ボリビア代表のレジェンドが代表引退を決断
ボリビア代表のレジェンドであるFWマルセロ・モレノ(36)が代表引退を決断した。
ボリビア代表のキャプテンを務め、これまで106試合31ゴールを記録。出場試合数、ゴール数ともにボリビア代表の最多記録であり、紛れもない同国のレジェンドだ。
クラブレベルでもヴィトーリア、クルゼイロとブラジルでプレーした他、シャフタール・ドネツク、ブレーメン、ウィガンとヨーロッパでもプレー。その後はブラジルに戻り、グレミオ、フラメンゴ、クルゼイロでプレーし、中国スーパーリーグの長春亜泰、武漢卓爾、石家荘永昌でもプレー。パラグアイのセロ・ポルテーニョでプレーし、現在はエクアドルのインデペンディエンテ・デル・バジェでプレーしている。
2007年にボリビア代表デビューを果たしたモレノは、2010年から2022年まで4大会のW杯予選を経験。今回が5度目の挑戦だが、ここまで4連敗で最下位という状況だ。
ボリビア代表としてワールドカップ(W杯)には出ることがなかったモレノは、今月行われる2026年の北中米W杯南米予選のペルー代表戦、ウルグアイ代表戦が最後の代表活動になる事を記者会見で発表した。
「この決断は、若手をサポートするためのものである。僕たちは他のチームと同じ条件ではない。なぜボリビアのサッカーがこのような状況を続けているのかを解明するため、監督たちにプレッシャーをかけなければいけない」
「僕たちは新たらしい選手たちが、W杯に到達するまでのプロセスをサポートし、彼らに相応しい自信を与えなければいけない」
モレノはボリビア代表としてW杯南米予選で通算22ゴールを記録。これはアルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシ(31ゴール)、ウルグアイ代表FWルイス・スアレス(29ゴール)に次ぐ歴代3位の成績も残している。

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

メッシ 大好きなマテ茶のストローは7万円超えの特別仕様

メッシがパリで交通事故死!? 明らかなフェイクニュースにショックを受ける人も…メディアに見せかけたSNSの投稿が多発

プレーはギリギリ? 去就注目のスアレスがボロボロのヒザの状態明かす「試合の前日に薬を3錠飲み、数時間前に注射を打つ」
