シント=トロイデンの元日本代MF香川真司は、ベルギー内でも高い人気を誇っているようだ。今冬にギリシャのPAOKテッサロニキからシント=トロイデンへと加入した香川は、13日に行われたアウェイでのジュピラー・プロ・リーグ第27節、ロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズ戦で新天地デビューを果たした。
試合後にはオークションが開催され、この試合で香川が着用したユニフォームが出品された。19日に締め切られ、24日にクラブが落札金額を発表。香川がベルギーの初陣で着用したユニフォームには3150ユーロ(約41万円)の値が付けられた。
欧州ではドルトムント(ドイツ)、マンチェスター・ユナイテッド(イングランド)などのビッグクラブでもプレーし結果を残してきた香川。そのため、ベルギー内でも多くのファンから写真やサインを求められるなど、期待値は相当に高く、今回のオークションでもその人気が証明された恰好だ。
併せてシント=トロイデンは落札金額をすべてユースの運営に充てると発表。香川本人も関係者とともに自身のパネルや証明書を手にし、記念撮影を行っている。

「ブラボー!」が生まれたキッカケ!? 長友佑都が槙野智章の引退に想い「マキがインタビュアーじゃなければ…」

パルマが日本代表GK鈴木彩艶の獲得を発表!2029年までの5年契約を締結
