26日、2024-25シーズンのSOMPO WEリーグのキックオフカンファレンスがJFAサッカー文化創造拠点「blue-ing!」で行われた。
新シーズンの開幕を前に、12クラブの代表選手が集った中、1部と2部に分かれて行われた。
第1部では髙田春奈チェアが新シーズンに向けた挨拶。また、新たにタイトルパートナーとなった「SOMPOホールディングス」のグループCEO取締役代表執行役社長の奥村幹夫氏が登壇。今回のパートナーシップ契約についての説明を行った。
髙田チェアは4シーズン目を迎えるWEリーグを前に昨シーズンを振り返り、「リーグ戦は三菱重工浦和レッズレディースが連覇と強さを見せつけたわけですが、WEリーグカップではサンフレッチェ広島レジーナが創設3年目で初タイトル、1月の皇后杯では三菱重工浦和レッズレディースをやぶって、INAC神戸レオネッサが優勝するということで、本当に色々なクラブが出てきたシーズンになったと思う」とコメントした。
「みんなが主人公になるためにプレーする」という言葉をテーマにしている新シーズンのWEリーグ。「クラブにおいてもどのクラブが主人公になってもおかしくない、色々な主人公が生まれてくると私自身もワクワクしています」と語った。
また、昨シーズンからは多くの選手が海外へと移籍していった。特になでしこジャパンの選手たちが多く移籍している。「WEリーグ寂しくなったんじゃないの?と言われることも多いですが、実際に寂しさもあります。ただ、中を見れば、あの選手がいる、この選手がいるとワクワクする選手たちが日本にはたくさんいて、その選手たちが主人公になっていくということを考えると、培った日本の女子サッカーの育成を感じますし、これから益々新しい主役を生み出していくリーグになることが求められていると思います」と、新シーズンへの想いを語った。
奥村氏は今回のタイトルパートナー契約の経緯について言及。「WEリーグの理念である、『女子サッカー、スポーツを通じて、夢や生き方の多様性にあふれ、1人1人が輝く社会の実現・発展に貢献する』というものと、SOMPOのパーパスである『安心・安全・健康で溢れる未来へ』という理念が共鳴し合ったのが最初のキッカケです」と語った。
その後、トークセッションが行われ、損害保険ジャパン株式会社の常務執行役員[CHRO・CCuO]の酒井香世子さん、SOMPOひまわり生命保険株式会社の執行役員 CHROである野田美智子さん、SOMPOケア株式会社の執行役員 CHROである恒松敬子さんと髙田チェア、そしてWEリーグのコミュニオーガナイザーを務める元なでしこジャパンGKの海堀あゆみさんがWEリーグとSOMPOホールディングとの協力による今後の展開について語り合った。
第2部では12クラブの代表選手が登壇。開幕節の対戦カードごとに登場し、お互いの印象やここまでのチームの完成度、自身の目標などを語った。プレゼンターは昨シーズン限りで現役を引退した元なでしこジャパンの鮫島彩さんが務め、選手たちは「2桁ゴール」、「得点王」、「タイトルを獲る」、「5ゴール5アシスト」など、具体的な目標を掲げていた。
SOMPO WEリーグの開幕は9月14日に開幕。8月31日からは WEリーグ クラシエカップが開催され、12クラブがカップ女王を目指して戦う。

大宮アルディージャVENTUSのDF鮫島彩が成長を続けている。
4月3日に行われた「2021-22 Yogibo WEリーグ」第16節、三菱重工浦和レッズレディースとの"さいたまダービー"では2-1で勝利を収めたものの、以降は3試合勝利がない大宮V。直近では2連敗と、勝負の際を制し切れない戦いが続いている。
とはいえ、林みのりなど冬の新加入選手も含めて連係面は向上してきた。また、チームとしてだけでなく、個人としても4月に行われたなでしこジャパンの合宿に井上綾香が初選出されるなど、明るいニュースも増えている。
ここまで15試合に先発出場している鮫島も、充実のトレーニングを行っている1人だ。公開したのは ボックスジャンプの様子。据えられた箱に助走なしで飛び乗るものだ。瞬発力と爆発的なパワーを高めるために用いられる。
昨年12月には「トップチームの男子選手がやってる高さに挑戦したけれど、全然無理だった件」と残していた鮫島。4月14日には「前回飛べた高さと飛べなかった高さの中間くらいで徐々に高さを上げながら実施」と徐々に高さを上げていった。
そして5日。インスタグラムに投稿された動画では鮫島の鳩尾ほどの高さである1m15cmの箱に挑戦し、見事に成功。自身も驚きの跳躍には「1番高いBOXクリアーーーー」との喜びの声と「まさか飛べると思ってなかったら、おったまげー!」との言葉を残している。
日々のトレーニングが成果となって現れた瞬間。間近で見ていたチームメイトからはもちろん、ファンからも「流石プロ」、「この前より凄くなってる‼」、「尊敬と感動の気持ちでいっぱい」、「びっくりした感じがかわいいですね」、「凄いカッコ良くて可愛い」などの賛辞が寄せられている。
大宮Vの残り試合は7日のアウェイ、AC長野パルセイロレディース戦と、22日のホーム、INAC神戸レオネッサ戦だ。トレーニングでパワーアップした鮫島の跳躍力にも注目が集まる。

