▽イギリス『サン』は26日、上海申花がルーニーに対して週給60万ポンド(約8600万円)にも及ぶ破格のオファーを打診したと報道。過去にアレックス・ファーガソン元監督下で圧倒的な存在感を博したテベスとルーニーのタッグが再結成される可能性があるという。

「絶対に謝らない」ハーランド父に復讐したロイ・キーンが“報復”タックルを否定

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

逮捕・有罪判決・控訴から3年半…ギリシャでの“マグワイア事件”がうやむや消滅へ?

マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのイングランド代表DFハリー・マグワイア。汚名を晴らすための控訴審が再開されない可能性もあるようだ。イギリス『サン』が伝えている。マグワイアは2020年8月、休暇で訪れたギリシャのリゾート地・ミコノス島にて、他の観光客との間で口論となったことが発端となり、警察官への暴行容疑で地元当局に逮捕され、また警察官への贈収賄容疑でも起訴された。この事件は、逮捕4日後に21カ月10日の禁固刑(執行猶予付き)という有罪判決が下り、全面無罪を主張するマグワイア側はすぐに控訴を発表した。一連の事件については、マグワイアの妹が現場となったナイトクラブでレイプ被害に遭う寸前だったという証言があるなど、不可解な点も多く、一概にマグワイアとその兄弟、また友人たちに非があるとは言えない状況。当時、釈放されたマグワイアは「自分たちが被害者であり、暴行を受けた側」と主張している。事件から3年半、すでに執行猶予期間も終えているなか、控訴審は未だ決着しておらず、現時点で1年以上何も進展がない状況。経済状況の良くないギリシャでは、現在“弁護士組合”がストライキを実施…少なくとも2025年3月まで再審を開けないという。また、ギリシャは時の政権による財政赤字の隠蔽が2010年に明るみとなって以降、観光業が国家経済を支える重要な柱でありながら、治安が急速に悪化し、ツーリストを狙った窃盗事件も日常茶飯事に。こういった背景もあるのか、ギリシャの当局者は、“マグワイア事件”が続くことによって観光業全体にさらなる悪影響が出る可能性を考慮し、この事件の追及に消極的であるとのこと。汚名を晴らしたいマグワイア側の意向は不明だが、うやむやにして二度と再審を開かない可能性もあるとされている。 2024.02.11 16:45 Sun
