英断に拍手を送ると同時に、今年8月16日の大会では古巣バイエルンの復活にも期待したい。 文・六川亨 2025.01.04 11:00 Sat
