イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は9日、アーセナルのFWブカヨ・サカが、イングランド代表の活動から外れることを発表した。 今シーズンもアーセナルの主力として開幕からプレーを続けてきたサカ。右ウイングとしてチームの攻撃を牽引していた。 しかし、3日に行われたチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)第2節のRCランス戦に先発出場すると、ハムストリングを負傷。34分にプレー続行不可能となり、ファビオ・ヴィエイラと交代していた。 この影響で、8日に行われたプレミアリーグ第8節のマンチェスター・シティ戦ではメンバー外に。クラブ記録となるプレミアリーグ87試合連続出場の記録もと途絶え、ミケル・アルテタ監督は「彼は代表チームに加わることができない」と代表参加見送りの方針を口にしていた。 一方で、イングランド代表のガレス・サウスゲイト監督はサカの合流を希望。代表チームのメディカルスタッフのチェックを求めた中、サカは他のチームメイト同様にセント・ジョージズ・パークにやってきた。 しかし、メディカルチェックを受けた結果、やはりプレーは無理。国際親善試合のオーストラリア代表戦(13日)、ユーロ2024予選のイタリア代表戦(17日)でプレーすることは不可能と判断。クラブにそのまま戻り、リハビリすることが決定した。 アーセナルはインターナショナル・マッチウィーク明けの21日にはチェルシーとのリーグ戦を控えており、サカはそこでの復帰を目指す。 2023.10.10 09:30 Tue

ユーティリティ性を武器にしたセドリックが4年半過ごしたアーセナル退団を表明「本当にありがとう!」
