レアル・マドリーに所属するベルギー代表MFエデン・アザールが母国でマクドナルドの広告に登場し、大きな話題を呼んでいる。イギリス『SPORTBIBLE』が伝えている。11日に開幕するユーロ2020にベルギー代表として参加するアザールは、マクドナルドの広告塔の1人となり、2つのハンバーガーを目の前に大きく目を開けながら両手を顔に添える画像がSNSで拡散された。
アザールの大好物はハンバーガーやピザといったジャンクフードであることはこれまでも知られており、マドリー加入以降、長期に渡ってケガで離脱した同選手には、オーバーウエイトが度々指摘されていた。
実際、アザールは2011年に行われたユーロ2012予選のトルコ代表戦での途中交代後にスタジアムの外に出てハンバーガーを食べているところを目撃され、ベルギー代表から規律違反を理由に出場停止処分を科された前科がある。
