フェイエノールトの日本代表FW上田綺世が、絶賛を受けている。
16日、エールディビジ第26節でトゥベンテとアウェイで対戦したフェイエノールト。4試合ぶりに先発出場した上田は、2ゴールを記録。リーグ戦は2024年10月19日以来、約5カ月ぶりのゴールに。公式戦では1月のチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)バイエルン戦以来となり、今季のゴールを7ゴールに伸ばした。
かつてオランダ代表としてもプレーしたロビン・ファン・ペルシ監督は「彼はトップクラスのストライカーだと思う」と上田を絶賛。チームの得点源としての期待が高まる中、クラブOBなどからも称賛を受けている。
元日本代表MF小野伸二氏と共にフェイエノールトでプレーしたピエール・ファン・ホーイドンク氏は、オランダ『Voetbal Prrimeur』で上田について言及。ミランへと移籍したメキシコ代表FWサンティアゴ・ヒメネスの存在が大きいとした。
「彼は今、自分が新たなナンバーワンであると感じている。2人の競争相手のレベルが近すぎると、実際にはお互いを劣勢に追いやってしまう」
「ヤンセンはヒメネスと上田の差は小さいと考えている。上田はそれほど遠くないと思う。もしかしたらもっと良い選手かもしれない。サッカーも走りもより完璧だ。スピードも少し速い。この少年には自信がある」
ファン・ホーイドンク氏はヒメネスとの共存が難しかった中、自身が牽引する状況になることで、より能力を発揮できるだろうとコメント。上田の方が能力的にも高い可能性も指摘した。
また、アヤックスなどでプレーしたテオ・ヤンセン氏は「相当な批判を受けてきた」と上田について語り、「彼に魅了されている人々もいるが、彼にはゴール前に立ちたいという意志が表れている。彼はライン間で対応でき、ゴール前に出ていた。技術的に優れている。ゴールを決める力があることを示しているが、プレーに合わせるのがとても上手いとも思った」と、チームに合わせることができる選手だと評価。ファン・ペルシ監督の存在も大きいと分析している。
「選手もこう考えた方が良い。『ああ、ファン・ペルシの下でプレーできるなんて。ビッグネームだから、彼は僕に多くのことを教えてくれる。僕も優れたストライカーだということを証明したいだけだ』とね。ファン・ペルシも彼に信頼を寄せ、彼が優れた選手だと思っていることを示した。ビッグプレーヤーからそんな話を聞けば、自信は40パーセント増すと思う」
ゴールという結果を残した上田。日本代表に合流し、2026年北中米ワールドカップアジア最終予選を戦えば、再びチームに戻っての活動となるが、残りシーズンでどこまでゴールを量産できるか楽しみだ。

世界的に有名な元ポルノ女優のミア・ハリファさん。現在は引退しており、インフルエンサーとして活躍しているが、実は大のサッカーファンとしても知られている。
現在29歳のミアさんは、スポーツ好きであり、特にサッカーがお気に入り。レバノン出身で、8歳の時に不安定な国内情勢の影響でアメリカへ家族と共に亡命していた。
世界的にも人気を博したミアさんはウェストハムのファンであることを公言。プレミアリーグのドリームチームを自身で組むなど、サッカーへの愛が非常に強いことでも知られている。
そのミアさんはYouTubeチャンネルの『AFTV』に出演。自身のお気に入りの現役選手3名を選ぶという企画に参加した。
しかし、ミアさんは現役選手ではなく、かつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでプレーし、イングランド代表のレジェンドでもあるデイビッド・ベッカムをまず挙げることに。「私は女性なのでベックスと言わざるを得ないわ」とコメント。理由が実に斬新で「12歳の時の私よりも高い声で彼が話すのを聞く度に、いつも笑わせてもらうわ。とても楽しいの」と、ベッカムの高い声がどうやらお気に入りらしい。
そして2人目に挙げたのがこれまた現役選手ではなく、ユベントスやレアル・マドリーで活躍し、フランス代表のレジェンドでもあるジネディーヌ・ジダンをピックアップした。
ジダンを選んだ理由については「ジネディーヌ・ジダンはサッカーを見てきた中で、最もエキサイティングだった」と、こちらは真面目にサッカー面でお気に入りの選手とのこと。ただ「私は暴力的なものが好きだけど、サッカーはバタバタしていて嫌になるわ。でもヘッドバッドは史上最高の瞬間だったわね」と、2006年のドイツW杯決勝でジダンがイタリア代表DFマルコ・マテラッツィに見舞った頭突きがお気に入りだという。
