メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)がロサンゼルス・ギャラクシー(LAギャラクシー)のDF吉田麻也を大々的にピックアップしている。
2023シーズン途中にMLSのLAギャラクシーに加入した吉田。今シーズンは開幕からチームに帯同し、キャプテンマークも巻いている。
MLSは16日から17日にかけて第4節を開催する予定だが、公式SNSでは第4節に向けてのPRを実施。「今週末の試合を見逃す理由はない」としてリーグを代表する選手たちを起用した画像を投稿している。
起用された選手は、アルゼンチン代表FWリオネル・メッシ(インテル・マイアミ)、元スイス代表GKロマン・ビュルキ(セントルイス・シティSC)、そして吉田の3人。中でも吉田が一番大きく写っている。
これには、日本のファンも「麻也さんこの画像に使われてるの凄い」、「麻也が一番デカい」、「ブスケッツと間違えられてる説」、「メッシより目立ってる笑」と反応している。
吉田とDF山根視来が所属するLAギャラクシーはここまで1勝2分けと好スタート。第4節ではセントルイス・シティSCと対戦する。

ドルトムントのドイツ代表FWユスファ・ムココが、クラブの歴代ベストイレブンを選出。セレッソ大阪の元日本代表MF香川真司の名前もあがっている。
ドルトムントの下部組織出身のムココ。ユース時代から神童として名を馳せ、2020-21シーズンに16歳の若さでプロデビューを果たすと、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)にもドイツの史上最年少選手として参加した。
ユース時代からファーストチームを見てきたムココにとっては、香川の存在も特別なようだ。これまでドルトムントに所属した選手の中から夢のベストイレブンを組むという企画で、香川を中盤に選出している。
ムココは、香川を選んだ理由について、実際に観たという2011-12シーズンのDFBポカール決勝バイエルン戦(ドルトムントが5-2で勝利)のプレーをあげている。
この試合で1ゴール1アシストをマークした香川のプレーについて、「5-2で勝ったバイエルンとの決勝を観ていた。そして彼がピッチで一番の選手だと思った。彼はアシストを決め、自分でもゴールを決めていたと思う」と絶賛。さらに、「インテリジェンスに溢れ、常に100%を出してくれるから、自分のチームに入れたい」とその特長を語っている。
ドルトムントでプレーした中盤の選手と言えば、今をときめくイングランド代表MFジュード・ベリンガムやドイツ代表MFイルカイ・ギュンドアンらもいる中で、それを押しのけての選出。ムココにとっては、決勝での香川の活躍は余程インパクトが大きかったようだ。
また、ムココは香川以外にも2010年代にドルトムントでプレーしていた選手を多数選出。自身のデビュー前に観ていた選手たちへの憧れを感じさせるベストイレブンとなっていた。

アーセナルのドイツ代表FWカイ・ハヴァーツが不名誉な記録を樹立してしまった。
今夏に6500万ポンド(約117億6000万円)とも言われる移籍金でチェルシーからアーセナルに加入したハヴァーツ。ウェストハムから移籍したイングランド代表MFデクラン・ライスらとともに大型補強を行ったアーセナルの目玉の1人だ。
悲願のプレミアリーグ優勝に向け大きな期待を寄せられているハヴァーツだが、出足で少々つまづくことになってしまったようだ。
アメリカでのプレシーズンツアーを行っているアーセナルは、18日にメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)のオールスターチームとの対決企画を実施。スキルチャレンジという5本勝負を行い、ハヴァーツはその中でクロス&ボレーチャレンジに挑戦した。
1分間でクロスボールからのシュートをどれだけ決められるかを競うものだったのだが、セントルイス・シティSCの元スイス代表GKロマン・ビュルキと対峙したハヴァーツはまさかの1本も決められず。イギリス『talkSPORT』によると、2018年にこの形になって以来初めてのことだったという。
ただ、ハヴァーツはタッチチャレンジという浮き球のパスを的に入れるチャレンジでは大活躍を見せ、アーセナルも5本勝負に勝利している。
ハヴァーツには、ここで決められなかった分のゴールもシーズン開幕後に量産してほしいところだ。

ドルトムントの元スイス代表GKマルビン・ヒッツ(34)が、今季限りでの退団を発表した。
2018年7月にアウグスブルクからドルトムントへと完全移籍で加入したヒッツ。控えGKという立場ながら、公式戦46試合に出場。今シーズンはブンデスリーガで5試合、DFBポカールで1試合に出場していた。
14日に最終節を迎えるブンデスリーガだが、試合を前にヒッツは自身のインスタグラムを更新。チームからの退団を明かした。
「黒と黄色で4年!僕にとっては簡単ではなかったけど、新たな挑戦をすることにした!」

メジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)に新規参入するセントルイス・シティSCは16日、ドルトムントから元スイス代表GKロマン・ビュルキ(31)を完全移籍で獲得したことを発表した。
加入時期はドルトムントでの今シーズン終了後の7月1日付けとなり、2025年12月末までの3年半契約となる。なお、ドルトムントとの現行契約は2023年6月30日まで残っているが、今夏のタイミングで契約解消の形を取るため、フリートランスファーとなる。
今シーズン限りでドルトムント退団が決定したビュルキは、クラブ公式サイトを通じて現在の自身の想いを口にしている。

ドルトムントの元スイス代表GKロマン・ビュルキ(31)がメジャーリーグ・サッカー(MLS)に新規参入するセントルイス・シティSCに移籍することが決定的となった模様だ。ドイツ『transfermarkt』が報じている。

ドルトムントは1日、ヘルタ・ベルリンからU-21ポーランド代表GKマルセル・ロトカ(20)を完全移籍で獲得したことを発表した。今シーズン限りでヘルタとの契約が終了する同選手は、7月1日付けでドルトムントとの2024年6月30日までの2年契約にサインする。
なお、当面はドイツ3部に所属するドルトムントⅡでプレーすることになる。
シャルケやレバークーゼンといったクラブの下部組織を渡り歩いてきたロトカは2020年9月にヘルタ入りし、リザーブチームにあたるヘルタ・ベルリンⅡを主戦場に。今季も当初こそ5番手の立ち位置だったが、GKに離脱者が相次いだことにより、26日に行われたブンデスリーガ第24節のフライブルク戦でリーグデビューを飾った。
今回の移籍に向けてはドルトムントのOBであり、ロトカの代理人を務めるフロリアン・クリンゲ氏の存在が大きかったようだ。
元ドルトムントMFは、「マルセルは最高の才能を持っている。彼は素晴らしい能力を持っています。私が好きなのは、彼は優れたリーダーシップスキルを持っており、ピッチでも大声でコミュニケーションを取れるところだ。サイズ、運動能力、そしてライン上の速い反応、そして何よりも彼はさらに改善する可能性がある」と、自身の顧客を称賛している。

ドルトムントのスイス代表GKロマン・ビュルキが粋な対応を見せた。
ドルトムントは22日にブンデスリーガ最終節でレバークーゼンとホームで対戦。ノルウェー代表FWアーリング・ハーランドの2ゴールもあり、3-0と試合を決めて終盤を迎えた。
レバークーゼンが89分にPKのチャンスを獲得すると、近年ケガに悩まされ、今季限りでの現役引退を発表している主将ラース・ベンダー(31)が、双子の弟スベンに代わって投入され、そのままキッカーを担う。
ベンダーがPKをゴール左に蹴ると、ビュルキはこれをセーブする素振りなく見送り、ベンダーは自身の引退試合でスコアシートに名前を載せた。その後、2人は笑顔でグータッチを交わし、試合はそのまま3-1で終了している。
2009年からレバークーゼンでプレーするベンダーは2月に右ヒザ半月板を損傷。1月23日のヴォルフスブルク戦以来、欠場が続いており、そのまま引退する可能性も示唆されていたが、最後の最後に最高の思い出を作れたのではないだろうか。
なお、弟のスベンも兄と一緒に今季限りで現役を引退することを発表している。

ドルトムントの元スイス代表GKマルビン・ヒッツが白血病患者のために自身の幹細胞を提供した。イギリス『サン』が伝えている。
2018年夏にアウグスブルクからドルトムントに加入したヒッツは、正GKのスイス代表GKロマン・ビュルキの前に第2GKの座に甘んじていたものの、ビュルキの負傷を受け、今シーズン途中から守護神の座を掴んでいる。
そんなヒッツは、ゴールだけでなく見知らぬ白血病患者の命も守っていたようだ。
ドイツの慈善団体『DKMS』のインスタグラムは、ヒッツが病院のベッドに横たわる写真を公開。ヴォルフスブルク時代に『DKMS』のドナーに登録したヒッツは、試合の合間を縫って、白血病と闘う見知らぬ人に幹細胞を寄付するために病院を訪れたという。
ヒッツはドナーに登録した理由について、当然のことだったと明かした。
「僕には家族がいて、子供がいる。その中の誰かが血液がんを発症したと想像した時、適合するドナーにとても感謝する」
「こうした背景から、僕が血液がんに苦しむ人にふさわしいドナーになるかもしれないと言われたとき、助けたいと思うのは当然のことだった」
「誰も心配したり恐れたりする必要はない。全体を通して無痛であり、何か言及する必要はない。ドナーは本当に考えられたものだ」
