この試合の勝利で暫定首位浮上となるアル・ナスルは、試合序盤にロナウドの左足のミドルシュートでゴールへ迫るなど押し込む入りを見せる。

そして、17分にはハーフウェイライン手前での味方のボール奪取からの短い落としに反応したロナウドが、デ・ブライネを彷彿とさせる相手最終ライン2枚の間を抜く圧巻のロングスルーパスを供給。これに反応したアブドゥルラフマン・ガリーブが左サイドから中央に切り込んで右足のシュートを流し込んだ。

1点リードで試合を折り返したホームチームだが、後半立ち上がりには右サイドからのクロスをファーに走り込んだ元レアル・マドリーMFメドランに巧みなダイレクトボレーで合わせられ、同点に追いつかれる。

以降は一進一退の攻防が続く中、ロナウドに2度目の決定機が訪れるが、ゴール前でルーズボールに反応したものの仕留め切れない。それでも、78分にはセットプレーの流れからルイス・グスタボのグラウンダーシュートにゴール前で反応したロナウドが右足インサイドで短くマイナスに落とす。これをアブドゥラー・マドゥがすかさず蹴り込んでゴールネットを揺らした。当初、オフサイド判定もVARのレビューの結果、オンサイドと判定が覆った。

そして、ロナウドの見事な2アシストで接戦を制したアル・ナスルは、1試合未消化のアル・イテハドとアル・シャバブと同じ勝ち点40に到達し、得失点差で暫定首位に浮上している。
