27日、UFFAネーションズリーグ(UNL)・グループAの全日程が終了し、準決勝に進出する4チームが出揃った。
グループ1は前大会王者のフランス代表、デンマーク代表を退けたクロアチア代表が初の4強入りを果たした。
グループ2では最終節でポルトガル代表との直接対決を制したスペイン代表が、2大会連続で準決勝へ駒を進めた。
グループ3はイングランド代表、ドイツ代表の不振、伏兵ハンガリー代表が大躍進を果たした中、最終節でそのハンガリーを破ったイタリア代表が逆転で2大会連続のベスト4進出を決めた。
グループ4はベルギー代表が本命に挙げられていた中、その本命に2連勝を飾るなど、5勝1分けの見事な戦績を残したオランダ代表が2大会ぶりの4強入りを決めている。
また、一斉開催の形式で行われる今回のファイナルズは、グループ4のオランダ、ベルギー、ポーランド、ウェールズが開催地に立候補しており、同グループを勝ち抜いたオランダで全試合が開催される。今後、実施予定の組み合わせ抽選会に関しても、ホスト国のオランダは2023年6月14日の準決勝初戦を戦うことがすでに決定している。
