日本オリンピック委員会(JOC)『TEAM JAPAN』が、日本女子代表を牽引したMF塩越柚歩(三菱重工浦和レッズレディース)のメッセージを伝えた。第19回アジア競技大会(The 19th Asian Games)サッカー女子は6日に決勝が行われ、日本女子代表が北朝鮮女子代表に4-1で勝利。日本が2大会連続3度目の頂点に立った。
なでしこジャパンとは別編成で大会に臨んだ日本は、大勝続きでグループDを首位通過。準々決勝でもフィリピン女子代表を8-1で下し、続く準決勝の中国女子代表も、アウェイの空気感の中で4-3と逃げ切り勝ち。決勝も劣勢が続く中で、粘りの守備から少ないチャンスを確実にものにし、男女通じて初の大会連覇を達成した。
中2日、中1日の連戦の中でも塩越は全6試合にスタメン出場し、3試合連続ゴールを含む4得点をマーク。10番を背負い、チームを牽引した。
一方で、オフに左足関節内遊離体を手術した影響もあってか、6試合ともプレーは前半のみに。それでも、準々決勝まではうんともすんとも言わない日本サッカー協会(JFA)のSNSに代わって、自ら積極的に情報も発信。ピッチ内外で共闘を呼び掛けた。

「公式がこれは泣けるよ」W杯を終えた日本代表、JFA公開の映像がイナズマイレブンの楽曲含め大反響「4年後も期待」
