サッカーにおいて、試合を決める大きな要素の一つであるフリーキック(FK)。流れの中ではなく、止まった状態から繰り出されるキックがそのままゴールネットを揺らせば、盛り上がりは一気に最高潮へと達する。この企画『Beautiful Free Kicks』(美しいフリーキック)では、これまでに生まれたFKの数々を紹介していく。

今回はアーセナルでプレーするスペイン代表MFダニ・セバージョスが、U-21スペイン代表の一員としてU-21欧州選手権2019のグループAポーランド戦で決めたFKだ。
◆セバージョスがU-21欧州選手権の舞台で放った”超絶バナナシュート”

セバージョスは、各年代のスペイン代表としても活躍。U-19カテゴリでは欧州選手権優勝、2017年のU-21欧州選手権でも準優勝に貢献し、大会最優秀選手に輝いた。

さらに2019年6月に行われたU-21欧州選手権でもスペイン代表の優勝に貢献し、2019年6月22日に行われたポーランド戦では見事なFKを決めている。
優勝候補筆頭のスペインが前半のうちに3点をリードすると、迎えた71分、スペインはゴールのほぼ正面、約23mの位置でFKを獲得する。

セバージョスが擦るように蹴り上げたボールは、強烈なカーブを描いてゴール左隅へと吸い込まれていった。凄まじい変化に相手GKもあきらめの表情を浮かべる一撃だった。

今シーズンは、アーセナルへレンタルされていたセバージョス。現時点では来シーズンはレアル・マドリーへの復帰が既定路線となっているが、その去就にも注目が集まっている。

モロッコの国家的プロジェクト…ブラヒム&16歳ヤマルに政府高官が接触、自国にルーツの海外出身選手でA代表強化へ

「誰か説明してくれ」「めちゃくちゃだ」スペイン代表の新ユニフォームがリーク、蛍光イエローのアウェイが不評「もう白の無地にすればいい」
