6日、2023年のバロンドールの候補者リストが発表。女子部門ではなでしこジャパンから2名がノミネートされている。
『フランス・フットボール』は5日、5回目を迎える女子バロンドールの候補を発表。30名が選ばれた。
先日まで行われていたオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)の女王であるスペイン女子代表などからも選出される中、なでしこジャパンからは2名が選出。MF長谷川唯(マンチェスター・シティ)とFW宮澤ひなた(マイナビ仙台レディース→マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)がノミネートしている。
『フランス・フットボール』は、長谷川について「黄色いヘッドバンドと代表的な背番号「14」で識別できるエレガントなマンチェスター・シティのMFは、日本のきらめくゲームのコントローラーであり、アジテーター(扇動者)だった。彼女の深いパスは、オセアニアでの日本の4勝に輝きを与えた」と紹介。パスセンスを評価するとともに、日本の女子W杯での勝利に貢献していたとした。
なお、長谷川は2022-23シーズンは40試合で5ゴール4アシストを記録している。
宮澤については「後々のチャンピオンとなるスペイン戦(4-0)での2ゴールを含む5ゴールを決めて、2023年W杯の得点王となった。クルクル回りながらスペースを見つけ、植木(理子)や田中(美南)と高速で連携した」とコメントし、女子W杯での活躍を称えた。なお、宮澤は35試合7ゴール4アシストを記録していた。
なお、優勝したスペインらは6名、準優勝のイングランドからは4名がノミネートされている。

オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)決勝戦、スペイン女子代表vsイングランド女子代表が20日にスタジアム・オーストラリア(シドニー)で行われ、スペインが1-0で勝利。女子W杯初優勝を決めた。
互いに初の決勝進出を果たし、初優勝を目指すスペインとイングランド。両チームともに開幕前には難しい時間があった。
3大会連続3度目のW杯出場と、じわじわと力を付けてきたスペインだが、15選手が協会やホルヘ・ビルダ監督と健康面などの問題でもめ、一時代表から不在に。一定の決着をみたものの、主力だったバルセロナのGKサンドラ・パニョスやDFマリア・ピラー・レオンといった主力が今大会の欠場を表明していた。
それでも、エースのジェニファー・エルモソらがチームを牽引し、グループステージではコスタリカ女子代表、ザンビア女子代表に連勝して早々にノックアウトステージ進出を決めると、なでしこジャパンには大敗を喫したものの、先発メンバーを入れ替えたラウンド16のスイス女子代表戦では5-1と圧勝。準々決勝では延長戦の末にオランダ女子代表を、準決勝ではスウェーデン女子代表を下し、決勝へと駒を進めた。
対するイングランド女子代表も母国での女子欧州選手権(ユーロ)2022を制覇後、主軸に負傷者が続出。ベス・ミードや主将のリア・ウィリアムソンがヒザの前十字(ACL)靭帯断裂の重傷を負い、フラン・カービーもヒザのケガで離脱した。
グループステージではハイチ女子代表、デンマーク女子代表に辛勝だったが、サリナ・ヴィーフマン監督はシステムを[4-3-3]から[3-5-2]へ変更。中国女子代表戦では大勝を飾り、ラウンド16ではナイジェリア女子代表戦に数的不利に陥りながらもPK戦勝ちを収めると、以降コロンビア女子代表、オーストラリア女子代表を退け、5大会連続6度目のW杯で初のファイナルへとたどり着いた。
日本の山下良美主審が第4審を務めることとなった決勝戦は、ポゼッションに勝るスペインが押し込む序盤となったが、先に会場を大きく沸せたのはイングランド。ロスト後に即時奪回を試みるスペインのプレスをかいくぐり、右からのクロスをレイチェル・デイリーが落としてローレン・ヘンプの左足がクロスバーを叩く。
スペインも17分、左からのクロスが正面のサルマ・パラジュエロを抜けてファーのアルバ・レドンドに決定機。だが、シュートはGKの正面に飛んだ。
試合が動いたのは29分。スペインは中盤で人数を掛けて奪い切ると、右サイドバックのオナ・バトジェが素早く左へ展開し、収めたマリオナ・カルデンティがスルーパス。追い越して左ポケットに侵入したオルガ・カルモナが、地を這う左足でのダイレクトシュートで右下隅を射抜いた。

