インテルのリバプール撃破をOBマテラッツィ氏が期待「簡単なことではないが…」

インテルのレジェンドである元イタリア代表DFのマルコ・マテラッツィ氏が、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)での古巣とリバプールの対戦を心待ちにした。『フットボール・イタリア』が伝えている。

CLグループステージ2位で決勝トーナメント進出を決めたインテルは、16日にホームで行われるCLラウンド16・1stレグでリバプールと対戦する。近年CLでも安定した成績を残し、今季もグループステージ全勝を飾ったリバプールに対して、インテルは10年ぶりの決勝トーナメント進出となっており、下馬評ではリバプール有利の見方が多数となっている。

しかし、マテラッツィ氏は自身の経験になぞらえて、インテルが勝利する可能性は十分にあるとコメント。もし勝利できれば、残りのシーズンに向けて大きな後押しになるだろうと期待した。

「CLでインテルがシャツを着てプレーする試合では、サン・シーロは一変する。これは最高の雰囲気になるだろうね。こうした雰囲気が本当に必要になる。リバプールはカウンターが生命線であり、1stレグで弱さを見せないことが基本になるだろう」

「リバプールはインテルにとって最も手強い相手かもしれない。でも私はインテルの選手として、2010年のラウンド16でチェルシーと対戦した時のことを忘れていない」

「プレシーズンにパサディナで行われた親善試合でも、我々はチェルシーと対戦した。そこでは引き分けだったが、試合後には『いったいどうすれば彼らに勝てるのだ』と考えたことを覚えているよ。彼らは本当に、別次元にいるようだった」

「だが、その後に我々はチェルシーと戦ったラウンド16を突破した。それは簡単なことではないが、もし自分たちの日とできるようなら、残りのシーズンに向けた後押しともなり得るだろう」
