ノルウェー代表MFマルティン・ウーデゴール(25)は今年8月、自身のインスタグラムでパートナーであるプロダンサーのヘレン・スピリング(28)とのマタニティフォトを公開。その後、結婚が明らかになるなか、2人は6日にそれぞれのインスタグラムで子供の手を取り合う写真をアップし、今月1日に第一子誕生を公表した。
ウーデゴールは妻が出産する前日の11月30日に行われたプレミアリーグのウェストハム戦でPKチャンスからゴールを決め、おしゃぶりパフォーマンスを披露。ドイツ代表MFカイ・ハヴァーツがパートナーとの間に子供を授かったのを公表したことに対するものとされたが、妻への前祝いの意味もあったのかもしれない。
2021年冬のアーセナル入りがヒットし、今や司令塔でありながら主将も担うウーデゴール。プライベートでは父親にもなり、ピッチ内外で充実した日々を過ごしている。

アーセナルのキャプテンを務めるノルウェー代表MFマルティン・ウーデゴール(25)。代表活動で負ったケガにより、長期離脱を余儀なくされているが、この一時的な休暇で人生に変化をもたらしたようだ。
ノルウェー『Verdens Gang(VG)』によると、ウーデゴールはパートナーであるヘレン・スピアリングさん(28)と結婚をしたとのこと。4日、国民登録簿の婚姻状況に関して「既婚」に変更したとのこと。また、ヘレン・スピアリングさんは、名前をヘレン・スピアリング・ウーデゴールに変更したという。
ウーデゴールとヘレンさんが初めて2人で一緒に目撃されたのは、2023年3月のロンドン・フットボール・アワード。同年6月にウーデゴールはヘレンさんとの交際を認めていた。
また、現在ヘレンさんは妊娠中。そして、2人はついに結婚したという。
ヘレンさんは、イギリスのテレビ シリーズ「ストリクトリー・カム・ダンシング」とアメリカのテレビ シリーズ「ダンシング・ウィズ・ザ・スターズ」のノルウェー版である「スカルヴィダンス」の一員としてノルウェーでも知られた存在。2021年には番組で優勝を果たしていた。
社交ダンスを得意とし、全国選手権では17個の金メダルを獲得。2023年には「マスター・オブ・マスターズ」の一員となったという。

ノルウェー代表MFマルティン・ウーデゴール(24)がアーセナルに忠誠を誓った。
2021年1月にアーセナル入りしたウーデゴール。今季はプレーだけでなく、新主将として統率し、19年ぶりのプレミアリーグ優勝に迫ったチームを力強くリードした。
レアル・マドリーで燻った才能が完全に花開く司令塔の契約は2025年まで。1年延長オプションも残るアーセナルだが、また新たに長期契約の締結を計画している模様だ。
一方で、パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)の関心が囁かれるウーデゴールだが、自国メディア『TV2』できっぱり。長きにわたり、アーセナルにとどまる願望を口にした。

アーセナルとサプライヤーのアディダスは18日、2023-24シーズンで着用する3rdユニフォームのデザインを発表した。
プレミアリーグを優勝した2003-04シーズンをモチーフにした1stユニフォーム、ショッキングイエローをベースにした攻めた2ndユニフォームをこれまで発表しているアーセナル。3rdキットは緑を基調をとしたレトロスタイルとなる。
1982-83シーズンをオマージュしたという3rdキットは、ミネラルグリーンをベースに肩から袖にかけてを紺、各種ロゴをオフホワイトでまとめた。落ち着いたカラーリングは日常にも違和感なく溶け込んでいる。
男女ともに使用し、プレミアリーグのほか、女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)や国内カップ戦、UEFAチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)でも男女チームが着用する予定となっている。
現在のところは10月22日のFAWSLで女子チームがブリストル・シティと対戦する際にお披露目となる予定だが、CLの抽選次第では男子チームが9月にも着用する可能性もあるとしている。
モデルにはウィリアム・サリバやマルティン・ウーデゴールのほか、デクラン・ライスやカイ・ハヴァーツら新加入組も採用され、女子からはリア・ウィリアムソンがPRムービーに登場。そのほかスティーナ・ブラックステニウスらもモデルを務めている。

プレシーズンでは背番号「50」を背負い、注目を集めていたレアル・マドリーのウェールズ代表FWガレス・ベイルだが、新たな背番号が決定したようだ。
2013年夏にトッテナムからマドリーへと加入したベイル。これまでは背番号「11」を背負ってプレーしていた。しかし、2020-21シーズンは古巣のトッテナムに7年ぶりにレンタル移籍で復帰。その間、自身の背番号「11」は奪われ、スペイン代表FWマルコ・アセンシオが着用していた。
トッテナムはベイルの買い取りを行わず、今シーズンはマドリーへと復帰したベイル。しかし、自身がつけていた「11」はアセンシオのものとなっており、付ける番号を失っていた。
プレシーズンマッチにも出場していたベイルだが、その背中には「50」の番号が。しかし、ラ・リーガの規定ではファーストチーム登録の選手は1番から25番の背番号を着用することが義務付けられており、リザーブチームやユースチーム登録にならない限り、それ以上大きな番号を背負うことができない。
そのため、ベイルが一体何番になるのか、それとも番号を与えられない可能性もあるのかと話題となったが、開幕を前にマドリーは選手の新たな背番号を発表した。
渦中のベイルは「18」に決定。昨シーズンはフランクフルトへとレンタル移籍を果たしていたセルビア代表FWルカ・ヨビッチが背負っていた番号だ。
そのヨビッチは、「16」に変更。昨季途中からローマへレンタル移籍中のボルハ・マジョラルが付けていた番号だ。その他、FWロドリゴ・ゴエスが「25」から「21」に変更となっている。
また、アーセナルへのレンタル移籍から復帰しているノルウェー代表MFマルティン・ウーデゴールとスペイン代表MFダニ・セバージョス、グラナダへのレンタル移籍から復帰したスペイン代表DFヘスス・バジェホに関しては、背番号が与えられておらず、ラ・リーガの登録メンバーに入っていない状況だ。