16日、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)準決勝、オーストラリアvsイングランドがスタジアム・オーストラリア(シドニー)で行われ、イングランドが3-1で勝利。スペイン女子代表の待つ決勝戦へと駒を進めた。
どちらが勝っても初の決勝進出となる一戦。フランス女子代表との壮絶なPK戦を制し、史上初のベスト4入りを果たしたオーストラリアは、ふくらはぎのケガが癒えたサマンサ・カーが今大会初の先発に。一方で、5試合中4試合のクリーンシートと、堅守を支えてきたセンターバックの一枚、アランナ・ケネディが病欠でベンチからも外れ、クロエ・ポーキングホーンがスターターとなった。
対するライオネセスことイングランド。サリナ・ヴィーフマン監督就任後は欧州女王に立つなど、29勝7分け1敗の好成績と躍進を続け、今大会はコロンビア女子代表戦との準々決勝で逆転勝ちを収め、3大会連続の4強入りを決めた。

イングランド女子代表DFミリー・ブライトが、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)の準決勝オーストラリア女子代表戦へ意気込んだ。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。
女子ユーロの王者であり、今大会の優勝候補の一角でもあるイングランド。グループステージではハイチ女子代表戦、デンマーク女子代表戦で1-0と勝利し、第3節では中国女子代表に1-6と圧勝。グループ1位でラウンド16に進んだ。

22日、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)グループDの第1節、イングランド女子代表vsハイチ女子代表がブリスベン・スタジアムで行われ、イングランドが1-0で勝利を収めた。
2022年の母国開催欧州選手権で優勝し、同代表史上初の主要国際タイトルを手にしたイングランド。欧州女王として優勝候補にも挙げられ、5大会連続6度目の出場となるライオネセスは、負傷明けのミリー・ブライトが最終ラインに復帰し、新天地がアーセナルに決まったアレッシア・ルッソが[4-3-3]の頂点を務めた。

女子選手によるヒザの重傷が相次ぐなか、イギリス『BBC』は警鐘を鳴らしている。
母国大会のユーロ2022を制し、7月に開幕を迎えるオーストラリア&女子ワールドカップ(W杯)でも初優勝を狙うイングランド女子代表。だが、開幕まで100日を切ったなかで暗雲が立ち込めている。
22日にスタンフォード・ブリッジで行われたUEFA女子チャンピオンズリーグ(UWCL)準決勝1stレグ、チェルシーvsバルセロナで、バルセロナのイングランド女子代表DFルーシー・ブロンズがヒザを痛めたのちに足を引きずりながら67分に途中交代。その後、アイシングをした痛々しい姿を見せた。
イギリス『スカイ・スポーツ』などは、バルセロナの指揮官による「最初ルーシーは痛みを感じ大ケガを心配していたが、今は大丈夫だと話している。ヒヤッとしたが今は大丈夫だと思う」とのコメントを伝えているが、イングランド女子代表では長期離脱者が相次いでいるだけに、心配する声は多い。
19日にはアーセナルでもイングランド女子代表でもキャプテンを務めるDFリア・ウィリアムソンが、リーグ戦でヒザを痛めて途中交代。2日後にクラブから前十字じん帯(ACL)断裂と発表された。
ユーロで得点女王に輝いたFWベス・ミードも昨年11月に同様の負傷。FWフラン・カービーも2月に、DFミリー・ブライト(ともにチェルシー)も3月にヒザを負傷し、詳細は明かされていないが、戦列を離れている状況だ。
女子選手のACLのケガは世界的にも増加傾向にあり、今季だけでもオランダ女子代表FWフィフィアネ・ミーデマ、アメリカ女子代表FWマロリー・スワンソン、カナダ女子代表MFジャニン・ベッキーらが受傷。W杯断念を余儀なくされている。なでしこジャパンのメンバーでもFW千葉玲海菜(ジェフユナイテッド市原・千葉レディース)やGK池田咲紀子、DF高橋はな(ともに三菱重工浦和レッズレディース)がACL損傷の診断を受けた。
女子選手のACL損傷の数は男子選手の2倍から8倍とも推定され、これまでも議題にあげられてきたが、ブロンズの負傷を受けてイギリス『BBC』は改めて警鐘を鳴らしている。
同メディアはセント・メアリー大学に勤めるスポーツ医学の上級講師、カトリン・オクホルム・クリガー博士を招いた過去の記事を紹介。「これらが怪我の原因であるとは、はっきりと証明されていない」としながらも、「すべての分野が関連はしていると思う」と4つの項目を挙げている。
1.解剖学/バイオメカニクス-男女の身体的特徴の違い-
女性は一般的に股関節が広く、脚の角度が膝に向かって大きくなり、筋肉が発達していないため着地時に膝が曲がらないなど、リスク増大が考えられる。
2.ホルモン
月経周期中は怪我をしやすくなる可能性があると、提唱されている。関節の安定性に影響を与え、関節をより緩く弛緩させる可能性がある。
3.男女格差
女子選手は男子選手と比べ、構造化や指導されたトレーニングに費やす時間や経験の量、トレーニング年齢が大幅に低い可能性がある。また、使用されるピッチ状況のほか、スパイクのスタッド高が男性の動きに合わせて設計されていることも、可動域が異なる女子選手が芝に足を取られてケガをするリスクが高くなると指定している。
4.負荷量
女子サッカーの急激な発展により、試合の強度や試合数そのものが増加した。その中でも、回復時間が限られていること。
下手をすれば将来的に歩行にも支障をきたしかねない大ケガだけに、早期の原因解明や環境の改善が求められる。