大宮アルディージャVENTUSの選手たちがある撮影に集結した。
10月に開幕した2022-23 Yogibo WEリーグ。第3節まで消化しており、大宮VはWEアクションデーを含み1勝1敗の成績を収めている。第4節は26日に行われるため、少し間が空く中、選手たちは別の仕事に臨んだようだ。
MF仲田歩夢、MF井上綾香、DF鮫島彩はそれぞれのインスタグラムを更新すると、MF田嶋みのりとDF五嶋京香も含めて5人で臨んだ撮影の様子を披露。5人はユニフォームではなくオシャレな洋服に身を包み、髪型にもアレンジをきかせている。
仲田は「今日は、とある撮影に、、お楽しみにしててくださいね〜」としているが、ハッシュタグには「#Xgirl」の文字が。さらに選手たちもみな「エックスガール(X-girl)」の洋服を着用している。エックスガールは大宮Vにユニフォームも提供しているブランドだ。
そんな5人のピッチ外の姿はファンにも反響が大きく、「普段のイメージと違いますネ」、「可愛すぎる」、「かわいいの渋滞」、「皆さま素敵!」、「みんなカワイイ」、「眉の色も変えてるの??可愛すぎるーー」、「メイクもいつもと違う気がしますが、良い感じですね」と絶賛だ。

元なでしこジャパンの岩渕真奈さんが古巣の試合会場に姿を見せた。
日テレ・ベレーザ(現:日テレ・東京ヴェルディベレーザ)やINAC神戸レオネッサの他、バイエルンやホッフェンハイム、アストン・ビラ、アーセナル、トッテナムでもプレーした岩渕さん。今年9月の引退後は、解説者などとしても活躍している。
23日には古巣・東京NBのホームゲーム、2023-24 WEリーグ第3節の三菱重工浦和レッズレディース戦に来場。トークショーやサイン会を実施した。
14歳でのトップチームデビューやベレーザでの思い出などを語った岩渕さん。ウオーミングアップ中の浦和のDF佐々木繭とも掛け合いをするなど(2人は東京NBの育成組織メニーナでともにプレー)、和やかな時間を過ごした。
また、味の素フィールド西が丘には解説者として海堀あゆみさんや澤穂希さんも来場。加えて、この日試合のなかった大宮アルディージャVENTUSの鮫島彩や有吉佐織、上辻佑実も観戦に訪れ、岩渕さんとともにワールドカップ(W杯)を戦ったメンバーや東京NB出身者が多数集まることとなった。
岩渕さんはインスタグラムで豪華メンバーとの一枚を公開したほか、村松智子と宮川麻都とのスリーショットやウィーナとリヴェルンとのスリーショット、くじ引きで手に入れた岩﨑心南との一枚などを共有し、メッセージを綴った。

2023-24シーズンのWEリーグ優秀選手賞30名が発表された。
三菱重工浦和レッズレディースが見事に連覇を果たしたシーズン。12クラブの監督と選手の投票結果をもとに、優秀選手30名が決定した。
最多の選出は連覇を果たした浦和から10名。20ゴールを記録し得点王にも輝いたなでしこジャパンのFW清家貴子やキャプテンのMF柴田華絵、なでしこジャパンのDF石川璃音らが選出された。
また、2位のINAC神戸レオネッサは7名が選出され、なでしこジャパンのGK山下杏也加、DF守屋都弥、DF北川ひかる、FW田中美南が受賞した。
3位の日テレ・東京ヴェルディベレーザも6名が受賞。FW藤野あおばらが名を連ねた。
また、ベテラン勢でも今シーズン限りでの引退を表明した大宮アルディージャVENTUSのDF鮫島彩、得点力も見せたアルビレックス新潟レディースのMF川澄奈穂美が受賞している。
この30名の中から、最優秀選手賞、ベストイレブンが選ばれることに。6月7日(金)の「2023-24WEリーグアウォーズ」で発表される。
