いよいよ開幕まで10日ほどに迫ったカタールW杯。日本代表をはじめ、各国のメンバーが続々と発表されており、イングランド代表も10日にガレス・サウスゲイト監督から伝えられる見込みだ。
正規のメンバー発表に先駆けて、イングランドのご意見番であるキャラガー氏が、独自のスカッドをツイッターで発表。注目は現在負傷離脱中のカイル・ウォーカーとカルヴァン・フィリップス選出か。前者は鼠蹊部の手術で10月初旬から離脱中、後者は肩のケガで9月中旬以降、ピッチに立てていない。

フレッチャーの16歳息子2人、世代別代表でスコットランドとイングランドを行ったり来たり…協会どうしが火花

「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 イングランド代表のユニフォームが変? ファンが気づいた異変はベテランキットマンのまさかのミス…「間違ってしまった」
