アメリカで史上最高額の女子選手が誕生した。
その選手はザンビア女子代表FWレーチェル・クンダナンジ(23)。13日、アメリカのナショナル・ウィメンズ・サッカーリーグ(NWSL)に今シーズンから参入するベイFCが、スペインのマドリードCFFから獲得したことを発表した。
ザンビア女子代表のエースとして活躍するクンダナンジは、マドリードCFFでリーガFの43試合に出場し33ゴールを記録する驚異的な得点力の持ち主。今シーズンは14試合で8ゴール4アシストを記録していた。
また、ザンビア女子代表として、2023年のオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)にも出場。東京オリンピックにも出場しており、ザンビア女子代表として18試合10ゴールを記録している。
世界的にも注目されるストライカーだが、移籍金は86万ドル(約1億3000万円)とのこと。イギリス『BBC』によれば、女子選手としては世界最高記録の移籍金とのことだ。
