ヴィッセル神戸は11日、セアラーSC(ブラジル)に期限付き移籍していたブラジル人MFウェスクレイ(27)が、期限付き移籍期間満了に伴い2019シーズンから復帰することを発表した。
ウェスクレイは、2010年に母国のアトレチコ・ミネイロでプロとしてのキャリアをスタートさせた後、複数の国内クラブをレンタルで渡り歩く。

福島ユナイテッドFCは9日、ヴィッセル神戸に所属するDF東隼也(21)の完全移籍加入を発表した。
神戸下部組織育ちの東は2016年にトップチーム昇格。2018年から期限付き移籍で福島に加わり、明治安田生命J3リーグ14試合に出場した。移籍を受け、クラブ公式サイトで次のようにコメントしている。

イルハン・マンスズの名を覚えているだろうか。
今から20年前の2002年に日韓ワールドカップが開催。国中がサッカーに沸いた中、その中でもひと際注目を集めたのが、当時イングランド代表だったデイビッド・ベッカム氏だ。日本では“ベッカム・フィーバー”が巻き起こり、その髪型を模したモヒカンヘアーも流行った。
そして、もう1人“イケメン”として脚光を浴びたのがトルコ代表だったイルハンだ。
「イルハン王子」の愛称で女性を中心にファンを獲得し、テレビや雑誌でも特集がなされた。長髪をなびかせながら頭の上で髪の毛をとめるちょんまげスタイルにクシャっとした笑顔は多くの人のハートを撃ち抜いた。
ピッチの上でも、控えという立場ながら全7試合に出場すると、チーム最多の3得点をマーク。トルコの史上初の3位という結果に大きく貢献している。
そのイルハンは大会後の2004年にヴィッセル神戸へと加入。Jリーグでは負傷の影響もありほとんど出場機会もないまま、最終的には無断帰国という形での退団となったが、その意味でも記憶に残っている人はいるのではないだろうか。
現役引退後にはフィギュアスケーターへの転身も明らかになったイルハン。46歳になったイルハンのSNSを覗くとすっかり“イケオジ”になったようだ。
トルコ代表の公式SNSや現地のメディアなどは22日、「今から20年前、イルハンのゴールで代表が準決勝に進出」と当時を振り返っており、現地では、代表チームを史上初のW杯3位に導いた英雄として認識されているようだ。

6日、来日しているインテル・マイアミの来日記念パーティーが開催。集まった豪華メンバーに注目が集まっている。
元イングランド代表MFのデイビッド・ベッカム氏が共同オーナーを務めるメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のインテル・マイアミ。アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシをはじめ、ウルグアイ代表FWルイス・スアレス、元スペイン代表MFセルヒオ・ブスケッツ、DFジョルディ・アルバと元バルセロナの選手が多く所属している。
そのインテル・マイアミは、2024シーズンの開幕を前にプレシーズンツアーを実施。アル・ヒラル、アル・ナスルのサウジアラビア勢と戦った後、4日に香港選抜チームと対戦。7日には「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」にて国立競技場でヴィッセル神戸と対戦することとなっている。
6日の昼には、神戸戦に向けた記者会見も実施されていたなか、夜には来日記念パーティーが開催。「Inter Miami in Tokyo 2024」の公式X(旧ツイッター)がその様子を伝えている。
最高額は1人300万円というスペシャル・エクスペリエンス・シートのチケットを持っている一般の参加者もいる中、パーティーには、インテル・マイアミの選手だけでなく、メッシらとバルセロナでも一緒にプレーし、神戸でもプレーしていた元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタ(現エミレーツ・クラブ)や神戸の三木谷浩史代表取締役会長の姿もあった。
豪華メンバーの集まりには、ファンも「ほぼバルサの同窓会じゃん」、「これは夢ですか?」、「当時のスタメン5人が式典に居るって凄いです」、「メンツえぐすぎる」とコメント。3冠達成を果たした2014-2015シーズンなどバルセロナの黄金期の主力を担った選手たちの再会に喜びの声を寄せている。

