イルハン・マンスズの名を覚えているだろうか。
今から20年前の2002年に日韓ワールドカップが開催。国中がサッカーに沸いた中、その中でもひと際注目を集めたのが、当時イングランド代表だったデイビッド・ベッカム氏だ。日本では“ベッカム・フィーバー”が巻き起こり、その髪型を模したモヒカンヘアーも流行った。
そして、もう1人“イケメン”として脚光を浴びたのがトルコ代表だったイルハンだ。
「イルハン王子」の愛称で女性を中心にファンを獲得し、テレビや雑誌でも特集がなされた。長髪をなびかせながら頭の上で髪の毛をとめるちょんまげスタイルにクシャっとした笑顔は多くの人のハートを撃ち抜いた。
ピッチの上でも、控えという立場ながら全7試合に出場すると、チーム最多の3得点をマーク。トルコの史上初の3位という結果に大きく貢献している。
そのイルハンは大会後の2004年にヴィッセル神戸へと加入。Jリーグでは負傷の影響もありほとんど出場機会もないまま、最終的には無断帰国という形での退団となったが、その意味でも記憶に残っている人はいるのではないだろうか。
現役引退後にはフィギュアスケーターへの転身も明らかになったイルハン。46歳になったイルハンのSNSを覗くとすっかり“イケオジ”になったようだ。
トルコ代表の公式SNSや現地のメディアなどは22日、「今から20年前、イルハンのゴールで代表が準決勝に進出」と当時を振り返っており、現地では、代表チームを史上初のW杯3位に導いた英雄として認識されているようだ。

6日、来日しているインテル・マイアミの来日記念パーティーが開催。集まった豪華メンバーに注目が集まっている。
元イングランド代表MFのデイビッド・ベッカム氏が共同オーナーを務めるメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のインテル・マイアミ。アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシをはじめ、ウルグアイ代表FWルイス・スアレス、元スペイン代表MFセルヒオ・ブスケッツ、DFジョルディ・アルバと元バルセロナの選手が多く所属している。
そのインテル・マイアミは、2024シーズンの開幕を前にプレシーズンツアーを実施。アル・ヒラル、アル・ナスルのサウジアラビア勢と戦った後、4日に香港選抜チームと対戦。7日には「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」にて国立競技場でヴィッセル神戸と対戦することとなっている。
6日の昼には、神戸戦に向けた記者会見も実施されていたなか、夜には来日記念パーティーが開催。「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」の公式X(旧ツイッター)がその様子を伝えている。
最高額は1人300万円というスペシャル・エクスペリエンス・シートのチケットを持っている一般の参加者もいる中、パーティーには、インテル・マイアミの選手だけでなく、メッシらとバルセロナでも一緒にプレーし、神戸でもプレーしていた元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタ(現エミレーツ・クラブ)や神戸の三木谷浩史代表取締役会長の姿もあった。
豪華メンバーの集まりには、ファンも「ほぼバルサの同窓会じゃん」、「これは夢ですか?」、「当時のスタメン5人が式典に居るって凄いです」、「メンツえぐすぎる」とコメント。3冠達成を果たした2014-2015シーズンなどバルセロナの黄金期の主力を担った選手たちの再会に喜びの声を寄せている。

今シーズン限りで現役を引退した元日本代表FW田中順也が、妻であるファッションモデルの宇井愛美さんとの結婚10周年を祝っている。
TJの愛称でも親しまれた田中。柏レイソルでプロデビューを果たすと、2011年には昇格1年目でのJ1優勝に貢献。2012年2月に日本代表デビューを果たすと、2014年夏からスポルティングCPで海外に挑戦した。
その後は、柏、ヴィッセル神戸、FC岐阜でプレー。今シーズン限りで14年のキャリアに幕を下ろした。
その田中は、宇井さんの誕生日でもあり2人の結婚記念日でもある12月21日にインスタグラムを更新。家族ショットとともに結婚10周年を振り返っている。

IFFHS(国際サッカー歴史統計連盟)は25日、2022年のアジアサッカー連盟(AFC)所属クラブのランキングを発表した。
様々な統計を行うIFFHS。2022年1月1日から12月31日までの試合結果を基に作成され、勝利数や勝ち点数などからポイントを算出。ランキングを作成している。
Jリーグクラブで最上位は浦和レッズ。98ポイントを獲得し、アジアで5位となった。なお、世界では150位となっている。
アジア1位は天野純が所属する全北現代モータース(韓国)で165ポイント。世界全体でも42位に位置している。また、2位は江坂任が所属する蔚山現代(韓国)で121ポイント。こちらも世界で99位と100位内に入り、韓国の2クラブが上位に並んだ。
3位はアル・ヒラル(サウジアラビア)で112ポイント。4位は大邱FC(韓国)で104.75ポイントとなっている。
なお、6位には川崎フロンターレで93.5ポイント(世界161位)、昨年のJ1王者の横浜F・マリノスは88.5ポイントで8位(世界179位)となっている。
ちなみに、トップ30では日本は4クラブで2位、韓国が8クラブで1位となっている。日本の残り1クラブはヴィッセル神戸で69.5ポイントの16位(世界267位)だった。
