誰かがやると思った! ビラ若手が自宅での壁当てで悲劇…

新型コロナウイルス(COVID-19)の影響によって多くのフットボーラーが自宅での個人トレーニングを強いられている中、ついに想定された事故が起きてしまった。

今回、その事故を起こしてしまったのは、アストン・ビラからダービー・カウンティにレンタル移籍中のイングランド人FWルシアン・ヘップバーン=マーフィー。

U-15～U-20までイングランドの世代別代表に招集されてきた逸材は8日、自宅でのトレーニングの様子を映した動画を自身の公式『インスタグラム』に投稿した。

その動画には上半身裸のマーフィーが自宅の庭でレンガ造りの母屋の壁を目掛けてサッカーボールを当てる壁当ての様子が映っていた。

そして、初めに蹴ったボールはうまく1階の窓と2階の窓の間の壁に当たったが、2度目に蹴ったボールは2階のガラス窓に直撃。ガラスを二重にした作りだったのか、ボールが家の中に飛び込むことはなかったが、手前のガラスが粉々に砕けて落下することに…。

この痛恨のミスに同選手は頭を抱えたまましばらくフリーズ。また、動画のキャプションには「すぐに修理することはできない」との悲しいコメントが綴られていた。

自宅でのトレーニングが続く中、いつか誰かがこういった事故を起こしてしまうと思っていたが、恥を承知でSNS上に自身のミスを晒したマーフィーの漢気を称えたいところだ。

ただ、プロ・アマ問わず、同選手を反面教師に自宅でのトレーニングは安全第一で行ってほしい。