アーセナルのイングランド女子代表DFリア・ウィリアムソンに長期離脱の可能性が出てきた。
FA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で3位につけるアーセナル(勝ち点38)は19日、節飛びとなっていた一戦で首位のマンチェスター・ユナイテッド(勝ち点41)との直接対決に臨んだ。
2位・チェルシーは勝ち点40、4位のマンチェスター・シティも勝ち点38と、消化試合数には差はあれど、優勝争いや3位以内に与えられるUEFA女子チャンピオンズリーグ(UWCL)出場権争いが混迷を極めている中、前半終了間際にアレッシア・ルッソにゴールを許し、0-1で敗れた。

国際親善試合のイングランド女子代表vsオーストラリア女子代表が、11日にブレントフォード・コミュニティ・スタジアムで催され、0-2でオーストラリアが勝利を収めた。
2020年8月、フィリップ・ネビル前監督に代わり、サリナ・ヴィーフマン監督が指揮を執って以降、母国での女子ユーロ2022を制覇するなど30試合無敗を続けてきたイングランド。だが、31試合目にして現体制での初黒星を喫することとなった。
前半からFWアレッシア・ルッソ(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)らが決定機を迎えながら決め切れずにいると、32分には長いボール1本から失点。32分、DFクレア・ハント(ウエスタン・シドニー・ワンダラーズ)のフィードをDFリア・ウィリアムソン(アーセナル)が頭で戻すも短くなり、これをさらったFWサマンサ・カー(チェルシー)が一対一をきっちり沈めた。

なでしこジャパンとの対戦を控えるイングランド女子代表(ライオネセス)が和やかな姿を見せている。
11日に国際親善試合としてスペイン国内で日本と対するイングランド。母国での女子欧州選手権(ユーロ)2022を制し、現在最も勢いのあると言われているライオネセスは、トレーニング風景からもリラックスした様子が感じられる。9日にはレクリエーションの一環としてヘディングテニスを行った。

2018年からスタートした女子のバロンドール。プテジャスは史上初となる連続受賞、そして2度目の受賞者となった。
2022年は女子ユーロをイングランド女子代表が制覇、そして女子チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)をリヨンが制しており、どちらかの選手が受賞するのではないかという見方が強かった。
しかし、プテジャスはバルセロナのキャプテンとして躍動。2021-22シーズンで42ゴール22アシストと、64ゴールにも絡む圧倒的な活躍を見せていた。
また、リーグチャンピオンであり、女子CLも準優勝。また女子ユーロでは得点王を獲得していた。
受賞したプテジャスは舞台上で喜びを語っている。