そして3人目に挙げたのが現役選手。唯一選ばれた現役選手はセルティックに所属し、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)にも出場したオーストラリア代表MFアーロン・モーイだ。
日本代表FW前田大然、MF旗手怜央、FW古橋亨梧、MF井手口陽介とチームメイトとして今シーズンプレー。かつてはウェスタン・シドニー・ワンダラーズでMF小野伸二(北海道コンサドーレ札幌)共プレーしたことがある。
モーイを選んだ理由については、「フットボール界のカワイ・レナードのようなものね」と語り、NBAのロサンゼルス・クリッパーズに所属するバスケットボールプレーヤーに例え、「モーイはレナードのように行動する。カメラは苦手だし、ちょっとおっちょこちょいだけど、それを感じさせないわ」と語り、「わからないけど、彼を思い出すの。カワイ・レナードは良い男よ」と、またしても独特な理由で選出していた。

今シーズン限りで現役を引退したGK南雄太が、現役引退会見を行った。
東京ヴェルディの下部組織育ちで、静岡学園高校から柏レイソルでプロ入り。18歳でJリーグデビューを果たすと、その後はロアッソ熊本、横浜FCでプレー。2021年夏に大宮アルディージャへと期限付き移籍し、2022年からは完全移籍に切り替え。今シーズンをもって現役を引退した。
チームはJ3へと降格したが、南は最終節の東京V戦で久々に出場。J1で266試合、J2で400試合に出場し、GKとして歴代最多の666試合出場を果たし、スパイクを脱ぐこととなった。
「ゴールデンエイジ」と呼ばれる世代で、小野伸二(北海道コンサドーレ札幌)や高原直泰(沖縄SV)、遠藤保仁(ジュビロ磐田)らと同世代。U-20日本代表としては、2度のワールドユース(現:U-20ワールドカップ)に出場し、1999年大会は彼らとともに準優勝も経験した。
その南は引退会見で多くを語る中、伝説的なシーンについても言及。それは、2004年5月22日、広島ビッグアーチ(現:エディオンスタジアム広島)で行われたサンフレッチェ広島戦の事件だ。
この試合に先発した南は、キャッチしたボールを味方に投げようとした際、手元を誤り、自陣のゴールに投げ込んでしまうというオウンゴールを記録した。
前代未聞のオウンゴールは大きな騒動となり、今なお語り継がれる伝説的なワンシーンの1つ。当時を振り返り、ワンプレーの大切さを学んだと語り、その後19年続くキャリアに影響を与えたとした。
「最初の2、3年は笑い話にもできなかったですけど、そのワンプレーでこれだけ影響があるんだとか、その怖さというのはあのオウンゴールで知ることができました」
「たった1つのミスで色々なものがこんなにも劇的に変化するんだということを感じました」
「だからこそ、自分は決してサイズがあるわけでもないし、能力が高いわけではないので、ずっとコンプレックスでしたけど、安定感とか、そういう部分で勝負していくしかないなと、歳を追うごとに感じていました」
「その中で1つのミスにこだわる、練習の中から1つのミスで色々なものを失うことを経験できたので、間違いなく自分のサッカー人生のその後に生きました」
「このオウンゴールで今頃になって仕事の案件で来たりとか、そういうのは、やっちゃいけないんですが、自分でも驚いています(笑)」
また、このオウンゴールについて自ら解説。「今でもハッキリ覚えている」と語り、あのスローに行った経緯を語った。
「こっち側(右側)に中澤聡太が居て、僕は転がそうと思ったら、聡太が『あっちフリー』って言って、(左側を)見たら近藤(直也)がフリーだと思って。投げようと思った瞬間にサンフレッチェの選手がスタート切ってダッシュしてきて、やめようと思ったらゴールに入ってました」
「半分ぐらい聡太のせいです(笑)」
中澤聡太のコーチングに従おうとした結果、ミスに繋がってえしまったと冗談まじりにも語った南。当時はSNSなどがなかったこともあり、この動画が拡散されることはなかったが、現代サッカーでやっていたら信じられない騒ぎになっていたはずだ。
