▽記憶に新しい前回大会のハイライトは、誰しもが鮮明に覚えているであろう決勝戦で見せた李忠成のボレーだろう。
▽2度目の出場となったオーストラリアとの決勝戦は、互いに決定力を欠きゴールレスで90分間を終了。そして迎えた延長戦、前半はオーストラリアが猛攻を仕掛ける。それでも凌いだ日本は迎えた109分、左サイドでパスを受けた長友佑都が相手DFををかわして深い位置からクロスを上げると、中央でフリーになった李が左足一閃。美しいボレーシュートがゴールネットを揺らした。
▽これで2大会ぶりの優勝かと思われたが終了直前にボックス手前でFKを献上。しかし、日本は身体を張ってこれを守り切り、2大会ぶり4度目のアジア王者に輝いた。
