10日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の準々決勝が終了。準決勝進出の4チームが出揃った。
ラウンド16では優勝候補が順当に勝ち上がりを見せたが、前ラウンドとは打って変わっていずれの試合も大接戦となった準々決勝はグループステージ同様に波乱が起こった。
準々決勝初戦のクロアチアとブラジルの一戦では地力の差に加え、日本代表とPK戦までもつれ込む激闘を演じたクロアチアのフィジカル面の消耗によって大本命ブラジル優位と思われたが、不屈のクロアチアが善戦。

MFオーレリアン・チュアメニのスーペルゴラッソで幕を開けた試合は徐々にイングランドが押し返した中、後半立ち上がりに得たPKをFWハリー・ケインが冷静に決めて1-1の振り出しに。以降はイングランドペースも、FWアントワーヌ・グリーズマンとのホットラインからFWオリヴィエ・ジルーが78分に値千金の勝ち越し点を奪取。その後、イングランドは2度目のPKを得たが、これをケインが枠外に外してしまうと、このまま逃げ切ったフランスが貫録勝ちを収めた。

メッシと妻は30年来の仲、幼馴染の2人が結ばれW杯で優勝するまで

メッシ 大好きなマテ茶のストローは7万円超えの特別仕様

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン

54歳バティストゥータ氏がチャリティーマッチでゴール!4年前には左足首を人工関節に置換
