ボルシアMGの指揮官が辞任「ベストな決定」

▽ボルシアMGは20日、同クラブを率いるルシアン・ファブレ監督(57)が辞任の意向を示したことを発表した。また、今回の件に関する詳細は22日に公表される。

▽昨季のブンデスリーガを3位で終え、今季のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)出場権を獲得したボルシアMGだったが、FWマックス・クルーゼやMFクリストフ・クラマーといった昨季の主力が去った今季は開幕から苦戦が続き、19日に行われたブンデスリーガ第5節ではケルンとのダービーに敗戦。チームは開幕から泥沼の5連敗で最下位に沈んでいた。

▽今回の決断について、ファブレ監督は「現在の状況を考慮したとき、私が指揮官の職を辞することがベストな決定だという結論に至った。私はこのクラブの監督に適した人物ではないと考えている。その時が来たのであり、変化をもたらすことこそ、クラブとチームにとってベストな決定だと思う」とコメントしている。

▽ファブレ監督の辞任に関して、ボルシアMGのマックス・エベールSD(スポーツ・ディレクター)は、「我々は現在もなお、ルシアンはこそボルシアにとって理想的な指揮官だったと思っている。そして、彼と共にこの難しい状況を切り抜けたいと考えていた」との見解を示し、ファブレ監督の続投を望んでいたことを明かした。

▽そして、ボルシアMGのロルフ・ケーニヒス会長は、「現在の状況を一緒に乗り越えられると考えていたが、彼が辞任の意向を発表したことで、それも叶わぬものになってしまった。ルシアン・ファブレと共に歩んできたこの4年半という歳月は成功に彩られたものであり、このような結果となったことが本当に残念だ」との声明を発表し、残留争いを演じていたチームをCLの舞台にまで引き上げてくれた功労者に感謝の意を示した。