Jリーグは31日、第5回理事会を開催。その後に記者会見を行った。
今回の理事会では、声出し応援の段階的導入の試合が決定したことや、百年構想クラブの審査結果、また、競技規則の適用ミスとなった試合の取り扱いなどが決議された。
様々な決議事項があった中、野々村芳和チェアマンは、5月31日が日韓ワールドカップ(W杯)開幕からちょうど20周年であることに触れ、「森島さん、宮本さんが20年経ったねということから理事会が始まりました」と、理事会に出席したメンバーであり、当時大会に出場していた森島寛晃氏、宮本恒靖氏と、当時を懐かしんだとコメント。「歳をとったねということと、サッカーも前に進んでいるよねという話になりました」と、20年経っての今を考えさせられたとした。
その中で、弾丸でチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)のリバプールvsレアル・マドリーの決勝を観に行ったと明かし、「CL決勝を弾丸で見に行きました。パリは日本人の我々がいくと、コロナがどこに行ったんだというぐらいでした」と環境の違いについてコメント。「スタジアムの雰囲気は、盛り上がることは当然ですが、サッカーにおけるサポーターの皆さんの存在は本当に大きいなと感じて帰ってきました」と、改めてサポーターのありがたさを感じられたとした。
また、会見の中ではAFCチャンピオンズリーグ(ACL)について言及。川崎フロンターレは敗退したものの、浦和レッズ、横浜F・マリノス、ヴィッセル神戸の3チームが勝ち上がっている。
8月には東地区はラウンド16から準決勝までがセントラル開催される予定だが、開催地が未定となっていた。
野々村チェアマンは「ACLの次のステージはセントラル開催になる。日本のサッカー界として、ACLでチャンピオンを目指すという気持ちも含めて、日本でセントラル開催をすることを検討しています」とコメント。アジアサッカー連盟(AFC)に対して、日本が立候補したことを明かした。
今回の立候補した理由については「Jリーグとしてどういうサポートができるかということも考えると、日本でやった方が勝つ確率を挙げられるのではないかということ」と、Jリーグ勢が勝ち上がるための環境を作りたいということを挙げた。
また、日韓W杯以来、東京オリンピックは行ったものの、大規模なサッカーの国際大会は開催されていない。
野々村チェアマンは「日本の国内において、それなりのサイズの国際大会をたくさんやっているわけではないです。(W杯から)20年たって、若いスタッフが増えた中で、国際大会を経験するのはクラブにもリーグにも将来必ず役に立つということで、費用は多少かかってもトライしたいというところです」と語り、日本が大きな大会を実施できることを示したいという狙いもあるようだ。

ヴィッセル神戸の元スペイン代表MFアンドレス・イニエスタの妻であるアンナ・オルティスさんが日本での驚きを綴った。
イニエスタは2018年の5月にバルセロナから神戸へと加入。Jリーグでも華麗なプレーを見せ続け、来日4シーズン目を迎えている中、一緒に日本で生活しているアンナさんが21日にSNSを更新した。
アンナさんは、神社の前で腰かけている自身の写真を添えながら、「日本は私たちに平和をもたらしてくれました...日本に住んで3年になりますが、私はいまだに外の澄んだ空気と人々が移動するときの静けさに驚いています」と心境をスペイン語と日本語の両方で伝えている。
アンナさんの投稿には、「これからも日本を楽しんで」、「日本を好きになってくれて、とっても嬉しいです」、「ご家族みんなで、いつまでも日本を満喫して欲しいと心から願っています」、「日本に来てくれてありがとう」と日本のファンからも多くの感謝のコメントが寄せられている。
2021年には神戸との契約を2年延長したイニエスタ。その背景には、日本生活の充実もあったのかもしれない。

ヴィッセル神戸は11日、セアラーSC(ブラジル)に期限付き移籍していたブラジル人MFウェスクレイ(27)が、期限付き移籍期間満了に伴い2019シーズンから復帰することを発表した。
