井手口獲得のリーズ新指揮官が決定…バーンズリーを率いていたヘッキンボトム氏

▽日本代表MF井手口陽介が今冬に加入したチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)のリーズ・ユナイテッドは6日、新監督にポール・ヘッキンボトム氏(40)を招へいすることを発表した。契約は2019年夏までとのことだ。

▽リーズは、トーマス・クリスチャンセン監督を成績不振により4日に解任。直近のリーグ6試合(2分け4敗)で勝利がなく、昇格プレーオフ圏内の6位ブリストル・シティまで7ポイント差の10位に沈んでいる。

▽チームの立て直しを任されたのは、同じチャンピオンシップのバーンズリーで指揮を執っていたヘッキンボトム氏。現役時代はノリッジやブラッドフォード・シティ、シェフィールド・ウェンズデイ、バーンズリーでプレーしていた。

▽ヘッキンボトム氏に率いられたバーンズリーは現在、今シーズンのチャンピオンシップで残留ラインぎりぎりの21位に位置している。

トッテナム移籍後キャリア停滞のスペンス、コンテ元監督への不満吐露「ほとんど関係性がなかった」

リーズの正GKメリエが退団を希望、ユナイテッドら強豪3クラブが関心か

リーズ・ユナイテッドのU-21フランス代表GKイラン・メリエ(23)がステップアップを望んでいるようだ。イギリス『フットボール・インサイダー』が伝えている。メリエは2020年7月にロリアンからリーズへ加入。1年目から定位置を固めると、2年目の昨シーズンはプレミアリーグの全38試合にフルタイム出場を果たし、今シーズンもここまでの全30試合に出場している。一方で、リーズは昨シーズン同様に苦しい残留争いを強いられており、仮にもチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部)降格となれば、メリエや元スペイン代表FWロドリゴ・モレノ(32)といった複数の主力選手の売却もあり得るとされる。そんななかでメリエ本人はチームが残留か降格かにかかわらず退団を希望。リーズは4000万ポンド(約66億2000万円)の値札をつけ、マンチェスター・ユナイテッド、トッテナム、チェルシーが関心を寄せているという。メリエはプレミアリーグ残留をノルマとし、決して強豪とは言えないリーズで通算122試合に出場して199失点。その一方、30試合でクリーンシートを達成している。その能力はビッグクラブ間で少なからず評価されているようだ。 2023.04.14 19:53 Fri
