パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のブラジル代表FWネイマールが流石のテクニックを披露した。
カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のブラジル代表メンバーにも選ばれているネイマール。今シーズンのPSGでは公式戦20試合に出場して15ゴール12アシストと絶好調でW杯へと臨む。
そんなネイマールが母国のテレビ番組で見事なテクニックを披露。撮影自体は9月にされたものだというが、ドローンによって35mの高さから落下させたボールをネイマールはトラップ。ボールにはかなりの勢いがついていたが、ネイマールは柔らかいトラップで見事バウンドさせることなく収めていた。
固唾をのんで見守っていたブラジル代表のチームメイトも大興奮のネイマールの神業には「これ相当難しいだろ」、「天才だ」、「クレイジートラップ!」、「真上からのボールって感覚激ムズじゃないか」と驚きの言葉が。さらに日本のファンからは「小野伸二バージョンみたい」と度々北海道コンサドーレ札幌が神業トラップを公開する元日本代表MF小野伸二の挑戦を期待する声も上がっていた。
カタールW杯でもネイマールの唯一無二の技術からは目が離せない。

世界的に有名な元ポルノ女優のミア・ハリファさん。現在は引退しており、インフルエンサーとして活躍しているが、実は大のサッカーファンとしても知られている。
現在29歳のミアさんは、スポーツ好きであり、特にサッカーがお気に入り。レバノン出身で、8歳の時に不安定な国内情勢の影響でアメリカへ家族と共に亡命していた。
世界的にも人気を博したミアさんはウェストハムのファンであることを公言。プレミアリーグのドリームチームを自身で組むなど、サッカーへの愛が非常に強いことでも知られている。
そのミアさんはYouTubeチャンネルの『AFTV』に出演。自身のお気に入りの現役選手3名を選ぶという企画に参加した。
しかし、ミアさんは現役選手ではなく、かつてマンチェスター・ユナイテッドでプレーし、イングランド代表のレジェンドでもあるデイビッド・ベッカムをまず挙げることに。「私は女性なのでベックスと言わざるを得ないわ」とコメント。理由が実に斬新で「12歳の時の私よりも高い声で彼が話すのを聞く度に、いつも笑わせてもらうわ。とても楽しいの」と、ベッカムの高い声がどうやらお気に入りらしい。
そして2人目に挙げたのがこれまた現役選手ではなく、ユベントスやレアル・マドリーで活躍し、フランス代表のレジェンドでもあるジネディーヌ・ジダンをピックアップした。
ジダンを選んだ理由については「ジネディーヌ・ジダンはサッカーを見てきた中で、最もエキサイティングだった」と、こちらは真面目にサッカー面でお気に入りの選手とのこと。ただ「私は暴力的なものが好きだけど、サッカーはバタバタしていて嫌になるわ。でもヘッドバッドは史上最高の瞬間だったわね」と、2006年のドイツW杯決勝でジダンがイタリア代表DFマルコ・マテラッツィに見舞った頭突きがお気に入りだという。
そして3人目に挙げたのが現役選手。唯一選ばれた現役選手はセルティックに所属し、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)にも出場したオーストラリア代表MFアーロン・モーイだ。
日本代表FW前田大然、MF旗手怜央、FW古橋亨梧、MF井手口陽介とチームメイトとして今シーズンプレー。かつてはウェスタン・シドニー・ワンダラーズでMF小野伸二(北海道コンサドーレ札幌)共プレーしたことがある。
モーイを選んだ理由については、「フットボール界のカワイ・レナードのようなものね」と語り、NBAのロサンゼルス・クリッパーズに所属するバスケットボールプレーヤーに例え、「モーイはレナードのように行動する。カメラは苦手だし、ちょっとおっちょこちょいだけど、それを感じさせないわ」と語り、「わからないけど、彼を思い出すの。カワイ・レナードは良い男よ」と、またしても独特な理由で選出していた。

鹿島アントラーズの元日本代表DF内田篤人(32)が現役引退を決断した。
23日の明治安田生命J1リーグ第12節のガンバ大阪戦がラストマッチとなり、31日にで鹿島との契約が満了。スパイクを脱ぐこととなる。
内田と言えば、鹿島とともに忘れてならないのがシャルケでの活躍だろう。“ウッシー”の愛称でも親しまれ、右サイドバックのレギュラーとして長らくプレー。元スペイン代表FWラウール・ゴンサレスや元オランダ代表FWクラース・ヤン・フンテラール、ドイツ代表GKマヌエル・ノイアー(現バイエルン)などワールドクラスの選手ともチームメイトとしてプレーした。
シャルケでは公式戦通算153試合に出場し2ゴール18アシストを記録した内田。DFBポカールのタイトルのみとなったが、最高峰の舞台であるチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)では誇るべき成績を残している。
日本人としてチャンピオンズリーグに出場したことがあるのは19名。内田は29試合の出場で日本人歴代2位の出場試合数を記録しているが、プレーイングタイムでは1位の成績を残している。
内田は29試合で2418分間プレー。1ゴール2アシストを記録した。2位はドルトムントとマンチェスター・ユナイテッドで出場したMF香川真司(レアル・サラゴサ)で2286分(33試合)となっている。
また2010-11シーズンのCL準々決勝ではインテルと対戦し、長友佑都との日本人対決も実現していた。
ヒザのケガとの戦いもあった中でのこの記録はいずれ抜かれる可能性はあるが、偉大な功績と言えるだろう。

