マンチェスター・ユナイテッドが、モナコに所属するフランス代表FWウィサム・ベン・イェデル(29)に注目しているようだ。『ESPN』が伝えた。

昨夏にセビージャからモナコに移籍したイェデル。3年ぶりのリーグ・アンで、得点王となったパリ・サンジェルマンのFWキリアン・ムバッペに並ぶ18ゴールを挙げる活躍を披露した。

しかし、モナコは新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の影響による財政難で、イェデルら主力の売却を余儀なくされる状況に直面。そこにストライカーを探すユナイテッドが触手を伸ばしているようだ。

財政危機を回避するため、モナコはイェデル獲得に費やした3000万ユーロ(約35億4000万円)の回収を目論んでいる模様。ユナイテッドはリヨンの元U-21フランス代表FWムサ・デンベレ(23)や、リールのナイジェリア代表FWビクター・オシムヘン(21)もリストに挙がっているようだが、より安価で獲得できるイェデルに照準を絞る可能性が高いとのこと。

一方、イェデル本人に関しては、ユーロ2020のフランス代表入りを目指して移籍に踏み切ったが、モナコでの活躍を経て再び海外挑戦を望んでいると『ESPN』は推測している。

フレッチャー氏の双子の息子がユナイテッドとプロ契約シティのアカデミーから昨夏加入