南は「(SNSがなくて良かったと)心から思っています。バズってやばかったと思います。著作権を持ってれば、逆に凄くアレだったなと思いますけど・・」とコメント。「あってはいけないことなのでね。記憶に残るとか、覚えてくれる1つとしてはありがたかったですが…試合終わった後のレイソルのサポーターにバスを囲まれた時のことは今でも忘れないぐらい凄かったです。窓越しにめちゃくちゃ何か言ってました。めっちゃ怖かったです」とコメント。当時のシーンを思い起こしていた。

明治大学は12日、2024シーズンからJリーグでプレーすることが内定している6選手の合同記者会見を行った。
大学サッカー界の名門である明治からは、6選手がJクラブに加入内定。主将のDF井上樹(法学部4年/ヴァンフォーレ甲府)、副主将のDF村上陽介(法学部4年/大宮アルディージャ)、DF阿部稜汰(政治経済学部4年/FC今治)、FW太田龍之介(政治経済学部4年/ファジアーノ岡山)、DF岡哲平(政治経済学部4年/FC東京)、MF田中克幸(商学部4年/北海道コンサドーレ札幌)がプロ入りする。井上、村上、太田、岡については、ユースまで過ごした古巣でのプロ入りとなった。なお、14年連続でのJリーガー輩出となっている。
コロナ禍で大学生活をスタートした選手たち。活動が制限されたことなど難しい4年間となった中、6名がプロ入り。夏にブレーメンに加入したFW佐藤恵允も含め、7名がプロ生活をスタートさせている。
その明治大学は、関東大学サッカーリーグ1部では3位の成績となったが、全日本大学サッカー選手権大会で見事に優勝。4年ぶり4度目の優勝を果たした。
記者会見には6選手の他、栗田大輔監督、井上優部長も登壇。栗田監督は、「4年生が非常に仲の良い代という印象。4年生は13人が選手としています。夏に佐藤がドイツに行きましたが、7名がプロに行くことになりました」とコメント。「JFLに1名、関東リーグに1名が行き、サッカーを続ける学生が多かった。月末にかけてJリーグクラブに練習参加する選手もいます」と、多くの選手がサッカーを続けるという。
また、「色々な変換期の中で過ごした世代、仲の良い世代として社会に出ていく中で独り立ちできるのか。1人1人がリーダーシップを発揮でき、背中で見せる代になってほしいと思う」と語り、大きな期待を寄せていた。
岡(FC東京)は今後の目標について「海外で活躍して日本を代表するセンターバックになりたい」とコメント。「そのためにもFC東京でまずは活躍したいと思います」と語り、「FC東京がリーグ優勝するために貢献したいと思います。幼い頃から憧れていたプロサッカー選手をFC東京で始められることが嬉しいので、その恩を返していきたいと思います」と意気込んだ。
田中(北海道コンサドーレ札幌)は「小野伸二選手が現役を引退されましたが、小野伸二選手のような日本を代表するファンタジスタとして世界に名を轟かせるような存在になれるようになっていきたいと思います」とコメント。「北海道コンサドーレ札幌がタイトル獲得するために、いち早くチームの勝利に貢献できるように、野心を持ってやっていきたいと思います」と意気込んだ。
井上(ヴァンフォーレ甲府)は「生まれ育った甲府というクラブに戻りますが、明治での4年間で成長した姿を見せて、甲府の皆さん、山梨県民の皆さん、明治大学に恩返しをできればと思っています」と語り、「まずはJ1昇格のために自分が持っているものを全て出して、チームの勝利に貢献したいと思います」と誓った。

鹿島アントラーズのクラブ・リレーションズ・オフィサー(C.R.O)を務めるクラブOBで元日本代表DFの中田浩二氏の投稿が話題となっている。
現役時代は鹿島の他、マルセイユやバーゼルでもプレーした中田氏。日本代表としても2002年の日韓ワールドカップ、2006年のドイツW杯に出場していた。
その中田氏は自身のSNSを更新。鹿島のレジェンドたちと共に楽しいひとときを過ごしたようだ。
そこに集まったのは、中田氏に加え、小笠原満男氏(鹿島テクニカルアドバイザー)、本山雅志氏、曽ヶ端準氏(鹿島ユースGKコーチ)の1979年生まれの同期入団の3人と、2つ先輩の元チームメイトである柳沢敦氏(鹿島ユース監督)という豪華な顔ぶれとなった。
一緒に食事をした鹿島レジェンドのショット。これには同じ1979年生まれの元日本代表MF小野伸二(北海道コンサドーレ札幌)が「俺もまぜろ」とコメントするほど。仲の良さが伝わってくる写真だ。