31日、日本代表はアジアカップ2023のラウンド16でバーレーン代表と対戦する。
過去の対戦成績は日本の8勝2敗となっているが、アジアカップの舞台で最後に対戦したのは2004年の中国大会での準決勝。記憶に残る激闘だった。
MF小野伸二、FW高原直泰ら当時の主力選手が欠場していた当時の日本は、開催国の中国サポーターにブーイングを浴びせられながらも決勝トーナメントに進出すると、準々決勝ではPK戦途中でのサイド変更とGK川口能活の神がかり的なセーブが印象深いヨルダン代表戦に勝利し、準決勝でバーレーンと対戦した。
しかし、バーレーン戦では開始6分に先制ゴールを許すと、40分にはMF遠藤保仁が不可解な判定で一発退場。日本はビハインドの状況で数的不利を負ってしまった。
数的不利の状況でもMF中田浩二とFW玉田圭司のゴールで逆転した日本だったが、その後2失点。2-3と1点ビハインドで試合終盤を迎えた。
それでも日本は最後まで諦めず。DFも攻めあがって同点ゴールを狙うと、90分にDF中澤佑二が値千金の同点ゴール。不屈の精神で同点に追いつくと、延長前半には玉田の独走ゴールが決まり、4-3で激闘を制していた。
なんとか決勝に進出した日本は、決勝で中国代表を撃破。見事に大会連覇を成し遂げていた。
久しぶりの対戦を前に『DAZN』は当時の試合映像をプレイバック。SNS上のファンも「このゴールで中澤佑二に惚れた」、「バーレーン戦といえばこの試合よな」、「痺れたね、玉田」、「まさに「死闘」ってカンジだった!」、「2004の大会は激熱だった」と当時を思い返している。
ベスト8を懸けた一戦は、31日の20時30分にキックオフ。『DAZN』で視聴が可能だ。

元日本代表MF本田圭佑が、MF松井大輔の引退試合を振り返った。
15日、『松井大輔引退試合-Le dernier dribble-～STARSEEDS SPECIAL MATCH～』がニッパツ三ツ沢球技場で開催。本田は「JAPAN DREAMS」チームに加わり、1トップのポジションで先発した。
40分には、松井が左足で上げた右クロスをゴール前で収めてフィニッシュ。ハーフタイム直前にも最終ライン裏への抜け出しからゴールを奪った。
1点目のシーンは、2010年南アフリカワールドカップのカメルーン代表戦の再現。右サイドから急いでゴール前にポジションを取ったが、すぐには気づかなかったと明かしている。
「最初はあのシーンを再現することを知らず。大ちゃん(松井)が出てきて、ボール持った時に周りが『ファー行け』とか言って。『どういう意味やねん』、『ここからワンツーで崩せるやろ』と思いながら。3秒くらい時間かけて気づいて、という感じでしたね」
そのカメルーン戦のゴールは自らにとっても非常に大きなものだったという。そして、松井への感謝の気持ちも伝えた。
「よく今までで一番記憶に残っているゴールという質問を受けるんですけど、ほぼこのゴールを答えてきました。初めてのワールドカップで、初めてのゴールというのは自分にとって一番大きかったですし、それが結果的に大ちゃんのアシストということに関しては、感謝しないといけないなと」
14日には、南アフリカ・ワールドカップをともに戦ったMF中村憲剛も引退試合を実施。本田はDF槙野智章の引退試合に参加したため、中村の引退試合には参加できなかったが、先輩たちの力も大きかったと振り返った。
「あの時は本当に、ベテランの人たちが支えてくれたと思う。憲剛くんもそうですし、憲剛くんに限らず。その辺はすごくバランスが良かったチームだなと」
一方、自身は現役へのこだわりを貫いている本田。指導者の道を進んでいる松井とは、立場は違えど、互いに刺激しあえればと考えている。
「何度も話していますけど、僕は引退するつもりはないので。サッカーを辞めている人たちは、勝手に辞めているので。大ちゃんに関してはもうすでに次の道に進み始めていると聞いているので、どちらも一緒に葛藤していければ良いなと思っています」
