残すところあとわずかとなった2020年。今年は新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大による各リーグの延期や中止、さらには無観客試合など、サッカー界にとっても未曾有の1年となった。今年も様々な注目すべき出来事が起こった中、今回は「超ワールドサッカー」で人気があったトップニュースを1月～12月まで1カ月ごとにプレイバック。今年のサッカー界を振り返っていく。

◆FFP違反で出場禁止処分のシティ、異議申し立てが通り来季のCL出場へ(2020/7/13)

シティは今年2月、欧州サッカー連盟(UEFA)のクラブ財務管理機関(CFCB)によって、2012〜2016年にかけたスポンサー収入の水増しによるFFP抵触の重大な違反を主張。来季から2年間のUEFA主催大会出場禁止と3000万ユーロ(約36億2000万円)の罰金処分を科されていた。
しかし、この処分に納得がいかないシティはスポーツ仲裁裁判所(CAS)にすぐさま異議申し立て。先月上旬にビデオ会議でCASの審理が行われていた。

7月13日になり、CASの判決が発表。シティは2020-21シーズンのCLに出場することが可能となった。

◆元ドイツ代表MFシュールレが29歳で現役引退! (2020/7/17)

元ドイツ代表MFアンドレ・シュールレ(当時29)が7月17日、現役引退を発表した。

シュールレは2009年にマインツでプロデビュー後、レバークーゼンで活躍。しかし、その活躍を受けて移籍したチェルシーでは強力なライバルたちの存在もあってレギュラーを奪うには至らず、ヴォルフスブルク、ドルトムントに移籍。その後はレンタルでフルアム、昨年夏に再びレンタルでスパルタク・モスクワに移籍していた。2019-20シーズンはロシアリーグで13試合に出場して1ゴール2アシストを記録していたが、2021年まで残っていたドルトムントとの契約を先日、両者合意により解消していた。

◆「人々がとても冷たく閉鎖的な国」元名古屋FWジョ-が日本で馴染めなかったと告白(2020/7/17)

名古屋グランパスとの契約を解除し、コリンチャンスへと移籍した元ブラジル代表FWジョーが、2年半過ごした日本について語った。ブラジル『グローボ』が伝えた。

「僕は日本よりも前に5カ国に住んでいた。ただ、文字が違うだけだと思っていたが、そうではなかった。我々の文化とは逆の文化で、人々がとても冷たく閉鎖的な国での暮らし方を理解するのは困難だった」

「彼らはアメリカとの戦闘に負けたことで抑圧されており、国民は熱気と喜びに欠けている」

「どこに行っても、彼らは常に疑いの目で見てくる。僕たちはそれに慣れた。言葉の問題も経験した。誰も英語を話さなかったからとても難しかった」

「良い面は、非の打ち所のないセキュリティと異常なまでの衛生面、しっかりとオーガナイズされていることだ」

名古屋での1年目となった2018シーズンは明治安田生命J1リーグで33試合に出場し24ゴールを記録。Jリーグ挑戦1年目で得点王に輝くも、2019シーズンは32試合で6ゴールと不発。今シーズンはヒザのケガの影響で公式戦に出場していなかった。

契約問題もFIFAが介入するなど、後味の悪い移籍となったジョー。母国へ復帰してから日本へのマイナスイメージを語るのはなんとも残念なことだった。

29歳での引退から1年、元W杯王者のシュールレの妻が第二子を妊娠

ドイツの万能アタッカー、シュールレがチェルシーで決めた唯一のハットトリック【ハットトリック・ヒーローズ】

引退から3カ月半、新たな人生を迎えたシュールレの心境は?「トレーニングとか制限がなくてハッピー」
