昨シーズンまでJリーグでプレーしていたスペイン人MFシシーニョ(34)が、自身にまつわる報道を否定した。シシーニョは、スペインのアルバセテ出身。アルバセテとバレンシアのユースで育つと、バレンシアでファーストチームに昇格。エルクレスやレアル・バジャドリー、レクレアティボ・ウエルバ、オサスナでプレー。2015年に韓国の水原FCへ移籍すると、レフ・ポズナン(ポーランド)、ヴェリア(ギリシャ)への移籍を経て、2017年にFC岐阜に加入する。
2018年には徳島ヴォルティスへ移籍すると、2020年には愛媛FCへと完全移籍。しかし、2020年12月に退団が発表され、その後は無所属状態が続いていた。
そのシシーニョはインタビューを受けたものの、記事を見た人が「引退する」と解釈できると感じたとのこと。自身のツイッターでその報道を否定し、現役を続ける意思を示すとともに、日本でプレーしたいという願望を明かした。
「言いたいことがあります。引退するつもりではないです」
「日本で活躍することという夢が5年前叶いましたが十分じゃないです。今持ってる目的と夢は同じででピッチに戻ることです」
シシーニョはJ2でのプレーのみとなるが、通算78試合に出場し1得点を記録している。
